So did anyone get the new Kanto remake? I've heard vaguely that there was a ton of vehement naysaying leading up to it, but I'm finding it a lot of fun, especially fiddling around with the pokeball and its features. I work in an electronics department now and I bought the game on my break because I had a premonition it was going to be sold out by the time my shift was over. I was correct. xD; I got mine with a discount, but it's still sitting in the mailbox. We had a blizzard yesterday and the mailbox was frozen shut. xD.

So playing through Let's Go Eevee, I noticed something a little suspicious. In Mr. Fuji's house, I noticed a calendar hanging on the back wall. (This isn't the only place the calendar can be found, but it's where I first noticed it) The calendar has a picture on it that almost looks like a very simple map of a region. The only thing is, it doesn't look like any region that we've seen in the series that I can think of at the top of my head. I apologize for not having a picture on hand of it, but if anyone else has the games, could they take a look at it and tell me what they think? Is it referencing something we've already seen in the series, or could it possibly be a hint of the next new region? (And if the latter, what real-life location could it correspond to? The only thing that sticks out to me at the moment after doing a little searching is that it bears a slight resemblance to the Niigata Prefecture in Japan)

New Detective Pikachu trailer has me getting more hyped than I would like to. I am normally very cynical about movies like this but...it looks so good. ;.;

Sword and Shield definitely looks like a traditional Pokemon game. (Wild battles, random encounters, and Gyms all return) Anyone that had their expectations heightened for something Breath of the Wild caliber probably aren't going to get it for these games. I'm fine with traditional though; Pokemon's always been the type of game to evolve slowly over time.
Scorbunny is super cute, so I'm leaning towards that for right now. Sobble is cute too, but I'm not really feeling Grookey. Ultimately though, my choice will end up depending on what their final evolutions look like.
Personally, I was kind of hoping for an Australia region, but England is fine too. Lore-wise though, Galar could be very interesting. I'll bet you that Galar is the region that Kalos went to war with during AZ's time. If you remember your world history, England and France have been at war with each other many, many times in the past.

One of the first things that I noticed about Grookey is that it's design is somewhat similar to Chespin (the head leaves, to be precise), so that's probably going to raise some more theories. Sobble seems to be a cross between Kecleon and Froakie (Abilities/Hidden Abilities based on the brief appearance in the trailer). Still, I'm leaning towards Scorbunny for now, which would make the 8th gen the 3rd time I did not choose the Water starter as I traditionally have in the past (after Fennekin and Rowlet).
Although it hasn't been shown yet, I'm pretty certain that customization will return, but to what extent, who knows?

I have immediately, I have grown attached to the fire starter of this generation. (Scorbunny an orange rabbit! It's my favorite animal with my favorite colors in its color scheme, of course I love it.) Grookey and Sobbel are really cute, too. I quite like the three starters so far.
I don't know what else to comment on, but I think the names Pokemon Sword and Shield is pretty catchy.

I am all in on Team Sobble because Sobble is cute nobody here is leaning toward it right now. XD
Here's the list of starters I picked for each generation: Gen 1: Pikachu (Charmander in Leaf Green) Gen 2: Totodile (Cyndaquil in Heart Gold) Gen 3: Treecko (Torchic in Alpha Sapphire) Gen 4: Piplup Gen 5: Oshawott Gen 6: Froakie Gen 7: Litten (Rowlett in Ultra Moon) Gen 8: Sobble

I am mad ready for this game. Gonna preorder both copies, get both on launch night, and give my buddy a wad of cash to get me some merch from the Pokemon Center right before release in November when he visits Tokyo.
I am looking forward to see what elements of the UK are going to be in the game! I already like the look of the countryside very much, and there's even a pokemon equivalent to the White Horse which makes me happy!
Perhaps we'll get some more eeveelutions with this one? Then again, I say that to myself every year...

I like the fire and water starters, but I'm not diggin' that grass starter at all. Maybe when I see the rest of its evolutions...
My favs from each Gen: Gen 1 Charmander Gen 2 Totodile Gen 3 Torchic Gen 4 Piplup Gen 5 Oshawott (never played this gen) Gen 6 Fennekin (never played this gen) Gen 7 Rowlet (never played this gen)
3 Fire types, 3 water types, and poor lonely Rowlet.

I don't know why I get so much joy from the internet meme going around of the girl trainer being Scottish. All I know it fills me with great joy and I wish it is acknowledged in some way in the games/anime/general official media.

All I know it fills me with great joy and I wish it is acknowledged in some way in the games/anime/general official media. Sadly I bet the anime will just use a very generic voice... Otherwise I would love it XD And yeah, the meme is just growing. No one even cares about the boy trainer, it's all about the girl! She's the best! XD

Got to watch Pokemon Detective Pikachu in theatres earlier today. Playing the 3DS game won't spoil the movie as much due to differences between it and the film counterpart, but the plot is influenced by the game. There are nods to the series roots, a couple of which I'll describe below in spoilers. - The Mewtwo captured just happens to be the same one from Kanto (thanks to the line '20 years ago', placing the Legendary in 1999, when Red, Blue and Yellow were released in the Americas, Yellow moreso), and as a nod to Pokemon the 1st Movie, appears in a tank similar to its film debut.
- Detective Pikachu singing, of all themes, the first theme from the anime series (and to a lesser extent, the Orange League and X and Y), to gut busting hilarity. You know the one.
Also, I don't know if it occurs at all movie theatres, but I did get a couple of Promo cards.

Apparently, there's a new Pokemon Rumble game out, for Android only, but there will probably be a iOS release later. Gameplay appears to be similar to Pokemon Rumble World. I only noticed due to the My Nintendo rewards program
