There's just so many fruit trees on campus, it's ridiculous how people don't take as much advantage of them. I'm talking about limes, avocadoes, red and white guavas, mangoes, jackfruit, mulberries, wild plums, bananas, you name it, all giving fruit rn, and so much just falls off the branches and rot. You have to be very oblivious to not notice the abundance, and sure, they may not look as pretty as store-bought fruits, but hey, free food! I've been picking some of the fruit, to the point my fridge is full but there's no difference on the trees.

I THINK this is a gloat?? lol It's definitely not a rant. I'm excited, but also a bit terrified. lol You know how sometimes you ask about something, and then kind of "accidentally" get WAY more involved than you ever intended? Uh... yeah. Last week, I found a favorite former high school science teacher of mine on Facebook. And I noticed she had posted something about the regional science fair, which is being held at my high school, literally less than a 1/2 mile from my house.... And then the sequence of events went something like this.... 1.) I think, "Oh, hey. That may be kind of cool to at least see the projects... I should ask if there's a time for public viewing. 2.) I send said teacher a private message asking about public viewing. 3.) I get a message back that says yes, there's a time for public viewing. But she's looking for judges. In fact, she said, "PLEASE! I'M Desperate!!" 4.) I hesitantly ask what the requirements are. 5.) She responds with, "At this point we are taking anyone who can read!" Okay then. So... a step above "breathing and has a pulse." 6.) I still attempt to convince her that I'm probably not REALLY qualified.... I mean, I've forgotten SO MUCH science since I graduated high school almost *cough*seventeen*cough* years ago. I only know that "stoichiometry is a word. That has something to do with science. And I think formulas?? 7.) She tells me it would just be elementary, not high school 8.) I still try to convince her (really myself) that that there must be MUCH more qualified people than me... (Can you sense any self-doubt and/or lack of confidence here? No? Me neither... ) but if she's sure I'm qualified... So guess what I'm doing next Saturday morning? Yep. Judging at the regional science fair. o.O

Spring break is here, and I get to watch a bunny named Cinnabun for the week. She's exploring the house right now. Life is great.

I received an email from my university about updates to the school and it says that my university is planning on cutting tuition for next year.
It's only for a couple hundred dollars, but any amount lower is good for me.

Literally yesterday: "Muuh, all these awful things happening in the world caused by people, people obviously not caring about each other or important things that impact everyone even when it's supposed to be their job, kind of hard to stay optimistic about humanity..."
One science fair judging session later: "People are great and so innovative and kids are so smart and amazing and there is so many more good things and great thoughts and minds that can come from people omg."

Why don't more hostels have curtains on their bunks? Because this one does and nothing is more soothing to my introvert heart.

My 9 year NTWF anniversary was in January.
Y'all, I haven't been around in a while but I'll NEVER forget how this place basically helped keep me alive during some of the toughest and most lonely years of my life. I'm grateful for the friendships I'm still enjoying and the people I haven't talked to or heard from in ages. I'm grateful for this whole community and I'm grateful I found it at exactly the right time. (I guess I gotta be grateful for Neopets too because that's how I found this place in the beginning???)
Thanks <3

My boss just called me. "Soo... making all my staff redundant just before the end of the financial year was not a good idea. Do you want to come back and work for us for six weeks, 30 hours a week?"
I dunno, do I like money and having something to do? (Of course I said yes)

Last year, in spring, I lost a glove. I retraced my steps, over and over, but it was gone. And I thought it lost forever.
I mourned it when I needed it, for they were very light gloves that are hard to find, which is useful when it's not too hot when I need to do work. But I only had the one glove.
Fall and winter came, I changed out gloves, and I forgot about it.
And then today, after having given up for so long...
I found it in a lost and found sale.
I was ready to do whatever it took to take it back. Argue with the people that I have it. Go back and return with the other glove to prove that it's mine. Or if push comes to shove, just pay the people.
I approached the people when I was done looking. But because it was the end of the sale... "Oh, it's free now."
And so, we were reunited. And I have a good pair of gloves for the next season.

I lost one of my favourite d20s (I was using it last night), and was all annoyed and ready to give up and come post a mini-rant...but then I found it just as I was about to log on and do so! So this is a mini-gloat instead because seriously, this is such a pretty die in one of my favourite colours, and it rolls so nicely. (I think the only ones I would have been more upset to lose are the dragon dice (Christmas gift from a friend), and my chessex green/purple dice (Christmas gift the year I started playing d&d, the oldest set I still own.))

Because of crazy weather reasons I'm not qualified to explain, today and the coming few days are significantly colder than they have been the past couple weeks, but funnily enough I've really been enjoying it. It's not so cold that we're getting snow, but rather it feels really nice out. Even more, the colder air makes it way easier to breathe, which an allergy-ridden person like me greatly appreciates x3
