I submitted my first article last week and got a held-over letter. If you get an acceptance letter if it ends up being accepted, does that mean that you will also get a rejection letter if they decide not to use it?
It says in the neomail that there is no need to resubmit the story since it's being held-over, but if they decide reject, I'd sort of like to be informed why it wasn't used so I don't make the same mistakes in future submissions...and also so I could try to fix that article and resubmit it.
Thanks in advance for any clarification on this.

Thanks in advance for any clarification on this. From the time you got the held-over letter, you should probably be looking at anywhere from a week to even three weeks, depending on how busy the Times is right now, before you know one way or another whether you'll be accepted. If you're not accepted, you'll get a message telling you that you were rejected; it also includes basic information on why that decision was made. Some of the common rejection letters mention things like too much technology, poor punctuation, or too much violence. In some cases, you might just get a "too many good entries" rejection, because the editor doesn't have a letter that explains what was wrong with your entry. In any case, if you should end up with a rejection and want to know more specifically what to change before sending it back in, you can always post it here for the awesome writers of the NTWF to look at and give you advice on. =3 A held-over letter is usually a very good sign though, so you must have done something right. ^_^ Good luck on your first entry!

I'm fairly new to Neopets, and NTWF (probably should start an account). I submitted my first EVER NT submission and after a dreaded week of "held-over" it got in! It was in this weeks: "The Unsung Faerie". If you read it, please tell me what you think. If not, meh read it now! I submitted an article on Friday, and today I got, of course "Held-Over". I guess I don't have a question.... um, well, tell me what you thought!

Hate to double-post, but I now have an account. Um... fear my ninja-ness?

Ahem. Actually, it's entirely possible for a held-over entry (or one that wasn't held over) to be rejected/discarded with no rejection letter sent. I asked about this before and was told that. *shrug*

Hey, Schefflera. This isn't the proper forum, but I read "High Times" and found it informitive and thoughtful! Nice writing!

Hey! ;D I had one of my comics (Tag Team), held over two, possibly three weeks ago now, and I'm starting to wonder about it.. What would you do? (Wait, or Re-Sned?). ThankYou for any and all replies. Ame.

If you ask me, I would resend it. I usually wait for up to two weeks, before I resend anything.

I usually submit my comics once. It's normal for me to get a response after 3 weeks -if not so, resubmit it and/or send a message to Droplet.

I already GOT a response. I sent it in, waited two and a half weeks, got the notice that it was being held.. waited another two and a half weeks, and that brings me to now. So, total waiting time.. five weeks from submition. Therefore, I was just curious as to whether I should send it in again, or just.. keep waiting.

It should be in next week or so. If it's already held-over, I wouldn't resubmit it.

Then again, if it's not in next week's issue, do resubmit it. 4 weeks are way too much for a heldover. I got an entry held over two months ago, then 3 weeks passed and even now, it's still not published.
