Imaran backed up against the wall, surrounded by his chasers, the bronze item clutched to his chest. How did I get mixed up with that Kyrii, he wondered to himself. The guards grimaced, as they grabbed him roughly by the shoulders.
I was just wondering, how do you punctuate the thought in this piece, and do you insert a ? mark anywhere?

I need to know that answer to the same question, I'm stealing Tracys work. No joking, I'm having the same problem.

You can use a single quote.
'I wonder what that is all about?' He thought to himself.
Some use an asterisk. *Gee, did I leave the gas on at home?*
In the end, as long as you stay consistent in the work, it should work out. The single quote may have problems in the HTML coding. The asterisk will work fine.

Sometimes making things in italtic like This looks bad I thought to myself. Yeah, I always use italics.

While some people do use * * or ' ' for thoughts, neither is the proper way. Italics, yes, are the thing to do for thoughts. You can find this, and some other dialogue writing help here: www.writing-world.com/fiction/dialogue.html
