Some people are plain jerks. right now I need let off steam.
I got this regarding my article from penguinice8:
Hand Painted Scarab NEVER did 8 icons. Ive been on 21 motnhs and the max it has EVER done is 7.
I went and replied:
I don't remember saying that an HPS does 8 icons. I you would tell me where I said that then I will apoligize.
He sent me this:
Look in your freaking neopian times article!!! YOU SAID THEY USED TO DO A MAX OF 8 BUT THEY NEVER DID!
I replied:
Okay, I found it now. I'm sorry for my mistake. I had always thought they did 7-8 icons. However, the way you said this to me was VERY rude. I said in my article to KINDLY point out any mistakes.
I then got this:
You dont have to cry you idiot know nothing baby, just burn in hell
He blocked me so I couldn't reply. I don't understand why people are so rude. He didn't say anything about my article, he just yelled at me because of one darned icon!
Okay, I am just really tinkled off right now! I mean, I've gotten many good neomails but all of the BattleDome people keep nitpicking little errors, about things that had nothing to do with my article at all!
That's all from the Ranting Floridian....I need to go get a soda to cool off.

Well, the battledomers are not always a polite bunch (some are, but some aren't) as I've discovered. They should point it out nicely. However, it really is a good idea to check all your facts. It's one thing to leave out a fact, but another to get something wrong. I admit I re-read that section about the HPS several times to check that I was reading it correctly. Don't bother with them. You can tell that they are just screaming "NOTICE MEEEE!".
Don't bother stooping to their level. Nine times out of 10 they're just looking for a fight, so don't worry about that idiot. ^_~

I used Neopet Nexus, but I was told it did 7-8 so maybe it was my fault for not verifying. Besides, I'm human right? To my knowledge, humans make mistakes. Down here in Florida we sure know that.(Thinking of INdecision 2000) Oh well, for every few good ones, you get a bad one. You know, should I embrass all the flamers by putting them on my old Wall Of Lamers? |

I turned off Neofriend requests and had someone screaming (caps) that I was a horrible person and yadda yadda because I wouldn't add them to my neofriend list... I can forgive mistakes, they hapen in the NT all the time (especially with drain life - sometimes people say it only drains 1/11 of hp, but actually it does 11%) but I stared because the HPS is a fairly common weapon. In any case, I prefer not to discuss stuff in artcies I don't know about. I don't have a single weapon from the Smuggler's Cove, so I wouldn't write an article about smuggler's cove weapons as I know that I lack the experience in using them. And believe me, you don't know how good a weapon is (or isn't) until you've used it.. |

Some people are just confrontational. I get mails all the time from idiots that say simply "U SUK!!!!" or "UR PET IS STUPID!!!" And these people, I've noticed, are either hyperactive kids who do the same to people at school as an attention plea and think they can get away with it on neopets too (they don't understand that threats of beating you up don't really work through the internet) or they're people who have no other way to take out their aggression about things and all they need is to find a user who sparks even a bit of jealousy in them and they go off on them.
The best thing to do with those people is just to ignore them. As the old saying goes "You can wrestle with a pig in the mud, but you only get dirty and the pig likes it"

Just press the 'delete' button and forget about it. Did taht really affect you? It was just a rude kid who will get nowhere far in life, so why do you care? When reading hate mail, the best attitude is just to laugh at people's stupidity and then forget about it. Works all the time.  |

I feel happy! I just got my first hate mail. ^__^ This honestly makes me feel better than the other neomails I get!
I don't know why though, I guess it's nice when you disgust someone so much that they just have to point out your flaws.
I was bad though, I stooped to their level. I have no maturity, so it really dosen't matter...
