I'm fairly sure Ravenatore is NTWF, she has a comic called "Aboard the Black Dubloon."
Also NTWF is "Not All Werelupes Are Bad" (Short Story) by anna_invincible
Aboard the Black Dubloon by ravenatore - Ooh, me loves the art. The joke is pretty good, but crazier antics would have made it even funnier.
Front Row by ssjelitegirl - This is HILARIOUS!! You ended it at the perfect place, too. Putting in more panels would have deprived me of the pleasure of imagining what happens next. Excellent job, Hunty. The only possible thing that could have made it even better is have the yooyu glowing red like it's about to explode.
Spooky by Komori - As always, a great job! There were so many funny elements to this. First off, I love Echo's dye job. Second, Claw's suggested altercation with the Techo Fan was funny. And of course, poor Tombstones' visit to the slushie shop was funny. You do a good job at showing us what this crazy game would be like if it were real.

Active Thread! I'll just do 2 of my personal favorite comics though, i'm busy this week =/ Front Row: XD I love AC comics; there hilarious. This one, is in fact one of my favorites. It was just like a tournament, with people shouting of what the team should do, and the ending was terrific. Great comic ^^ Spooky: I love your comics, this IMO, was one of your best. I love anything that has to do with the Techo Fan, and when he was hit on the head and the stars, i found that hilarious XD. I wouldn't know which slushie to choose either I also like the way you have the background in black and white, and the main characters with colour It makes the main point obvious. Everything else was good too, if i didn't review you. Looking forward to Issue 299 and especially Issue 300.

I know. Anything and everything goes into the NT nowadays. It's just not the same as old times, when the range of winners was usually concentrated in the NTWF. Now, though, some sections have no NTWFers at all. The articles are particularly bad.
(I've also seen quite a few works where the author has had their account deleted shortly after their efforts are published. Go figure.)
That's one of the reasons why a lot of people a moving to sights like Rescreatu, coupled with things like completely unnecessary site makeovers. I myself have an account, though I still spend more time on Neo.
The fact is that Neopets has become somewhat of an internet monster, and as it gets bigger and bigger and bigger, you must fear that it will burst some day.
I must confess that I have all but abandoned my pets by now, mainly because they're, well, ugly, and do stupid poses. There are only a few things that keep me on, and the NT is by far the most prominent of these, but I fear for its future.

Only that first paragraph is partially on topic, and it is sort of an insult to those who do have their works in recent NTs. And there are a lot of reasons why the reviews threads might be dead, perhaps the Altador Cup?

I was just trying to say that times are changing, drastically. I'm sorry as well for going off topic, so to make up for it, I'll do some comic and SS reviews

I think one of the reasons there aren't many reviews this week is twofold:
1. Being the 4th of July week, as well as the height of summer vacations, many people are out this week.
2. With the coming of Issue 300, a major event, many people have their attentions turned on that.
As for the comment about all the new writers, I find no problems with it. As you may notice, several of those new writers stop by here and join the NTWF after I have invited them to do so. A little variety is good.

Ditto what Patjade said. Okay, okay, now I guess I HAVE to do some reviews . . . I'll start right away. COMICS Yurble Goalie? by fruitcupandspoons and Patjade - LOL, I think the Yurble Janitor has become as much a symbol of NT comics as the Meepit. In any case, this is a really good example of one of his comics. It calls attention to his many past roles and the things he will doubtless do in the future. Nice artwork, too. You could really see the emotion.

SHORT STORIES
Not All Werelupes Are Bad by anna_invincible - Overall, this was a really cute story. I like the idea of playing with a Werelupe in the middle of the night. ^_^ Although the story does not have a strong storyline, meaning that all by itself the plot isn't terribly compelling, Chili's voice really made it fun to read. She's really fun to read about.
This, for instance, was really funny IMO.
Now for some concrit if you don't mind. ^_^
There is too much going on in this sentence. My main problem with it the use of 2 forms of the word "prick". You should never use the same word twice in one sentence.
This is a sentence fragment because of the tense. You could have said "snored" and it would be fine. In any case, I'm not sure if you mean Shyiira is beside Chilli in the same room or if she is in the adjoining room.
This is a POV problem. If she's not inside, how would she know what time the clock would read?
The "flouds in a carrot bin" was cute, but because Starfeather isn't even a character in the story, I don't really care to read a whole paragraph about him. Over-description is a very common weakness, one that I've been working on for years. ^_^"
Overall, though, this was a very enjoyable read. Good job!

I feel slightly bad for the lack of reviews this week, so I'll add a few just because if I were in this week's Time I would like to have my stuff reviewed. So...to business...: ComicsYurble Goalie by Patjade and fruitcupandspoonsLovely art and lovely expressions from all the characters. The script is nice and clear and the Yurble Foreman has to be one of my favourite Neopian characters. A great job all round. Front Row by ssjelitegirlHehe...your comics are always beautiful and wonderfully detailed and this one is no exception. I'm not really sure what else to say except: great work and I can't wait for your next comic. Spooky by ghostkomorichuI feel kind of bad that I can never offer your any concrit for your comics. They are just too impressive for words. This one, like all your others, is witty, detailed and something that lingers in the mind long after you read it. Can't wait for the next Spooky comic. Aboard the Black Dubloon by ravenatoreTruly, it took me a while to get the joke. But that's just me and the fact that it's midnight here. Once I did, in fact, understand the comic it thought it was lovely. The art is original and detailed - it's obvious that you're an excellent artist. I particularly liked the colour - minimalistic but not lacking at all - it really helped to enhance the party atmosphere of the comic. Nice work. ...short stories will (hopefully) be coming tomorrow as I'm dead on my feet.

Team Spirit by kittygirl5170 - I really liked this, Kitty! It shows the conflict that I imagine Shenkuu was going through after the late "roster change" (AKA putting the right avatars with the right names. >.>) Foltaggio's character really showed, as did Mirsha and Xana's. I only wish you had made it a little longer, because such character-driven stories usually work better when the reader is given more time to get to know everyone. For instance, maybe you could have written out the last minute or so of the game, so I can SEE the characters in action, and their reactions to each other. Remember, show don't tell. ^_^

Aboard the Black Dubloon by ravenatore I didn't really find the joke in this comic to be that funny, but I find that, as I hear more jokes, as I read more stories, as I watch more movies, I only get more critical and my tastes, my likes, what really gets to me, lessens and grows narrower. That is, I'm hard to please these days.
Your art, however, simply entranced me. I love the look of hand-drawn art, and the pencil drawings like this are the most beautiful, in my opinion. Your selective coloring was incredible and nicely done and really gave this comic its own flavor, its own taste and uniqueness that was simply incredible. Your fonts were all easy to read and fit the comic well, and the dialogue bubbles were all well-placed, so I was pleased with those aspects of this comic as well. Some of the pets' expressions were a bit hard to discern, but, for the most-part, they were really great. I personally love the almost animé-like quality that your art has.
Yurble Goalie by Patjade and fruitcupandspoons The joke was funny, mildly so for me, but it still made me smile. Perhaps, had I ever seen Bob (that is his name, right?) in the Lost Desert, it might have proved funnier, but since I recall him only from Altador, that sadly wasn't so.
Your artwork was very nice as well, soft with smooth lines and really good coloring. The background in the first frame looks somewhat off to me, but I'm not entirely sure why it does. Simply the amount of contrast in color and the thickness of some of the Yurble's exterior lines might be why, but I don't know. The softer backgrounds in the last two frames fit really well, and the Poogle is simply terrifying.
Front Row by ssjelitegirl Umm... uh-oh?
As usual, I really loved your art. My only objection is that, in the second panel, Saura's dialogue overlaps with the Skieth's eye, so as I read downwards, I'd at first thought it was the Skeith speaking, yelling at Saura (and I apologise if I've poorly put this into words). Also, on the grammatical side of things, in the first panel, Saura should've said "these seats" instead of "those seats" ("those" implies "there," while "these" implies "here").
The joke. Well, it was funny, of course. I didn't quite laugh, though, as much as my eyes simply widened and I stared at the screen thinking, "Oh, no...this cannot be good." That response, though, was a good thing. The expressions of all the pets around the Yooyu and the "...and he missed" bit certainly drove the "This is just great! *sarcasm*" feeling home, which was awesome for me.
Spooky by ghostkomorichu I loved your art. Again. Still. Must I even say it anymore? :)
I really liked this comic's jokes. I can't be certain if there were any I missed, but I certainly caught three of them. The hot dog one was hilarious, and I really liked how the people and the slushies began piling up in each panel (the slushie dispenser's always having a different pattern on the front was an awesome touch, too). The team points joke was great as well, and it didn't feel anticlimactic, which was quite a possibility after the hot dog joke in the preceding panel. This also explains why Haunted Woods didn't make the finals (XD). Then, of course, I thought it was just hilarious that Claw knocked out the Techo Super-Fan. Poor guy, but he had it coming.

I still imagine Foltaggio as the girly guy lutari.
