"THAT WAS SOOOOOOOOO LAME!!!I like Lord of the Rings...WHATS NEXT??? U MAKEING FUN OF YU-GI-OH? ?? p.s.DONT GET A IDEAS!!!" Hehe, I think you should treat that as a request. Honestly, people are funny, so much angst over something so inconsequential.

Well, the thing that comes to mind is a time when he was sharing some of the (hate)mails he gets with some of us. A common thing was the misspelling of "Neopian Times" as "Neopain Times". Ahhh, yeah, that'd make a bit of sense, especially now that I see he put "Neopain" not "Neopian" as I initially read it... LOL at that response! No, not the sacred Yu-Gi-Oh!

Here are my reviews for the Week 74 Issue. I'm sorry if they seem critical... I guess there were so many good articles last week that I was a little disappointed in general THIS week. But these are just my opinions and should not be taken too much to heart...
Winning Beauty Contest in Style : by flipp_garuda Allow me to shudder and gag at this article. You can't flame people viciously for a whole article and then pronounce them uncool for sending you nasty-grams about it. Leave angry rants to the message boards-- not the Neopian Times. And that's just MY opinion.
Boochi the Baby Bruce: How Bad Can You Get? : by chibi_joey Ummm... maybe I'm in a grumpy mood tonight. I didn't think it was very funny, except for the phrase "This was defiantly something important". I would have really loved it as a short story though.
The Importance of Being Charitable : by icestorm162 I was a little confused about the point of the article in the beginning, with phrases like "I myself am guilty" and "my main cause of concern is not for the pets". This was a good article from one person's perspective, but I would have like to have seen more general information on the topic, or suggestions perhaps. Not everyone has access to the Lab Ray.
If the Hidden Tower Really Did Hide : by rishiy Okay article. It seemed to make the same point repeatedly. Maybe it's just me.
The Ideal Neopia: On the Battledome and Evil : by sol_luna_estrella Okay article. Nothing wrong with it. It just didn't knock my socks off. I'm sorry I seem so critical this week. I guess I was spoiled by all of the really great articles LAST week.
Owning Land in Neopia Central : by peachifruit Good article. But I can't see this as a series of articles. It's just my opinion, but it seems like it would start to get redundant. I guess I'll wait until the next installment or two before I judge.
NeoPains : by polayo Ummm... Neopets has so many things to offer, that whatever anyone likes to do is fine. After all, not everyone feels the same way about things. This article irked me because it made generalizations about people who win trophies that was simply unfair. If you love to write and are good at it, are you supposed to refuse your trophy if you get into the Neopian Times? Comic writers shouldn't submit every week? I think the idea of simply earning trophies for the sake of getting trophies is pointless, is a good concept. But I think there are too many barbs slung at the people who HAVE ALREADY WON A TROPHY, so continuing to do what they love is not wrong. Even if the subject didn't bother me, I was confused about the POINT. Was it about Neopian Times writers or people who pursue trophies?

A Neopian Web Design Treatise : On Colour : by oddhatter Excellent article. Well written, well laid-out and well thought-out. Excellent subject and one that DOES merit a series of continuing articles. This is an excellent example of how to teach people to do better without insulting them. Thanks oddhatter!
How to Rule a Kingdom : by noremac9 I have been waiting breathlessly for a week for this article even since he mentioned the title of it. I loved the line, "Don't take an Orb... take a Cube or a Trapezoid". Some very classic, funny bits in this article.
The Old Standbys : by tdyans Josh made a boo-boo. When he fixes it, I'll review it. Funny comic, though.
Background Voices of Neopia: The Tree : by too_kule This is a funny article. I liked it even though I'm not big on "interview" articles because it was something really different. Good job.
Wanted: Bronze, Silver, and Gold : by fanfickime Good article with some humor to it. It didn't give any game tips though, but I predict we will see a lot more good articles from fanfickime in the future.
Tyrannian Conspiracies : by hippiesoul Very clever conspiracy theory. Well-written. I liked it.
Two Years of Change : by too_kule Interesting stroll down memory lane. It was kind of short though. I think discussing things like foods or contests would have added a little more to it. But good anyway.
Unfair Misconceptions : by averyangryshaylir I thought this was another good article that would have been excellent if it had been longer. Perhaps it could have been lengthened by discussing other points in a Look-up like trophies or the guild they belong to. Or perhaps even discussing assumptions made by looking at a person's shop. Just my opinion. Nothing personal. I still liked the point of it.
What Makes a Good User Lookup? : by glowing_dreamz Good article with excellent advice... except I found your user look-up impossible to read. The white on lavender text with the background showing through really made me squint. And the thing at the top had font/background too busy to read so I didn't bother. Anyway, I liked the article.
Zurroball - Fun Game or Destroyer of Business? : by missperfect270 It started out great and helpful but then went off... somewhere... I would have preferred to actually see the rules and game strategies... but oh well.

Much To Do About Nothing: ;D Stoneman sucessfully splits my sides again! Thanks! I guess I proved that an article can be completely pointless and still have people like it...

I'm curious to know if Polayo had a creative block. Because this article reminded me of Beware The Flour......making rash generalizations about those wiht trophies. It was also hypocritical......if he pities those with trophies....then he must pity himself for having them. No offense to Polayo should you be reading this...but you really need to think before you speak. Otherwise you'll take my title as "Highest Hatemail to Compelment Ratio" I'm currently have a ratio H:C 7:1 (I counted

I think the majarioty of us, do NOT brag about our entries, or how many trophies we have, or anything of the sort. There's that minority that creates articles like this.
IMO, I think most of us here handle our responabilty as an author well. We do reply to mail, and take the insults as they come. Honestly, the only thing I can recall similar to this is the incident at NTAG (tdyans I think you'll remember this) where Mr. Ego insulted William at the nBn or PPT boards (I don't recall which one that is) and we almost pounced upon Mr. Ego for that. And i believe Laura also wrote an article adressing the issue.

I guess my articles weren't the best this week...my apologies! ;D But I hope you like my short story. It was supposed to be humour only. I got some replies from people who liked it. The only person I knew was Battlesunn. I hope some gets to do short story reviews. If not, no biggie. I would but I'm short on time.

I don't have time to read all of the shorts, nor the guts to review all of them, but I read yours, so I'll tell you what I thought if you don't mind. Basically, I liked it a lot! It was very well-written and you did a good job of presenting the war from a pretty unique perspective. The only bits of constructive criticism I might offer is that I thought you could have done without the "So there" at the end of the first paragraph, and I had a little trouble believing that young petpets would know about returning presents at Christmas-- but that's just me. But like I said, it was overall a very enjoyable read (and sad, but in a good way.) Thanks. The "So there" of course, was just Sullen showing a little bit of attitude. Personally, I liked it, but I can understand why you thought it unnescessary: it technically was.

I think the majarioty of us, do NOT brag about our entries, or how many trophies we have, or anything of the sort. I might celebrate a milestone once in a while-- but I'm not so much celebrate that I have a certain number under my quill trophy as that I've been writing for as long as I have *and* writing things that I feel good about-- not things that are just numbers to me. The fact that we have whole discussions like the "Humble Pie" board I think goes to show that we're not complete ego-maniacs and we are, as you say, trying to handle our responsibility as writers well. I think that's the problem. If people were really as Polayo described them in her article, then her article certainly would have been justified. I just don't think there's really anyone who's that bad, so it's like she's attacking people who don't exist or who she's made falst assumptions about.

To me it just didn't quite fit the sad tone. But nothing will ever agree with everyone, and you're the writer-- it's your world.

I would write a reply to the Poylo article, but I'm too busy polishing my many many trophies while admiring my special nickname.

I know short stories and parts of series DO take time to read. So since I always manage to have extra time on my hands (staying away as possible from doing school work) I shall be doing some of them for the reviews. I'll start after my math homework. My mom's telling me to do it over and over again

I'm trying to make all of the articles different from the last, so that they won't be chores to read through.
