I wrote this story for one person, for my muse; Scar. In the course of a couple of weeks, I completed this story, and I dare say it is one of my best work yet. A big thanks to Scar for everything he did for me, editing my errors, writing one scene I couldn't do by myself, helping me when I had a block, etc etc. Also a BIG thanks to Leoness and Ikkin for their comments and support ^_^ The story will update twice a week, but I'm not fixing any days ^_^ It should run for around one month in total. Pretty short, but hey, we need stories that finish quickly once in a while, heh. Before we begin, here is a small Lexicon. Everything in it is related to the story, but I'll leave you to find the link by yourself, through reading <3 (I may add more things to it if I think of anything else worth entering) Whole Story: Prologue Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three Chapter Four Chapter Five Conclusions and Epilogue

Prologue
"Ohh, it's out of the question young man! Come on now, just a wittle day shopping? After that we could go see a movie!"
Scar laughed as Aeri kept on babbling, at the other end of the phone. "But are you even free to do that? I mean, you DID say you'd have some meeting to attend to soon."
"I wouldn't ask you if I couldn't! The meeting is tonight, but by tomorrow I should have solved pretty much all of the matters I need to. Boring stuff I bet." He grinned. For some reasons he could just see his friend sticking out her tongue right now.
"What is it for anyway?"
"My apartment block's changing owner or something. Think you'd be free in two days? There's a movie I'd like to see going out then."
"Sure, when should I pick..."
"YEEK! Sorry Scar, I need to get prepared. Time really does pass fast.. I bet it's your fault heh. I'll call you later tonight, how's that?"
"Sure, see ya Aeri."
"BYE!"
Scar grinned as he put down the phone. This Aerisa always was much fun to be around, even if it was just on the phone. Sure, she was a bit pushy at time, but she always had only the best intentions, and that's what mattered. Right now, she was trying the best she could to cheer him up, and he direly needed it. He slowly got up from his chair, closing the curtains of his bedroom. Soon, 10 years would've passed... 10 years since he saw them all die before his eyes.
He walked to his desk, taking a book out of it. He had been very surprised when CHRONOS came to give him something for his 21 st birthday. He was even MORE surprised to see what the gift was. He remembered his very words...
You are a man now... make sure never to forget the men who TRULY meant something for you in your life, and what they did to ensure you had a good one, whether or not they succeeded...
He jumped on his bed, opening the book. The first picture to greet him was one of a large, smiling man; Jierdan Akanessia. Right next to him was a Robotic Korem, Armand. Even now he could recognize him at first glance. He had spent almost all of the first part of his life with him. He was a mentor, a caretaker, and a friend. His only friend. Never during his youth had he been around other childrens. Armand was all he had. He kept browsing the album. More and more pic of these two, occasionally with a young child with deep brown eyes and messy hair. As memories surfaced, he couldn't help smile. He sometime had difficulty remembering everything. But what he could remember were happy memories. Memories of a true family.
But then, he came to the very last picture. A man with harsh features and an angular chin. His eyes were closed, as he deposited a kiss on a young baby's forehead lovingly. He looked just like the way he did when he had seen him, ten years ago... He slammed the book shut as memories of that day came to him. Soon the memory of a day turned into that of a week, months, years... and he burst out crying.
*.*.*.*
Few families were as dangerous in the history of the world as the Dessan Family. For generations, these Rogue Chronomancers murdered, tortured, stole, destroyed. Their crimes against humanity were known even to the gods. To meet a Dessan was to meet a cruel end. The very members of this family weren't much better off than slaves, always held under the cruel grips of their elders. Some managed to escape, such as Keloid Dessan, and live a normal life. But only one had the courage to turn against it, trying to right the wrong; Carcharodan Dessan. Today, only one member of it is still alive, having cast off what once was, and trying to live a good life. However, not everyone in the world has forgotten the ancient deeds of this family, and many, even today, search frantically for a way to have their revenge...
*.*.*.*
Scar waited, listening to the phone ring at the other end. He hadn't counted the number of time it had rung. It could've easily been 50 times. But he didn't care. He was too worried for that. Neither he, nor anyone else, had heard from Aerisa for 3 days. She often left for quest and the like. But not without telling him. Not when they had things planned together. He put down the phone, sighing loudly. Just what could've happened?
He jumped as the phone rang again, throwing himself on it.
"AERI!?"
"Sorry Scar, it's Ikkin." A wave of despair seemed to take him over as the Kitsune's voice raised. "I've been trying to contact you for ages. Listen, I think I smelled traces Aeri earl..."
"Where!?" He cut her, his eyes wide.
"In the Roleplay Park, but..." She didn't have the time to finish that already he had hung up.
*.*.*.*
"So... cold..." The little dragon hid deeper inside the bush she had found as only protection against the rain. Water going down scales was less annoying than on skin, but it felt much cooler. She shivered. Good thing Dragons were hot blooded, otherwise...
"AERISA!?" She raised her head as she heard the familiar voice, unsure about what to do. A part of her – shame, told her to stay hidden. Another, however, wanted to run toward him, but...
"SQUEEK!"
"Aeri?" Scar turned himself in direction of the sound he had heard, walking, trying to find where it had come from. Was that... He spotted it, when he saw a white spot... Crawling on the ground painfully was Aerisa, in her small Dragon form, her right back leg flat on the ground, seemingly unable to be moved. Her left, while used, seemed just as painful... She went out of her bush, her eyes full of tears as she dragged herself and her leg toward her friend. He took her gently in his arm, putting her inside his coat, careful not to harm her, feeling her fall asleep of exhaustion...
*.*.*.*
"No no NO! I will NOT cry on her leg!"
"Aww c'mon, not even for a Scooby Snack?"
"I'M NOT SCOOBY-DOO!" Sev shouted at Kit, as Ikkin rolled her eyes.
"Guys, there's more important things going on right now, stop it before Scar come to freeze you both in time, he's stressed enough as it is..."
"Anyone figured out what's bothering him?" Kit asked.
"I don't think so, but Aeri's current state certainly WON'T help him..."
*.*.*.*
"Her right leg is broken, and her left one also severely damaged. How she managed to walk on it is beyond me..." Ginz sighed, looking at the small Dragon from the corner of her eyes. "From what I've seen these damage aren't ones that stayed from her human form, they were somehow done when she was in her Dragon form."
"But you can heal her, can't you?"
Ginz sighed, crossing her arms. "I won't lie; I can't. Dragons are extremely resistant to magic; it includes healing one. Even one this small has a resistance much above normal humans. The only way to heal her would be for her to turn back in her human form, but I'm guessing it would be painful for her to. I did the best I could by bandaging her legs so that she'll be unable to use them. But what truly bother me, is that she doesn't even look at me, or you. You're her best friend, try to find what's bothering her, alright?"
Scar nodded, keeping his head low as Ginz walked out of the room. Most likely she'd tell everything to Kit and Ikkin. Maybe they'd leave. Maybe not... He walked to his bed, finding the small dragon resting in the middle of it, on a pillow. She reminded him of a cute little pet, even if he knew very well she wasn't...
"Aerisa?" He caressed the hair on top of her small head, but she kept her eyes away from him.
"Mweeerk..."
"Aerisa I know you can talk even in this form. Tell me what happened." He saw her let out a huge sigh.
"...I'm too ashamed to..." Scar grabbed her muzzle sweetly and turned her head, raising it slightly so he could see her eyes.
"Don't be. You're there for me when I have problems, why couldn't I?"
*.*.*.*
"I went to the meeting. It started normal enough... Just legal stuff... And then it got... weird... I started smelling something, the other people there started looking dizzy...they became paralyzed..." She stopped talking a little, lapping some water from a bowl Scar held in his hand.
"What happened then?"
"I'm.. not sure... it happened so fast... next thing I knew I was in my dragon form running away. Something hit me from behind. I had to gather my energy to make my second wing appear and fly to safety... I'm strong. I could've fought. But I was... too overwhelmed to..." She turned her head, looking at the floor.
"Don't be ashamed. I'll contact the officials and they'll..." He raised himself as he talked, but he didn't even get the chance the finish what he was about to say.
"NO!" Aerisa jumped, bitting his sleeve. Her hold there was short however, for as soon as her legs touched the bed, she let out a long, blood curling skree. Scar simply stayed there, frozen, his eyes fixed on her. "He... he's after you...."

I apologize for posting it so late in the day, but at least it's here now!
Chapter 1- Miso
Scar walked in the street, sending occasional glances to the shops around. Aerisa lived in the tourist area which, while extremely busy at time, was pretty quiet during this season. Nothing looking out of the ordinary. Except perhaps... He walked to the front door of Aerisa's old apartment building. He knew full well she would've done anything to prevent him from going there, which is why he had lied to her. He hated to, but... He needed to understand what had happened. Opening the door, he found an awfully empty lobby. Usually there were always one or two of the visitor staying there, chatting and the like... But there was... absolutely nothing.... He walked forward a bit, trying, in vain, to hear something in the silence...
"May I help you?" He jumped as he heard a voice rise behind him. How... he looked at the man behind him. At first glance, he seemed normal. His skin wasn't too dark, nor too pale. His hair, going down to his cheek, was of a light brown color. His clothes didn't look out of the ordinary either. But... This wide smirk on his face, and his purple eyes... They just sent a shiver down his spine. "I do fear this area is off limit, but if you need anything..." The pronunciation of the man was correct, but he had a fairly heavy – practically exotic – accent, that Scar was unable to recognize...
"Erm, who are you?"
"Ah! Forgive my manners.. I am Miso. New owner of this building. Now if we could go back to the reason you are here..." The smirk again...
"No, it's just me who came to a wrong address. I won't bother you anymore, if you'll forgive m..." Scar started walking around him, toward the exit, but just as he passed next to him the man grabbed his arm, pulling him so that their faces were right in front of each others..
"Beautiful eyes you've got there... A great, deep brown... We've got a name for these eyes where I come from... Wanna know what it is?" Scar stayed silent as the man talked. He almost sounded like a predator to a prey... "Dessan."
He violently pulled his arm from his hold, backing away, not stopping to look into his eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"I'm sure you don't... heheheh... Have a good day..." Scar left the building in a storm, preventing him from hearing him mutter... "While you still can..."
*.*.*.*
"Welcome home Scar! Want a cookie?" Leoness looked at Scar cheerfully, taking him a plate of fresh baked cookies.
"How's Aeri?" Leoness was taken aback slightly by how cold Scar seemed to be, but tried to ignore it.
"She's fine, she ate voraciously earlier, but... Are you sure you're alright?" She tried to look into his eyes, in vain.
"Yeah, I just need to relax a bit... thanks for agreeing to take care of Aerisa by the way."
"Hey, she IS my sis after all..." She saw a small smile appear on his face as he left the room.
*.*.*.*
Scar put his bathrobe over his shoulder. In his haste to take a shower, he had completely forgotten to fetch some spare clothes. Not that he blamed himself. Even after a good, warm shower, he still couldn't get rid of the creepy feeling he had felt at the sight of this "Miso"... Still, he wasn't very comfortable going around Aerisa with only his bathrobe on, no matter how close friends they were, and she unfortunately happened to be resting in his room. He took his dirty clothes, throwing them down the chute. Not like he had any choices, really...
Aerisa smiled when she heard the door of the room open, and saw Scar enter. She made her two wings appear, painfully flying toward him. "Scarry! I see you finally went to the dark side of the wardrobe!"
"Very funny Aeri, and shouldn't you be resting? How are your legs?" He took her in his arms, which, he could guess, was what she wanted all along.
"Not much better, actually. But my strength is coming back! I've gotta practice if I want to build it up." Scar grinned, gently putting her on a chair and patting her head.
"Just make sure you don't strain yourself, alright? Else Leoness will blame me, I'm your caretaker right now after all."
"As you are every time I hurt myself, hee?" She licked his hand playfully, and Scar couldn't help smile widely. Funny how she always managed to make him forget everything that was on his mind, no matter what form she was in.
"Do that one or two more time and you'll officially be my pet." He smiled as he walked toward his drawer, getting some clothes from it. "I'll be right back, I need to get changed. Want me to bring you some cookies while I'm at it?"
"By all mean, do!" She waved her tail as Scar left, but lowered it and her head as soon as he was out of sight. She couldn't tell him.. She just couldn't...
*.*.*.*
Leoness heard a noise as she took out some more cookies from the oven. She raised herself, seeing the chronomancer enter the room. "Hey Scar, feeling better?" She smiled when she saw him answer with a small smile of his own.
"Yeah, mostly I'm glad to see Aeri's happy despite everything. Thanks for taking care of her while I went to do my errands."
Leoness smiled widely as her friend sit at the counter, taking an hot cookie from the plate she was holding. "It's not a problem, really! I just wish she'd tell us what happened for her to get injured like that, if we want to be able to do something about it, we need to know..."
Scar coughed softly as Miso returned to his mind. He had always been an horrible liar... but something inside him told him to hide everything from them, especially after meeting the man himself... "I'll keep alert in case she let any info slip. But until then you should go home, Leoness, I feel bad making you stay here for so long, away from Strife..."
"Again it's no problem, but I'll leave you if that's what you want. Call me if anything comes up, alright?"
He nodded, smiling, helping her grab her coat, and closing the door behind her after a last wave. The farther she'd be from him, the safer she'd be...
*.*.*.*
“Sooo ... you doing anything Friday night?”
Nick stared quizzically at Kit for a moment before wagging his tail slightly. “And why's that, Kit?” he asked.
Kit turned to look at the ceiling. “Oh, I was just wondering what a strong, handsome young canine like you would be doing all alone on a weekend,” he said in a low, demure voice.
Nick raised an eyebrow. “Alone? I didn't say I was alone.”
“Then does that mean you have a someone to spend the night with, Nick dear?” replied Kit, leaning in closer towards Nick.
“Of course I do, dear Kit,” Nick went on, returning Kit's longing gaze with one of his own.
“Is that a yes?”
Nick smiled. “To Huggsy? Yes.”
Kit lost some of his posture as Nick walked away, giggling. He was SOO sure he'd get him this time!! During moment like these, he almost thought of giving up flirting. Just almost. He shrugged it off. Maybe he'd have more chance after lunch? He thought, smiling. He left the 'bloid, walking through Splattertown. He had always disliked how empty it was at this time of the day, but today for some reasons, it made him especially uneasy... As if the void was only waiting to jump on him.
I shouldn't go this way, no really, I shouldn't...
The feeling got more intense the farther he walked, leaving him to shiver as he hastened his step. Only when the 'bloid was out of his sight, did he consider the possibility that this feeling was a warning from his clairvoyance.
"Have you planned anything for this Friday?" Kit jumped as he heard the accented voice coming from next to him, turning his head to look at the stranger. There wasn't anyone a second ago...
Bad man! Bad man ahead! Stay away from me!
"N.. not so far, no..." He stared at the man for some seconds. Something told him that normally, he'd get creeped out by him... But for some reasons, both his clairvoyance and his brain seemed to have shut down... "Do I know you?"
I think I'll run away. I really should run away. Why ain't I running away?
"No, I don't think you do... I'm here on business, searching for some things before settling some things with someone..." He laid back on the wall, grinning deviously. "And it just so happen you have something that could be of use to me..."
RUN, MY SELF! RUN! CREEPY GUY, GET AWAY FROM ME!
Something screamed deep inside Kit, but he was unable to hear it, his brain staying hopelessly shut. He only managed to take a step backward. "And what would it be...?"
The man pointed toward his pants' pocket. "Nice Tarot deck you've got there... Would you mind if I was to, oh.... borrow it?"
NO!
The giant, evil smile that spread over the man's face and the blood curling scream that rose inside of his own soul snapped him back to his sense. Run. Run. Run now. Kit panted, trying to get back to the 'bloid, to safety, as soon as possible.
"YOU are MINE!" The man's voice rose from behind him, and he felt a strong, painful hit on his back, making him fall over... and lose all consciousness...

C'mon Kit, don't give up. xD
Didn't Kit say that his tarot deck was attuned to him, or something like that? It'd be interesting to see how his deck responds to a stranger...

Chapter 2 – The Loft
"Cookie! Gimme!" Aerisa nibbled on Scar's finger playfully, until he gave up and gave her one.
"You love looking like a cute little pet, don't you?" He smiled, eating a cookie himself. Leoness being far away from his tower, he felt more relaxed, as that would mean she'd be totally out of danger, as were anyone else... or so he thought.
"Yeah, it makes so many things that wouldn't be otherwise socially acceptable!" She smiled before attacking the chocolate chip cookie. It was hard to eat something with her front paws being a quadruped and unable to use her legs to hold herself, but it wasn't as if something like that would stop her from enjoying some sugary goodness!
"Aeri, you never even BOTHERED being socially acceptable..." Scar grinned. He knew her well enough to know she did things other considered embarrassing on a frequent basis, even in her human form.
"Thus why managing to get rid of these boundaries is so very enjoyable!" She nodded vigorously, making Scar burst out laughing. "Now, the day is still pretty young, and we've got cookies. How about we go play some video games?"
He couldn't help being softened by her draconic smile and her waving her tail so very happily, even if he couldn't get the fact they were both likely under some risk away from the back of his head... "I just hope for you you're a better player with your paws than your hands, missy!"
"HEY!"
*.*.*.*
"..you haven't forgotten what day is coming, haven't you?" Aerisa looked at Scar, sleeping next to her. He looked so adorable, and yet... She could just tell his sleep was uneasy, burdened by everything that had happened. The anniversary, her disappearance, and injuries when she was found. Things he only knew a part of... or at least she hoped so. If he had tried to do his own investigation, like he liked to do... She didn't have the heart to think about how much trouble they'd be in... HE'D be in... "I wish I could do something for you... be there for you..." She slowly crawled to him, putting her face close to his own. "As more than..." She only rubbed her nose on his cheek, before turning her head, looking away. "G'night..."
*.*.*.*
He was there, sitting in the hallway, next to the door of his old study. He remembered... that's where he was the day of the attack. That's where he was when he met his father. But... why was he there... Now? He wrapped his arms around his legs, putting his head on his knee...
"Scarven?" He raised his head, seeing a man walk toward him, kneeling in front of him and taking his shoulders firmly in his hands. "Take her and RUN."
*.*.*.*
"...dad?" Scar was awaken by a huge shock. His clocktower shook under the power of an explosion, followed by more of them. Aeri shrieked the first time one of them happened, trying to crawl to the safety of his arms, shrieking more as more happened, scaring her and hurting her legs as it shook her small dragon body.
Take her and RUN. As his father's words came back to his mind, he grabbed her and ran, unsure where to go, unsure what to do... He felt her pressing her head against his chest, holding his arm with her front paws, unwillingly piercing his pajama and skin with her claws... He ran in the hallway, opening the door to the stairs...
"I hope you enjoyed your day like I told you... because it was your last!" Miso drew a card from Kit's deck, slamming it to wall without even caring to look at it... He smiled widely as a sword appeared in his hand, looking at the man in front of him, and his previously missed prey...
Scar stayed there, frozen, shivering... He was in a kind of trance... "SCAR YOU IDIOT! RUN!" Aeri plunged her fangs deep into his arm, snapping him out of it completely. He didn't have the time to shout his pain from the deep bite that he turned around, running away from Miso who laughed maniacally.
"YOU CAN'T GET ANYWHERE, DESSAN!"
As Miso started running after him, he couldn't do anything but realize it was true. In his haste, he had forgotten to take his pocket watch, and he'd never have the time to teleport themselves before...
Before he even could finish his thought, he felt.. something... A space and time portal, opening... Just before Miso could strike him with his sword, he ran through it, teleporting away...
*.*.*.*
"YEEEEEEEEKK!!" Aerisa was thrown away from Scar's arms as they landed, rolling on the ground. The portal had closed right after they had gone through it, but she was in too much pain right now to think about where they were...
"Aeri?" Scar raised himself from the ground, seeing his friend on the ground some meters away. While from her grimace he could say she was obviously in pain, seeing her safe filled him with relief.
"I'm here... going as it is now my legs will never heal..." She tried crawling toward him with her front paws, trying her best to ignore the pain. "Where are we?"
Scar looked around quizzically, trying to find the answer to this question. A crystal Palace laid in ruin around them, yet no sky could be seen above the part of it's roof that had fallen. Memories made him remember what this place was, memories of a fight he had fought to protect the land, and of which Aerisa had been one of the victim... "It's... The Loft! But it can't be, the Loft doesn't look like that... It's beautiful, peaceful..."
"Whether it is or not, I think this place was corrupted. It sure FEELS like it..." She had always been talented in feeling and tracking magical energies, but usually, she couldn't feel them as she herself turned this ability off. But this corruption was so strong, she could feel it even though her power wasn't in use.
Scar sighed, taking her in his arms. "Anyway we shouldn't stay around here. If he can track portals he'll be here soon... better for us to go somewhere else..."
*.*.*.*
Miso frowned, staring at the void. How DARED a deceased Dessan interfere with his hunt, allowing his prey to escape him! That dragon also was to blame, snapping him out of his trance before he could even harm him! What he couldn't understand, however, was why SHE hadn't been affected by it. Even when he had met her as a human she had been unaffected by the trance, and this power was supposed to affect EVERYONE it was used against... Bah, no matter if he had another night to live. He'd get him soon enough... Miso thought, smirking.
*.*.*.*
"I. Hate. Night shifts..." Ikkin banged her head on the desk slightly. She was a very serious mod, but nothing could ever make her like night shifts; being forced to stay up all night, with absolutely nothing to do, when she could be spending said night chatting with her friends, or even sleeping... All she could do was HOPE something interesting requiring a mod would happen... Just as she finished this thought, she heard someone knock on the door. "It's unlocked."
One of the Mod's Squad guard entered. "Lady Ikkin, there are reports of strange energy in the Akanessia Forest, close, or even inside the Dessan Clocktower... The guards there request your help immediately to investigate."
"Alright, tell them I'm coming." Ikkin smiled as she raised herself, reports of strange energy were common, and never grave. But if it gave her the opportunity to move a little, she couldn't say no!
*.*.*.*
"...do you know the way around? Maybe we should stop, you look tired..." Aerisa nudged Scar's chest slightly with her muzzle as he walked through the maze that made up The Loft.
"I'll be fine... I know a bit about this place. I want to see if a part of it is still there, we should be safe if it is..." It was well known that The Loft was made up of the dreams of the forumers, forgotten or granted. But seeing it now, it looked more like it was made up of nothingness. Everything was dead, or in ruins, as if it's very essence had been stolen, and left with nothing... A branch from a dead tree caught one of his sleeve, ripping it, revealing the bite Aerisa had inflicted him earlier.
She stared at it as Scar simply kept on going his way. She hadn't realized she had bitten him so... hard... "Scar... you're still bleeding..." Her heart sank staring at the deep wound she had created. She couldn't leave it like that... She started doing the only thing she could do in that form, licking the wound.
Scar blushed heavily as he felt her small tongue run on his arm, but he said nothing, continuing to walk, until a small, rundown house appeared before them... "We're here..."
*.*.*.*
"Scar, are you there?" Ikkin raised an eyebrow as she opened the door of the clocktower's first floor. It was unlike him to leave it unlocked. She walked her way to the kitchen, where she found some cookies on the table. Unable to resist the temptation, she smiled a bit, going to take one before continuing her investigation. "Surely he won't mind..." Just as she was about to take one in her hand, she felt two, cold hands on her shoulders... and froze.
"My my, what a delicious looking girl you are. I guess what they say is true, my Lady, no cute girls can resist nice, good sweets..." Miso whispered into her ears, rubbing her hair slightly with his own head. He grinned as he felt her body shiver against his. "Let's see what you've got... Elemental magic... basic teleportation... oh oh... do I sense a Phoenix?"
Sweat rolled down Ikkin's forehead. She wanted to run, go away from him... but she stayed hopelessly frozen.
"You know..." He started sliding his hands slightly, caressing her shoulders. "The last time I stole someone's powers, I knocked him out magically. But quite honestly, there's no fun in that... Now that I have you completely under my power... I think I'll do it PHYSICALLY!" Ikkin screamed as he turned her around and pushed her harshly, hitting her head against the table, making everything black out....

IKKIN! ;_____; Not Ikkin.. .. And my tarot deck would never betray me! D: ..Like Amnei said, it's attuned to me. A deck is like a sentient being, it knows its owner and develops a bond with him. But this is such a great story, I don't really mind. ^^ .. Miso's so creepy to me. x_______x Aeri explained the tarot thing to me, because I asked. Basically, what Miso does it steal your magic - so he's using your magic to control your deck. Or something like that. ^^;

I didn't want to say it yet since it is more-or-less said in this chapter, but yes, Miso's power is to steal that of other persons, so long as one condition is filled. Which? I won't say yet! Read on =3 ...also, both the Tarot and the "pawn" don't have much of a choice... *whistle*
Chapter 3 – Scars
There are times your emotions conflict in unnatural ways. But there are others where you feel the complete opposite of how you should. As did Aerisa right now. After one broken and one massively injured leg, 2 attacks where she could've died, and being thrown in an unknown territory that was magically corrupted for some reasons, she felt warm, safe, and HAPPY. Funny what a night spent with one ear against a beating heart could do to one.
She wasn't too sure who's dream it used to be. A simple house, with a bed, a small kitchen and a table. A home. But when Scar walked to the desk, in the morning, and withdrew clothes identical to those he usually wore, she knew it was his own.
"What do we do now?" Aerisa asked after Scar finished getting dressed.
"I'm not sure... I think all we can do for now is walk and try finding a way out..."
"And Miso?"
"I guess we can only hope we don't run into him agai..." Only when he had almost finished his sentence did he realize he had fallen into a trap.
"How'd you know his name?" Scar looked inside Aeri's eyes for some seconds before turning his head away.
"I went to your old place to try and find out what exactly had happened to you. I met him... He called me by my last name without me having introduced myself..."
"You don't have any ideas of the trouble you're in..." She lowered her head, closing her eyes.
"But I DON'T understand why I'm in trouble! I never met him, never did anything to him! What does he hold against me!?" He raised himself as he shouted, staring at her.
She raised her head and opened her eyes, looking inside his, not blinking even once before saying her answer. "Your bloodline." An uncomfortable silence lingered for some seconds, before Scar sat back next to her. "You know what the Dessan clan did. All of their crimes... This clan is more or less extinct now... but it's disappearance is still fresh, and many still yearn for revenge. What better way for them to have it... than to kill it's LAST SURVIVING MEMBER?" Scar stayed silent for some time, trying to take it in.
"But.. I don't want to have anything to do with what they did..."
"No... but they don't care. You sharing the blood of those who murdered their loved ones is all that do. And trust me there's more of them than you think." He looked into her eyes, and the only thing he could see, was that she was serious...
"So I'm all alone then..." He turned his head, preventing him from seeing the look on Aerisa's face fall.
"Scar I..." Just as she started talking a loud sound came from outside, cutting whatever she wanted to say.
"We need to go..."

"This place hasn't been corrupted for a long time..." Scar stopped walking, looking at Aerisa. "Look at this tree." She said, pointing to a dead tree a small distance from the path they were in. "The apples on it still looks eatable."
He walked to it, taking one apple in his hands, examinating it. While some parts of it looked a bit dried at worse, much of it was indeed still good and perhaps even fresh. "Well, at least it means we get breakfast." He said, taking a bite out of it and putting Aerisa to the ground so she could eat one herself.
"We've been searching for a long time... Do you think the Loft's door is even open?" She looked at Scar, sitting next to her as she ate.
"I don't know.. but I know that in order for ANYTHING to leave the Loft, the doors need to be open... So in other words.."
"We're stuck." She shook her head slightly. "Isn't there any ways to teleport out of here? You're the one with the greatest skills in that domain in the land, after all."
"The Loft is a PART of the lands... but it's also separate from it, a kind of sub-plane. Such teleportations are dangerous. I would've risked it with my pocket watch, but..."
Aerisa lowered her head, trying to think. "Wait.. isn't the Loft a part of the Existerres? Maybe some of the other parts that makes it ARE open..."
"You mean.. The Underdeep and the Edge? I'm not sure.. but I DO know one that should be..." He smiled as Aerisa tilted her head. She simply looked too cute while doing this... "There's one more part no one else know about... The Meadow. It was created during the war against Sean. Since I never talked about it, it SHOULD be open... And since it's a part of the same entity that form the Loft, it'll be easy to teleport there. "
Aeri took the last bite from her apple, before crawling to Scar's knee. "Well, let's go!"

Every citizens are asked to be extremely careful. Two citizens and two moderators have disappeared in the last 24 hours under mysterious circumstances, and...
Ginz sighed, as she walked past the outskirt of the city. Such news were depressing, and she'd quite honestly go away from it all, at least for a while, rather than stay to hear about it all day. Thankfully, she knew one place that was both calm and safe, for practically no one ever went there. She smiled while thinking of the Loft. She rarely went there herself, but every time she did were moments of pure happiness. Of course, not everything had always been good in there, such as when it was found, soon after it's discovery, that a certain being was trapping forumers from inside it, but still. What risk could there be this time?
*.*.*.*
He had managed to track them with the Kitsune's power and that of his new pawn. He had gotten there himself. But it was EMPTY! Miso frowned. They hadn't left from the normal exit. He could feel it, it was closed and impossible to open from the inside. This made things so much harder... While he walked around a bit, brainstorming, he felt something... The door was being opened. He grinned. Maybe he'd get something to make up for his trouble after all...
*.*.*.*
"..wha?" Ginz's eyes went round as she saw the lifeless Loft. It was so far from her memories... She immediately thought about alerting the mods, but.. she couldn't help her curiosity and walked forward, looking around a bit. She couldn't imagine what could've made the Loft like that. She opened the door of one of the dreams, entering it. Consternation could be seen on her face. Everything inside was in ruins...
"Ohh... A healer.. now THAT'S a power I could use..." Ginz turned herself quickly as she heard the voice behind her. A man was laying against the frame of the door. She could see he had the clear intention to prevent her from leaving this place...
She felt... Numb. As if some parts of her were trying to shut down. And this feeling she got simply from looking at him... still, she tried to remain calm, looking into his eyes. "Power? ..a.. are you the one responsible for the latest disappearance?"
"Partly immune to my trance power aren't you... and I see the word got around. If it's so you probably know it would be better for you not to do anything to resist. I do remember leaving a lot of blood on the table when I knocked out that Kitsune..." He licked his lips as he remembered this moment. Excitement rose in his chest as the memories surfaced, and he took one step forward...
"Wait! I... just want to talk with you!" She took a step backward, waving her arms frantically in front of herself. She watched silently as the man stared at her with curiosity.. before he started laughing.
"Well! Why not, this might prove amusing! Be warned however, this will not change your fate. I am Miso Somniagice, of the Somniagice clan..." He put his right hand on his heart and bowed deeply, extending his left arm to the side. "It is a... pleasure to meet you." His smirk changed partly into an honest smile as he raised himself and looked at the girl in front of him. "You are?"
"Ginz.. Ginz Weasley." She bowed slightly, however raising herself quickly. She couldn't help but still feel nervous at the sight of his smile. Especially knowing he didn't have good intentions toward her.... "I heard of the Somniagice clan before... Powerful mages who take their magic especially from things related to sleep and dreams, always bearing purple eyes, working under a matriarchal society... Some says the myth of Succubus rose from you..."
"I am surprised you know this much." He smiled, and his accent seemed to become stronger... "My clan, ah... Tended to be very secretive and reserved. Not meddling with the affairs of the other mages."
"Tended? They don't anymore?"
"It is hard to do much of anything when you are dead, my lady." He unbuttoned his shirt, opening it completely, revealing two large scars, one over his stomach, and one going from his shoulder to the bottom of his chest, passing over his heart. "I was 6 years old. My father, brothers, sisters, and, most importantly, my mother, all died before my eyes. Very few of my clan survived the attack, and those who did scattered. All because we refused to collaborate with another clan for a genocide... little did we know WE would be the one killed because of this..."
"I... I'm sorry..."
"Keep your pity for AFTER I am done with you, chances are you won't have any left then..." He grinned amusedly as he re buttoned his shirt.
"Why do you want to hurt me? Will it really make you achieve anything?" More than worried, now, she was... saddened.
"My power is to steal other people's power while they are unconscious, or in a coma. Whether or not I cause them to lose consciousness is of no matter... if they awaken, I lose it. And if they die after a significant amount of time in this state, I keep the power forever. From hurting YOU, I will gain your healing powers, which may be useful to me in the battle I will hopefully fight soon." He looked at her staring at him quietly. "I suppose you want to know more. I want to KILL the last descendant of the clan that annihilated mine, my family." He put his finger on his cheek, thinking a little. "And also this annoying shape shifting PET of his. But that's a personal matters." He winked at her playfully.
"And then what? Once you killed them... once you hurt so many people... what will you do?"
"Hmm..." He crossed his arms, looking at the ceiling. "Well, I suppose I will spend the rest of my life running from the OTHER persons who wanted to kill him... maybe kill them too, I mean, why stop doing something you're good at?" He grinned, looking in her eyes.
"...so you've got no remorse at all?" She said, sighing.
"Not the slightest! This is life, it's either me, or them. I do not have remorse for killing, nor will I mind if they kill me. After all, don't we ALL pay for our crimes, one day?" From the way he smiled after his comment, she understood. He wasn't a madman. He wasn't someone who simply killed for the thrill, not caring of the consequences... He genuinely KNEW what he was doing was wrong. He knew the consequences of his actions, on others, and on himself. And yet he continued.
"...unlike what you said, I still feel pity for you..." She put her back and her hands against the wall behind her, looking to the ground.
"There aren't enough persons like you in the world... I say this honestly. Shame I'm going to kill two of them later... Brace yourself, I'll make this quick!" Ginz closed her eyes, her body shivering from fear... before she fell to the ground, unable to feel anything anymore...
