Article Reviews Part 1: Much To Do About Nothing: ;D Stoneman sucessfully splits my sides again! Winning the Beauty Contest in Style I'm confused....I think Gryphon was in her rant mode when she wrote this Boochi the Baby Bruce: How Bad Can You Get? Somewhat odd....but nonetheless good. The Importance of Being Charitable Too short....but does have a somewhat decent point. If The Hidden Tower Really Did Hide I'd tell you one thing..my article series would be defunct! Anyway...very creative though a little mistaken with the time. Faeries were around before we discovered Faerieland. The Ideal Neopia: On the Battledome and Evil Gives the opinion of the newbie on evil. Makes it rather funny when I hear people whine about that stuff everyday in the Newbie Chatroom. Owning Land In Neopia Central I like Neopia Central too. Very well written and justified

Second half of my article reviews!
:(How to Rule a Kingdom by noremac9—An okay article. Just way too looooooong. There were some remote amusing parts, but most of the humor wasn’t appealing.
???The Old Standbys by tdyans—Why is this a Something Has Happened comic? Someone seriously messed up here….
>:(Background Voices of Neopia: The Tree by too_kule—Eh…trees are already living creatures…but anyway…I didn’t like this article. Most of the time, interview articles don’t seem to have much of a point. Plus, that part about the Christmas Decorating Contest seemed to be a little egotistical…I’m just really critical today.
:-/Wanted: Bronze, Silver, and Gold by fanfickime—Okay. There was a lot of stuff like *laughs wickedly* etc., which got on my nerves—it’s fine on forums, but in articles, it’s very unprofessional. In any case, it was a pretty good article once you got around the ramblings.
:)Tyrannian Conspiracies by hippiesoul—A pretty interesting article…heh…evil dung…
:-/Two Years of Change by too_kule—Kind of—pointless—many people already know all that stuff, and those who don’t probably wouldn’t care…but an pretty good article nonetheless.
;DUnfair Misconceptions by averyangryshaylir—A really good article that many, many people need to read!
:-/What Makes a Good User Lookup by glowing_dreamz—This is certainly a useful article for someone who wants to work on their lookup. I don’t really like the writing style, though. There needs to be more sentence variety and less exclamation points.
:(LZurroball – Fun Game or Destroyer of Business? by missperfect270—Er, I didn’t really like this article. It didn’t discuss its topic thoroughly enough. It could have been good had it been more developed.
I deeply apologize for my critical mood.

???The Old Standbys by tdyans—Why is this a Something Has Happened comic? Someone seriously messed up here…. What? Half a comic doesn't make a good article? Seriously, though, I e-mailed Josh and he's always very quick about getting stuff like this fixed, so you'll probably be able to read the real article on Tuesday (assuming the Neopets Team has tomorrow off.)

The Old Standbys It was a comic...not an article...Shankly? Background Voices of Neopia: The Tree Very nice TK...do you think the Tree's branches will grow back? ....Continued.... Neopains I felt a tad insulted when I read that. We don't all have egos...Polayo should lay off the generalization a tick. I dunno, it didn't bother me, cos it didn't apply to me. I think there is a bit of that, and the criteria, though broad, wasn't intended for everyone - she was very clear about that, I thought. I liked it, I thought it gutsy and an original topic. The other Times bit of note for me was oddhatter's send-up of Legolas. That's exactly what I was thinking through the whole movie! So, it struck a chord with me, and it was well drawn too. Congrats for all who got in, I'm sure you all did a wonderful job, and I'll be reading all week. (Slow reader, eh?)

....Continued.... Neopains I felt a tad insulted when I read that. We don't all have egos...Polayo should lay off the generalization a tick. Even though she kept saying that what she was talking about didn't apply to everyone, and even though, in principle, I agree with some of her points (thought not necessarily in the way she worded them)... there was still something that I can't really pinpoint that rubbed me just slightly the wrong way about this article. I don't know how to explain it, because I'm not even certain what it was. Maybe even though she tried to say that it didn't apply to everyone, it still felt like she was lumping everyone who has a lot of Times trophies (or any trophies) into the same category of trophy-greedy, doesn't care about pets at all. I like trophies-- that's not why I write for the Times at all, though, nor does it mean that my pets are neglected. She said people should spend more time developing their pets' personalities-- well, writing for the Times is one of the best ways to do that! Anyway, like I said, in principle, there were actually things that I agreed with about this article, but I guess there was just something in the tone that didn't settle right with me, and I guess she made a few things seem just a little too black-and-white to me. I can really only think of one or two people who *might* fit all the criteria of what she's complaining about, and heck, I don't really know those people-- I shouldn't assume. I didn't dislike it as much as it probably sounds like I did though, I just needed to work out that part of me that didn't like it... I enjoyed Shaylir's article a lot and it made some wonderful points. The fact that you can't judge someone by their lookup I think actually goes to explain part of my problem with polayo's article. No offense to polayo though-- it's something I've been guilty of myself. It was interesting to see how many of the articles and even stories this week seemed to complement each other in some way. Wow, can I ramble or what? Sorry about that...

I felt a tad insulted when I read that. We don't all have egos... Acually, we sort of do. They very greatly in size, but having an ego is just part of human nature.

Also, will someone PLEASE review the short stories? Pretty pretty please? I don't have time to read all of the shorts, nor the guts to review all of them, but I read yours, so I'll tell you what I thought if you don't mind. Basically, I liked it a lot! It was very well-written and you did a good job of presenting the war from a pretty unique perspective. The only bits of constructive criticism I might offer is that I thought you could have done without the "So there" at the end of the first paragraph, and I had a little trouble believing that young petpets would know about returning presents at Christmas-- but that's just me. But like I said, it was overall a very enjoyable read (and sad, but in a good way.)

I'm wondering about the tagline that Josh (I assume) picked out for the "Neopains" article-- just "The Neopian Times." What's that supposed to mean?

I'm wondering about the tagline that Josh (I assume) picked out for the "Neopains" article-- just "The Neopian Times." What's that supposed to mean? Well, the thing that comes to mind is a time when he was sharing some of the (hate)mails he gets with some of us. A common thing was the misspelling of "Neopian Times" as "Neopain Times". (glad y'all liked my comic. I'm really quite surprised at the response I'm getting from it. Although some is more "interesting" than others.) "THAT WAS SOOOOOOOOO LAME!!!I like Lord of the Rings...WHATS NEXT??? U MAKEING FUN OF YU-GI-OH? ?? p.s.DONT GET A IDEAS!!!"
