Hmmm.. i just read 11 pages of riddles. i feel learned. except for hte fact i don't know half of them okay. i have 3 riddles.. A man is standing on the forested shore of a small lake. He wants to get onto a tiny island in the middle of a lake. On the island there is one lone tree. He has an extremely long length of rope, but as usual cannot swim. How does he get across? Two twin brothers alike in every single way go to a bar. Unknown to them, the bartender wants to kill them. He gives them both two drinks, which each have been poisoned in the same way. After the brothers leave, one's fine and the other dies. What happened? Let's make this Neopiany. A User wants to go to Mystery Island with his Lupe, Chia and crate of chia pops. His boat can only carry him, and one load of cargo. The lupe will eat the chia if he leaves them alone, and the chia will eat the chia pops if he leaves them alone. How does he get across? Yes.. the last one's easy. And for the DJ one.. isn't that like the one where the guy wakes up in the morning turns on the tv, switches it off and kills himself? If it is that one.. I think I know. The second one: one's built up an immunity? I don't know...I'm just thinking of the movie The Princess Bride. The last one: Err! I hate those things. We had to do something like that in sixth grade and it took me a long time, and now... You send the Lupe and the Chia Pops, then they send the boat back and you and the Chia go.

OK, here's another three riddles, two of them related to how many pages a novel is... 11) You walk into a room and you see Sally and Danny dead on the floor. There is no way that anyone could have broken into the room. You look for blood, but see none. All you see are a table and chairs, a few bits of broken glass, and a small puddle of water. Who are Sally and Danny and how did they die? (this riddle I got from a website, but I'll only credit the website when this riddle is solved as it also has the soulution) 12) Matilda has read an entire 272 page book (meaning every single word). Hermione also read all 343 pages of the same book word-for-word. Eventually they become pen pals and when they discuss this book they learn they have read the exact same material. Explain this phenomenon. 13)The unabriged novel Gulliver's Travels is availible to the public in a format where it is only one page long. How did this happen? 12. Two words: BIG PRINT. Heh, I'm probably wrong, but whatever!

E1(classification: logic): In front of you there are three light switches. They go to three seperate light bulbs in a room that is not visible from where you are. Your challenge is to determine which light switch goes to which light bulb without looking at the room with the lights more than once. How will you do it? E2 (classification: checking your assumptions): There is a normal, empty, straight two-way pipe lying on the ground. One perfectly healthy cat peeks into one end, and another perfectly heathy cat peeks into the other. Although there is plenty of light and nothing is obstructing their veiw, they do NOT see eachother. Why? E3 (classification: checking assumptions): A man sits on an island in the middle of a large, deep lake. The island is completely empty of materials and there is no boat or bridge. The man can not swim and, because the island is empty, cannot make anything to help get him accross. Eventually, he makes it safely to shore without any help, alive, and under his own power. How does he do it? E4 (classification: abstract thinking (HARD)): A DJ walks to his car with a satisfied smile on his face. He gets in and begins his drive back to work. He turns on the radio to some music. Suddenly, he stops the car, pulls over, and kills himself. Why? In the first one, you flip on one light switch, and keep it on for about twenty-thirty minutes. You turn it off, turn the next one on, and leave it on as you go to the next room. You look at which light is on, and that goes with the second switch. The warm bulb is the first switch, and the cold one is the third. (I think this was answered, but I thought of it beforehand) In the second, does one cat look in, leave, and another cat looks in, but they came at different times so they didn't see each other? I didn't know the third and I think it was answered that the lake is frozen. Wild guess for the fourth.... the DJ told a musician/artist that if his album got on the air, he'd kill himself. And when he heard the musician/artist's music, the DJ did so.

Now I have some riddles of my own! All hail Reader's Digest (the source of these). Some were already posted, so I'll just post the rest: 1. A child was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to parents who were both born in Boston, Mass. The child was not a U.S. citizen. How is this possible? 2. Clara was born on December 27, yet her birthday is always in the summer. How is this possible? 3. In what year did Christmas and New Year's fall on the same year? 4. Which is correct: "The yolk of the egg are white" or "The yolk of the egg is white"? 5. An electrician and a plumber were waiting in line for admission to the International Home Show. One of them was the father of the other's son. How could this be possible? 6. After the new canon law took effect on November 27, 1983, would a Roman Catholic man have been able to marry his widow's sister? 7. How many animals of each gender did Moses take on the Arc? Good luck.

An electrician and a plumber were waiting in line for admission to the International Home Show. One of them was the father of the other's son. How could this be possible? 7. The elctrician or the plumber was a woman? 7. I WAS going to say he had many of each gender before I examined it more closely: Noah was the guy with the Arc! Not Moses.

Heh...I'm not very good at riddles, but I might as well try these... You turn one of the switches on, then go look at the room. While you're looking at the room, and without looking away, you use a really long stick to hit another switch...I dunno Do they not look into the pipe simultaneously (and so don't see each other because the other isn't there while they look)? Is it the middle of winter (and so the lake has frozen over)? Has the radio turned to news, and he hears about a disaster that killed someone he cared about? Heh...now watch her announce that I got all four wrong No, yes, yes, and no. A more effective way of saying number two is that "They looked at different times of day." I never said they looked at the same time! About number four. . . he had turned it on to MUSIC, remember?

What, you've never heard of the Radio Law? The First Law of Radio: If you turn a radio on to music, it will, after only a minute or so, turn to commercials, news, sports commentary, or talk shows. Erm...maybe he heard a song he wrote, and realized it had been stolen? Maybe he realized he'd accidentally eaten rat poison earlier that morning and realized he was going to die a painful death, and decided to kill himself quickly instead? I have no idea...

E4 is practically impossible, so I doubt any of you will make the deadline. But it is a very complicated answer, and since it is so short just about every phrase in it has some significance to the final answer.

Okay, okay. Since number four is so hard, I'll give you two hints.
Sara was correct when she said that he had killed his girlfriend, but when he did this I'll leave for you to figure out. Mushroom was correct when she said that he had realized he was going to die a "apinful" death, though in a very different sense than she meant it.

Hmm...The DJ's girlfriend was also his boss and had just broken the news that she was going to fire him, so he killed her and tried to make it look like she killed herself. He was horrified at what he did, but still extremely angry with her, so he decided to kill himself and make it look like she killed him. He started to drive back to work, so it would look like she had been in the car, too. He turned the radio on to mask the noise, so timing the killing would be hard for the police...then killed himself as painfully as possible to help make up for his crime...I dunno

Here're a few from me (although I didn't make them up):
1. The Smith family includes Mr. and Mrs. Smith and their five children. Half of their children are boys. None of their children have any kind of birth defects. How is this possible?
2. This paragraph is just plain odd. What's wrong? Can you find out? I think you'll think and think for months. Not wrong, in truth, but odd. Unusually odd. Why is it odd, barring all the 'odds' in it? Think on it for a bit!
3. 'Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz.' Ignoring its senselessness, what is unusual about the preceding sentence?
