This is the tale of heroes and villains. A tale of a young Meridellian Knight, and a Xweetok Sorceress who is seeking redemption for her past actions. The two will find a web of intrigue older than Altador, older than Miarra... Perhaps, older than Neopia itself!
Cast: Sir Hunter Penn of Meridall (Me): The son of Lady Guinevere and the late Sir Arthur, Hunter has recently arrived in Altador after the wedding ceremony to Princess Miraja of Shenkuu. It seems something is coming, though... Something that might be as vile as Kass.
Lady Alyxandra Altador (Sae): A powerful sorceress, Alyxandra knew only abuse at the hands of the wicked fire Faerie Katriana. In her rage follwing the defeat of the crazed faerie, she destroyed Faerieland. Now, she seeks redemption, especially after Katriana's second defeat...

[Yeah.]
The sun rose over the mountains to Altador's east, and a solitary figure was seen walking the rolling hills. It was a White Lupe in shining armour, with his sword and scabbard positioned behind his back like a cross. His name was Hunter Penn, and he was one of only three Knights First Class in meridell, the others being Tormund Ellis and Jeran Borodere. Hunter was taking a long, solitary walk back to Meridell after his wedding to Princess Miraja was interrupted by some Thieves Guild shenanigans. Nevertheless, the two have exchanged their vows.
"There's nothing like seeing the Summer sun rise over the Miarran mountains. Come to think of it, why are they called the Miarran mountains...?" He pondered to himself, as he decided to take a detour through the bustling capital of Altador.

Xandra put down her book on the wall around Altador and looked out the window of the library in Altador Palace. She wondered what fool wrote a book on Altadorian Defenses when those who read it would know exactly how to invade. She wondered if Katriana had read it...
No. Katriana was gone. She was in some jewel in the Dragontooth Mountains. The Speckled Xweetok's sea-green eyes turned to the young Cybunny on the floor, petting a Faerie Snowbunny. Princess Saeryennan's golden-brown hair swayed a little, as the window was open. Xandra stood up and closed it.
Life had been pretty good ever since Katriana had been defeated a second time. She had that clever little Royal Cybunny to thank for it, and knew those blue eyes had seen more than one supposed the Princess of Altador would see. Saeryennan had prophecy...she had gotten it from an Air Faerie named Nyvenne, and twice it had helped her save Altador.
Xandra's teal hair flowed as she walked out of the library, but not before giving the Snowbunny, Calissa, a little bit of the cobb salad she'd been eating. She sighed a contented sigh. Xandra was glad to remain the security of Altador Palace, since many still didn't trust her.

The city of Altador was glowing, the white buildings reflected the intense sunlight that could almost blind Victor, thankfully the eyrie was hanging himself on the Palace's highest tower and had an iron helmet protecting his face.
He could see everything from there, and had a feeling he had came to the right place to start his adventures. His sisters were at Krawk island trying to fight against evil, while he was exploring Neopia to find his true destiny.
Something caught the eyrie's attention, he could see a golden light coming from the forest! Victor zoomed to the light's direction until he was close enough to see that it was a meridellian knight!
Like a Horus, he landed on a tree branch, hoping the mysterious lupe knight didn't saw him.

Hunter continued to slowly walk through the forest, unaware that Victor was tailing him. "Maybe I should buy some supplies in Altador," he thought to himself.

Victor couldn't hold his curiosity, maybe he would never meet a real knight again!
"Are you..." The eyrie hesitated. "Are you a real knight?" He called loudly, still hanging himself on the tree.

There was a spot of boredom in Nyanthea as she ran a finger across a cream-colored page of the book cradled in her arms, her eyes passing over the crisp, inky sentences. The red Xweetok hoped to understand the material, to be able to tout newfound knowledge, but she could never in a million years wrap her head around why the protagonist would willingly topple a rebellion when she wasn't sure what was happening anymore because the author was now describing the intricacies of a wood carving.
Anthy slammed the book shut and wedged it back onto the shelf. No more of this. Tugging at her silk sleeves (it was a nervous habit), she composed herself and began her usual stroll around the palace. Being a nationally recognized scholar allowed her to access to the palace library, though she was forbidden from visiting much else of the building. It really frustrated her, since this combined with Jemanina's rigorous, timely work made it nigh-impossible for Anthy to meet her sister. Occasionally she would get a deliberately silly "hello-nice-day-isn't-it" from Jem, who would pass by with a sudsy bucket that Anthy suspected her sister wanted to throw at her.
At least today she didn't run into her sister. She had no patience left for the love-hate relationship. Instead, she caught sight of a speckled Xweetok, one giving a sigh laced with both relief and sadness. Yearning for conversation, Anthy walked over with ears pricked.
"Have you read The Slender Pinwheel?" She asked with a curious look. "I was just leafing through it--it's a really bizarre work, isn't it?"

Xandra turned at the sound of the voice. It was a Red Xweetok. She must work here, Xandra thought.
"The Slender Pinwheel?" she said. "Oh yeah, I remember that book. When I was little girl, my mother..."
She laughed.
"My mother would always put the book down after reading for a bit and ask my sister, 'Kalara, why do you suppose...' and she'd always ask about something in the book, and Kaly - well, the Queen of Altador to you, would look at her like - " Xandra made a face that said "I am really really confused right now".
She laughed again.
Kalara, Xandra's older sister, was a tall, slender Green Wocky with long, curly orange hair. She was the wife of King Altador and the mother of Saeryennan, which made her the Queen of Altador.

Hunter nodded. "Yes. My name is Sir Hunter Penn of Meridell, Knight First Class." The Lupe smiled. "You might want to get down from there. I doubt that branch could support the weight of a Magma Neopian!" Hunter sat down on a tree stump, opened a flask of water and took a drink. "My friend Zefyra once told me the sweetest music comes from the creatures of the forest. So be quiet, and you'll hear them."

Anthy giggled at the Xweetok's expression. "I must have read it up to eight times over and never did I understand it. I kept trying to convince myself that there was a deeper meaning, some sort of--some sort of allegory to it. Eventually I went to my sisters--first Cam, who gave me a blank look and said something like..." She fumbled through her brain and finally said, mimicking the blue Kyrii's oddly accented, condescending tone, "'Baby's first absurdism?'" Giving a cackle, she pinched her forehead with shaking shoulders. "Jem and Ava were no better. They just asked, oh, oh, what is that book and why does it have a name like that? And I'd say, I don't know, but I think that's the point. And they'd just...stare."
