So earlier tonight on the Skypechat, the cry for a role-play arose, and that cry was answered with a very simple solution: zombies.
These, however, are not your ordinary zombies.
These are zombies of all shapes and sizes, kinds and breeds. Among all the zombies who crawl and slither and moan for brains, there are zombies who paint, write poetry, and preform complex physic problems. These are zombies who wear hats and paint their nails and go to work every morning. These are zombies who have retained their intelligence, their conscience, and their self-awareness. These are classy zombies.
There are many, many, many different kinds of zombies in this brave new zombie world. There are those who shift and move like your classic zombie, brains and all. There are those who dip their skin in formaldehyde and walk around like cold, unflinching humans. There are those who sew their limbs back together with thread and wear embroidey patterns like elaborate tattoos. There are those who replace their missing limbs and organs with robot parts and speak through machines. There are those who walk and talk and rattle through the city streets in the shape of skeletons. There are those who remember everything about being human, those who are completely reborn after the transformation, and those who remember nothing at all.
Basically, this is a world where the zombie apocalypse has come and gone, and what's left of civilization is now zombie owned and operated. Humans still exist, they're just quite rare. (Hiding or exiled or otherwise.)
The general consensus is that the "hunger" is simply a symptom of the transformation, and can easily be fought over with willpower. Not all zombies succumb to the thought of brains, and those that do waltz around in mindless hoards are promptly taken care of. (Of course, there are always exceptions. This is a world where anything goes, as long as it is undead.)
We still have lots to discuss, plan, and create, before getting to the eventual RP, but here's a general summary of the ideas discussed so far. The role-play will centre around Memento Mori, a speakeasy of sorts that acts as one of the few places where zombies and humans can meet and interact. (It also may or may not be one of the few places that serves brain champagne.)
So, yes. All who are interested are welcome to participate and contribuate. The more, the merrier! (and the yummier.)
