Ginz! Poor Ginz. At least she managed to get info out of Miso. Too bad no one else heard it... except for us readers, but we don't count.

Chapter 4 – The Meadow's Edge
During the war against Sean, Chronos, the god of time, created, using parts of the Underdeep, a vision of what the nightmare plane would take should Sean accomplish his goal to remove what was never meant to be in the land according to him: Many of it's inhabitants. Instead of simply disappearing afterward, when it was no longer needed, it took a form of it's own, becoming an integral, but secret part of the Existerres... The Meadow. Timeless and Eternal. Great secrets lie, hidden within it, protected by the only chronomancer of the land...
*.*.*.*
Scar stared silently at what was left of the Meadow. What was once a flowery field, with a tree in the middle, was now a complete deserts. The small streams that used to flow in it were dry, as was the ground ahead. Where light once came in abundance from the sunless sky, practically none of it reached the ground, blocked by dense, dark, thick clouds.
"Corrupted... also..." Aerisa didn't know what used to be in this plane. But it was easy to know it had been corrupted for MUCH longer than the Loft. Only one thing was left in the Meadow, a tree trunk, collapsed on the ground. "For one part of the Existerres to be corrupted, something big needs to have happened. For TWO to be, it means we're in a heck of a lot of trouble... EVERYONE in the land... Especially since no one noticed..."
Scar sat on the ground, putting his hand on his forehead. As if the latest events weren't enough... "Let's search for the door before anything else happens..." He said with a resigned voice, raising himself again...
*.*.*.*
Miso laid Ginz next to Kit and Ikkin, on the bare ground. All three laid there, unmoving, as if they were dead. He knew better, however. Ginz and Kit were merely unconscious, like they would be if they had fainted. Ikkin, though, was in a coma. A deep, but controlled coma. He had to make her survive, at least for so long, as he wouldn't be able to use the pawn he got from her if she was to die. Still... Maybe once he'd be done with the pawn, he'd let her die... Then he'd get to keep at least the other of her powers... but he wouldn't be able to before months.
He sat on the ground. He didn't know where his prey were, while they were likely still in one of this group of plane. Also, even if he got to them, chances were they would teleport themselves or be teleported by this dead Dessan again... He needed something to ensure they wouldn't run away... His eyes drifted to the three others on the ground, and he grinned. Yes.. it was doubtful they would leave friends behind... but how to get them to come here?
He laid on the ground, putting his hands on his stomach. There, he grinned. Yes, that might JUST work... Now was to find them...
*.*.*.*
"I can't see any doors..." Aerisa flew back to Scar's hands, keeping her ears low. "It's not open either..."
"It's ok Aeri, don't worry..." He hugged her small draconic body, patting her head. "We'll find something soon enough..."
"If you are unable, I might know a way for you to get out of your... predicament..." Miso smirked as he walked toward Scar. He saw him hold the little dragon tighter, trying to protect her. "How ironic, you are trying to protect the one who saved YOU the last time I came.. but this is not why I am here." He raised his hands in the air slightly. "See? No weapons."
"...weapons aren't the only thing one can use to attack." Scar said, looking at him, still holding Aerisa tightly.
"But why would I attack you? No.. you would only find a way to run away again. I'll wait to have trapped you both in such a way that you won't be able to run anymore."
"You're messed up, you know that?"
"And here I thought I'd get some point for honesty!" He grinned, passing one hand in his straight hair. "In any case, come see me in the place you call the Underdeep if you're bored of searching in vain. I'll wait a full day for you..." He turned himself, starting to walk away from them...
"And what if we refuse to come into your trap?" Scar stared as Miso stopped on his spot, not moving... until the man's shoulders started shivering and giggles reached his ears.
"Weellll..." He turned his head, giggling some more. "Let's just say that unlike you, I am not bound to this plane... And that I got a certain Dragon's phone book. I am certain your sister would like a visit, my lady..." He burst out laughing as he kept on walking, teleporting away, leaving behind a struggling and spitting Aerisa.
"LEMME GO! I'LL KILL HIM! I'LL KILL HIM BEFORE HE CAN TOUCH HER!" Scar had a lot of difficulty holding her for a miniature Dragon with the broken legs.
"AERISA! CALM DOWN!" He kept on holding her even thought her small but sharp claws scratched his arms and chest greatly as she struggled. She stopped slightly as he ordered her to.
"Why!? He wants to kill Leoness!" She hissed at him.
"He gave us until tomorrow to come to him. We can still look at the Edge. Maybe with some luck we'll find a way out and manage to warn her." He felt her relax herself more. "If all fails.. we'll go there... but let's take this chance first."
She thought for some seconds, before nodding.
*.*.*.*
The Edge had always been the strangest area the the Existerres according to Aerisa. While dreams and nightmares tended to be constant, memories weren't. They were ever changing, and different for everyone. But, for once, it was no different than the other planes. The half-living beings that made it up were entirely gone, as were most of the grand building that once thrived in it, such as Sev's castle.
But again, no traces of any doors anywhere, no matter how much they searched.
"It's night back home now... It'll be midnight soon... It means two things, y'know..." She put her small head on Scar's chest, looking at his face.
He shook his head. "I don't want to think about it now..." He said, closing his eyes.
"Well then?"
"We're going to the Underdeep..."

I love it! And not only because I'm in there ^_^
Not only have you improved a lot since 'Something' in terms of grammar and spelling and such but also in overall storytelling. The plot is well thought out and the story flows really well from one point to another.
But what's great about the story is the characters. You made them the focal point of your story and I have to applaud what you did to Miso as well as the other forumers. Everyone is portrayed realistically and in character, not to mention you can feel how they feel at times (like the ever so creepy Miso and Ikkin scene ._. )
I know I've read the whole story before but if I didn't I'd want to read more, and soon! xD Good work ^_^

The apple tree in chapter 3 reminds me of the apple tree in 'The Reaches'. *reminisces*
I can't help but wonder about what would happen under various circumstances, but I can't post said circumstances because they would either be confusing, or take a lot of explaining. Not to mention they would be spoilers. >_>

Story conclude next week, read and shiver! x3
Chapter 5 – Under the Deep end
The corpse of various animals laid on the ground. Giant rabbits, wild turkeys, even a deer... The Underdeep, of all part of the Existerres, was perhaps the only part to have kept it's true nature despite the corruption... though they could guess it wasn't due to the Underdeep itself... Scar gritted his teeth as he removed one of his hand from holding Aerisa, turning it into a fist. He was... disgusted. Absolutely disgusted. He could see from their wounds that they had been coldly and painfully killed. The mere thought of someone involving small animals in this filled him with a blinding rage.
Aerisa, however, felt sadness more than anything. Much as she hated to admit, such sights were nothing new to her, and if she had felt anger before, she couldn't find it in herself to anymore... But she could never stop feeling the sorrow that such sights brought upon her. Especially now. She cherished the few animals that lived in the land, and to see so many of them killed needlessly...
"Lovely collection, isn't it?" Miso's voice raised behind them, and Scar turned himself, looking at him in the eyes. "I find that killing innocent preys help focus myself toward my goal..." He smirked, putting a strand of his perfect, straight hair behind his ear.
"What do you want? What trap do you have in stock for us?" He held on Aerisa tightly as he stared at him.
"I overestimated you. I thought you'd wait more before coming to the subject that will be your death. But as you wish..." He snapped his fingers, and a door appeared in the far distance. "The exit. Which you won't use."
"Make us." He almost hissed the word in his hatred, frowning.
"That was the plan..." He raised his hand in the air. "I present to you... my pawn!" A flash of Fire appeared around his hand, soon turning into...
"SEV!?" Aerisa's eyes went wide as Sev appeared, his head low.
"I... I'm sorry guys, I don't want to..." Miso closed his fist and Sev fell on the ground, twitching and shrieking.
"You will talk only when I allow you to, PAWN..." Aeri's eyes filled with tears, looking at the suffering Sev and Miso's cold eyes. Sev stopped shrieking and twitching as Miso slowly opened his hand. "Now, why don't you bring in our friends, pawn?" He smirked as Sev nodded, opening his wings... The bodies of Kit, Ikkin, and Ginz appeared on the floor.
"You... didn't..." Ikkin's face was pale as a ghost, and it took her ages before she saw her raise her chest, her breathing swallow.
"You needn't worry. All three of them are still alive, but..." He took one card from Kit's deck, making a dagger appear in his hand, and, lifting Ikkin with her hair, he placed it on her throat. "I could do this one mercy and release her from her suffering, what do you think?" Scar stayed frozen, staring at Miso, seeing the maniacal glimmer in his eyes. Aerisa, however, shivered... Kit... Ikkin... Ginz... Sev........
....Scar...
"Kill them." Tears fell from Sev's eyes as he was forced to fly toward them, bringing his powers... But neither Scar nor Miso were prepared for what happened then. Aerisa propelled herself, screaming as her scales turned to skin, and her draconic features disappeared for humans one... some of them. As Scar was thrown backward, seeing her bandages rupture themselves as her body size increased, he couldn't help notice this was a form he had never seen her take before... both of her eyes were red, and all of the teeth in her mouth were sharp and pointy, the fangs looking too big to be real. Her hands and feet were covered in scales, ending with long, menacing red claws. Her wings were much, much bigger than he had ever seen them.
She couldn't control her right leg at all. But the pain she felt through her whole body numbed that of her left one. She ran, using it and her hand, reaching Sev in a second.
"Kill me, I can always come back, but don't let this psycho kill Ikkin! Don't let me kill YOU!" Sev shouted as he flew around Aerisa, making fire appear around her. She flapped her wings, creating a gush of wind so strong it extinguished the part in front of Sev, and propelled her toward him. Sev could only scream as the claws passed through his fiery feathers, ripping his wing, blood flowing freely from his wound onto her face.
She was thrown aback. Phoenix blood was akin to Magma, and even protected by the Dragon Scales that grew on some parts of her face, the most durable material in the world, it burnt her severely. She wiped her eyes. Everything looked extremely blurry, but she needed to end his suffering, NOW... She used her leg to get back to Sev, still falling toward the ground, grabbing his head as she slammed him to the ground... and stabbed his heart with all the claws of her right hand.
She didn't have the time to see him take out his last breath as she turned toward Miso, jumping in his direction...
Time seemed to slow for Scar, as he powerlessly watched Miso grin, releasing Ikkin and avoiding Aerisa's extended claws... stabbing her right through the chest. Her eyes grew wide as she realized what had happened and blood came out of her mouth... Before Scar could realize it she was thrown on top of a group of rabbit corpse, dead...
Tears rose in Scar's eyes as he stared at her body. She HADN'T died. He COULDN'T just have seen her die, NO! He tried to raise himself, going toward her, but all he could do was crawl weakly on all four as a torrent of tears fell from his eyes. She... she was immortal, soon enough, he'd see her getting up, as if nothing had happened, and, and... WHY WASN'T SHE GETTING UP!?
Miso looked as Scarven's upper body fell on the ground, screaming, crying his sorrow. He saw him holding his head, pulling on his hair so hard is was a wonder he wasn't ripping out all of his scalp. As he walked slowly toward him, his grin fell. Even HE couldn't stay insensitive at this sight. "She fought... admirably. No doubt she cared for you and everyone else greatly... But neither she nor you ever stood a chance."
Scar felt him grab the side of his collar and lift him in the air, but he didn't fight it. Death... sweet, liberating death was coming to him... soon, it would all be over, and he'd see her again one more time, on his way toward Hell...
"I will tell you why... I corrupted the whole of the Existerres, taking all of its powers as my own... The attack on your tower? Your memory, your nightmare, my dream... None can rival such great, unlimited powers..." He unsheathed a sword from his belt, the same he had made appear during the attack of the Clocktower, as Scar kept on whimpering his loss.
"A... Aerisa..." More tears rose to his eyes as he said her name, remembering everything they had lived together...
"You'll be joining her soon... FAREWELL, DESSAN!"
*.*.*.*
"FAREWELL, DESSAN!"
An icy blade, penetrating deep inside his body, with the strength of a thousand fates. It pierced his back, going all the way trough to his chest. Slowly, but surely, the front of his shirt turned crimson, showing that he had been pierced, completely, from back to front... Miso was surprised when it didn't turn out to be his foe's fate... But his own.
Aerisa slowly released her grip on the handle, shivering, sobbing. As Miso fell to the ground, her eyes met that of an awestruck Scarven, each of their eyes as filled with tears as the other's. He immediately noticed how... different she looked. Her hair was still the pale white and red color it had always been, but... Horns now grew above her ears, going toward her back instead of straight up like most animals. Where she once had normal human ears were now long, fine bunny ears. She had a lot less scales on her face, her fangs were smaller, and a shimmering, silky, brown fur grew on various parts of her body...
They stared at each other for some more seconds... before she jumped in his arms, stuffing her face between his shoulder and his neck, bursting out crying...

I read through the entire story last night... and I have to say right here and now, that i'm utterly surprised and impressed by how much you've developed as a storyteller, Aerisa. I opened this thread expecting something like your other NTWF fanfic, but I can honestly say that this is ten times better!
I've read a good share of NTWF fanfics, and what makes this story unique is that fact that you use exactly the right number of characters to tell the story. A lot of other fanfics i've read use so many characters in them that they wash each other way, or otherwise feel like unnecessary additions to the plot. But here, everyone plays a key part in the telling of the story.
What I also like about your story is that the action focuses primarily on Scar and Aerisa, and doesn't 'jump' to other characters very often. This gives the plot a strong foundation and makes the story easy to understand and fun to read.
And another thing, is that I love the way you've developed the character of Miso. The way you describe his actions makes him feel like a very intimidating villain, and to top that off, he has a solid motive for the way he acts, so he's not completely black-and-white in terms of evilness.
Awesometastic job so far, and I can't wait to see how everything wraps up in the final parts. ^_^ I could easily imagine this tale as some kind of NTWF roleplaying game, now that I think about it.

...there isn't enough way to say thanks to you Strife... except... *FRIENDLY GLOMP* ^.^
The ending of Destinies Entwined. Some of you must've awaited it anxiously, and here it is. An important announcement will follow very soon after it is posted, in the meantime, enjoy!
Conclusion – Scarven and Aerisa
He held her tightly, putting his head against her own, caressing her hair. Part of his tears were from the sheer fright he had experienced... and part from his immense happiness from having her, there, safe in his arms....
"A... I..." He felt her struggle slightly, removing herself from his hold, and looking into his eyes. "Before Fadragon gave me his body to create my own... he... he made me promises never to use it as a base for another one should it die, no matter how much this body meant to me..." She wiped some tears from her eyes, taking his hand in her own. "But when I saw you, there... I... I GOT SO WORRIED!" She bent herself, holding his hand extremely tightly as more and more tears rose to her eyes. "I... I love you Scarry! I love you but I CAN'T love you, I can't feel how much I feel for you!" She released his hand, letting her head fall on his lap, shivering... "But... I, I want to... so very... very much..."
The last part came as a whisper as she sobbed. Up in the sky, the clouds, getting back the energy of the Underdeep, started to release water, quickly creating a pounding rain. He was still taking in everything she had told him. Worry. Love... and her inability to feel it... "A... Aerisa, I..." Just as he started talking, he felt an old, long lost knowledge come to his mind. One that he, himself, had never possessed... he could feel what it would do, what great good it would bring... and the cost it would bring upon him. But he had already made up his mind.
Aerisa felt him slowly raising her, bringing her face next to his own... and depositing his lips against hers. Soon, the surprise left place to a great feeling of wellbeing... her mind fell asleep, yet she was fully conscious. She could feel... a great, overwhelming warmth, as parts of their souls merged together, becoming one...
A tear fell from Scarven's eye as pain overtook his body as he kissed his beloved. Binding a mortal soul with that of an immortal Spirit was an extremely complex process, that asked a high toll from the one initiating the merge. But he continued to kiss her, ignoring the pain, only having his deep love for her in his heart, bringing their souls closer, closer... Until they were both one. Then they parted. Their lips left that of the others, their souls getting back to their respective owner... but a great part of the other stayed within each of them, tied forever...
Scar smiled as he passed his hand in her soft hair, looking gently inside of her eyes. It took Aerisa some time before she realized what was the feeling she felt, looking inside of his deep, brown eyes... LOVE! True, real love!
"I'm sorry Aerisa..." Scar said, putting his hand on her cheek. "I'm sorry I didn't realize I loved you sooner... It almost caused me to lose you... but I swear to do anything to make up for the time we lost..." Both threw themselves into the other's arms, tears of joy rolling down their cheeks. As he cried, he noticed... something, some meters behind her, made clear by the heavy rain. He smiled as he recognized him, looking straight at him.
"I'm sorry I stopped her from telling you so many times before, Scarven..." The soft voice rose in his mind, same as when he had last heard it. "But I needed to wait for right moment, for the both of you to be safe... Today, ten years have passed since I died, but instead of being a sad remainder of the past, it turned out to be a window to a bright future... Farewell, Scarven... I hope my gift make up for all of the pain I caused you..." One last, silent tear fell on his cheek as he saw him dissipate, and he closed his eyes, putting his head on Aerisa's shoulder.
It did... Thanks... dad...
Conclusion – Miso
I always knew my death wouldn't be immediate. That it would be long, and painful... allowing me to think, about my life, and my fate afterward... Miso laid on his side, unable to move, simply looking at the cold ground. But for some reasons... I do not want to think of what will happen to me... From the day of the attack, I... I became someone else. No more was the adorable little boy, who found meaning in his life from holding his beloved Mother. I promised myself.. never to let it happen again, to protect the survivors, wherever they were, even if it meant turning into one of the person who murdered us...
In this aspect... I have no regrets. Even if it wasn't the right way to... I lived my life the way I chose to, the way I wanted it to be... He could hear no sound, but he could feel the two next to him moving quite a bit. I'm not sure why... from the moment I met her, I could feel you... Scarven, right? And the first time I saw you two together... Rain started to pour on him as his stolen powers left him at the same rate as his life, a weak smile appearing on his face. Is this what I missed out? Could I have experienced it had I made another choice? Could I... have been loved?... It's too late now... I guess all I can do now.. is ask for forgiveness...
Mother, I'm sorry... sorry I couldn't grow to be the man you so wanted me to be... Scarven, Lady Aerisa... I'm sorry for all of the difficulty I made you go through... Lady Ginz... I might not have acted like it... but your kindness touched me deeply... Paw... no.. Sev, and whoever the Kitsune and the Human were... but especially the first two... sorry for doing what I did to you... Sorry, everyone else I... killed... or hurt... in any way... in my foolish quest...
Breathing was getting hard for him, he closed his eyes, closing his fist against the ground, trying to hold on his life a little more... One more apology... just... one more...
G... God... Forgive the misguided man that was Miso Somniagice... and... please... if you find it... in yourself... give him a second chance... just... this once?
One, small tear, the first to leave his eyes for 21 years, rolled down his cheek as he let out his very last breath, forever gone to the world...
Epilogue
"The Existerres really went hyperactive after we left it..."
"Mmhmm.. They estimate the most corrupted areas were completely sucked of their power for two and half a week, which, while short for us, is great for a place this powerful, and when everything came back almost all at once... Let's just say we ALL left just in time..."
"And yet you went back in there..."
"I had to..."
Scar looked at the grave in front of them, holding Aerisa by her side. Located on a very small island off the coast of the land of the NTWF, pointing toward Dusk, was a stone, inscribed :
Miso Somniagice
May the dreams of night live on
"In all of my lives, I died thousands of times... And I know that ANYTHING can happen between the moment you start agonizing, and the moment you die... He deserved a proper burial, everyone does......"
He patted her head, before she put a flower on the earth above which his body was buried, going back to her loved one.
"Come on... we still have much to deal with..." He said, kissing her forehead...
*.*.*.*
3 Months Later
*.*.*.*
Scar kissed her lips tenderly, caressing her sides. A good, warm bed... a rising sun... and the woman he loved by his side. He was THIS close to swearing he had died 3 months ago and was now in heaven... But he knew full well that in this case, reality was better than heaven.. much better...
"Sweetie, when are you moving in?" Scar rubbed his nose against her own, looking at her playfully. He smiled as she giggled, wrapping him with her arms.
"As soon as I finish the arrangements for the building I live in... since I took ownership of it after Miso's death I had a bit of problems, but everything should be resolved soon. Don't ask how soon however, in business, it's bad luck!" She poked his nose teasingly, and he brought her closer to him.
"Mmm... Speaking of business... don't the two of us... actually have... some to settle?" She laughed happily as he kissed her neck between his words, jumping on him and kissing him extremely lovingly... Until she froze, hearing the sound of popcorn being eaten somewhere behind her.
"Sweetie... Is this... whoever I think it is?" She said in a cold voice.
Scar raised himself a bit, looking above his beloved's head, before making himself fall on the bed again. "Yes. Yes it is." He said in an equally cold voice.
"CHRONOS!" Both of them raised themselves at the same time, holding the blanket against their bodies. The god of time burst out laughing as he saw the furious couple before him.
"I didn't expect such a warm welcome!" The god's wide grin was only met with a pillow on the face, courtesy of Aerisa.
"Why didn't you come before now? Why didn't you actually come to HELP us when we needed it?" Scar frowned, looking at the god harshly. He, however, only made himself more comfortable on the chair he had decided to take as his own.
"I'm WOUNDED! Who do you think allowed Carcharodan out into the Human world for him to teleport you? Or gives you a knowledge that you both so direly needed? Is there no appreciation for little Chronoses anymore?" He turned his head to the side and closed his eyes, trying (and failing) to look indignant.
"What happened to Miso?" Aerisa walked out of bed, having put a bathrobe on while the god wasn't looking.
He raised a eyebrow. "Now, what makes you think I know what happened to him after his death?" He asked, staring at her.
"Because I'm as old as YOU are, and you have the reputation of being a very, very, VERY nosy god." She folded her arms, looking at him. "Start talking."
Chronos sighed, raising himself from his chair. "Can't be funny with your girl, can't we, Scarven? ...fine... he redeemed soon before his death..." He saw Scar make a funny face. "What you need to understand, Scarven... Is that he never wanted YOU to die... he wanted the Dessan bloodline to. This Miso wasn't a good person. But he did have at least one redeeming quality." He said, walking closer to the bed. "He was intensively LOYAL. Everything he did, he did it for his clan. In his mind, you being alive, even if you had cast off your past, meant you could have had childrens who WOULD'VE taken interest in their bloodline, and choose to uphold the Dessan's Legacy, putting the Somniagice, as one of their old victims, at risk..."
"So he's in heaven now?" Scar asked, looking straight at him.
"It's not so easy... While he did redeem, preventing him from going to hell, he has much to understand and to learn before he can wish to enter Heaven... He's getting a second chance... reborn as a member of his beloved clan, in about 6 months... He genuinely WISHES to make up for his fault, so he was given the best possible rebirth for him, and the one where he'll be the most useful. This clan isn't dead yet, nor is it time for it to, and maybe... he'll manage to rebuild it."
Aerisa grinned, sitting next to Scar and passing her arm around his shoulders. Looked like she was right...
Chronos put his finger on his chin for some seconds, before concluding. "He's very grateful to you, Aerisa... Burying him in dignity instead of leaving him to be eaten by the Underdeep's monsters, risking yourself to go fetch his body even after what he'd done... Not many beings would've done that... neither would've they done what YOU did, Scarven."
"...who, me?" He tilted his head.
"Binding your soul to her's... despite the fact it meant you'd forever feel her pain, past, present, and future."
"Hey now, it only means I need to cheer her up then, it's my job as a boyfriend anyway, no?" Chronos smiled as he saw his nephew kiss his loved one's cheek, making her blush.
"Well then, I forgot why I came in the first place..."
"coughvoyeurcough"
He rolled his eyes, ignoring Aeri's comment. "So I'll take my leave. Oh, and by the way my dear, you look stunning as a full Human." She grinned as Chronos teleported away. Nice as they were, Bunny ears and Dragon horns were QUITE bothersome...
"Ahem..." Scar tugged on her sleeve, getting back her attention. "Now that we've got all the... time we desire... didn't we have something to settle?" Both looked into each other's eyes lovingly for some second... before kissing each other passionately...
The end

I hope you all loved this story as much as I love it. Unfortunately, this story will be my LAST contribution to this forum.
I'm leaving.
Some events happened soon after I began posting it, which made me endure wounds after wounds after wounds. While I chose to finish this story for all of my precious friends here, these events made it so things will never be the same for me over here. Not anymore.
I do not hold any kind of grudge against anyone, especially not against the normal users. You guys form one of the greatest community on the net, and I'm gonna miss you all.
I will probably keep lurking, but chances I post are slim. If I do, it will most probably be on the NTWF Story board, thus why I chose to announce it here. I WILL reply to any and all PM you guys might send me, and I'm ALWAYS available if you want to talk to me on MSN =D
Love y'all guys, and farewell.
