OMG!
(Spoilers for Harry Potter 4 movie, and probably a lot of the books too)
Okay, I was really disappointed. It was quite good with a couple of exceptions: one, it felt far too rushed; two, it left out way too much.
Maybe it'll grow on me like the third one. *shrug*
The music did not disappoint as much as I thought it would, but I still say they're idiots for not having John Williams do it again. The music makes the movie in many cases, after all.... for the first two, it gave this feeling of wonder and excitement and, I don't know... lightness? It fit the books quite well. The third had this lovely medieval feel to it - it was different from the other books and movies, but it grew on me once I accepted the difference.. This one... I didn't get any feeling at all. ;-; Which was bad.
The intro - quite good, but I wish they'd gone into the whole thing with the Riddles' murder. They're going to regret that later.
No Quidditch game - RAWR. I really was looking forward to that, and though I can see their reasons for cutting it, still. And no veela, either! They never even really explained that the shapes in the air were leprechauns, either.
The Death Eaters' march was a bit... more than I'd imagined. No woods, either, which took away from a lot of it. In the book... sure, it was intense, but they didn't completely decimate the entire camping ground.
No house-elves. This really irked me. They were a big part of this book, Winky and Dobby both. ;_;
Now here's one change I did like. I loved the arrival of Durmstrangs and Beauxbatons. I also liked how they made Durmstrangs out to be a boys' school and Beauxbatons to be a girls' - this wasn't in the book, but it made things interesting. However, the shortening of the Quidditch match sort of took away from Viktor Krum.
The casting of Fleur was better than I thought, though I thought her hair would be more white-blond. Krum and Cedric were perfect.
Moody/Crouch was also absolutely perfect, though I wish that they'd included his "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" thing in the classroom. XDDD That had me in fits while reading the book. They didn't go into Neville's parents as much as they should have, though. Again, they're going to regret that.
The ball was quite good, but I wished they'd gone more into Hagrid's and Madame Maxime's relationship. Their dance was hilarious, though. XDDD
The tasks... First was excellent, everything I'd hoped for. Second was also good, though missing Dobby. ;-; Third was - uh... I miss the creatures - dementors, Skrewts... yes, the Sphinx.
Skrewts. T_T They didn't have Hagrid in it much, which was a pity; nor did they go into Hermione's vendetta with Rita Skeeter. I was really looking forward to that, as well as SPEW.
I was actually quite calm during the graveyard scene compared to when I read it - though that's probably just the age difference. Voldemort was creepeh. The duel was awesome. >D But I agree, the maze was also creepy.
The aftermath and winding-down after Voldemort's rise was a little rushed. Left you going "huh?" I miss having Crouch under Veritaserum explaining everything about his plans. They also never mentioned that Crouch had been believed to be dead, and they never went into what a jerk his father was.
Oh yeah - Percy. They left him out too, which was bad. It set up for the next book with his split from the family.
Other stuff - left out Sirius's physical visit to Harry. Actually, they almost completely left out their relationship, just assumed that you already knew about it. Anyone who sees 3, 4, and 5 without reading the books will likely shed few tears over his death, unless they really shape up in time for making the fifth movie. (Cedric Diggory dying was really really sad though. )
Neville - XD. I'm glad that he got more of a part in this movie than he did in the last one. His "I KILLED HARRY POTTER! =O" was hilarious.
Karkaroff - at first I really liked how they were portraying him, they made a good start... but it kind of collapsed. At least they mentioned he was a death eater.
In the graveyard, Voldemort didn't go around naming absent death eaters, which was bad. They also didn't show Barty Crouch Jr's trial, which was a pity. In the book, the trial led you to pity him, so the ending was a complete surprise.
They left out Ludo Bagman and his bet with the Weasley twins. Not an integral part of the plot, so I can forgive it.
Myrtle - also XD. She was so funny - they kept her faithful both to the book and to the second movie.
That song at the very end of the credits just BURNED. It was terrible. Seriously, it was like they'd made it into some sort of virtual reality movie where you can actually FEEL the Cruciatus Curse. Gyaaaaaah. ;-; They should have played it while Voldemort was dueling Harry. It would have been terrifying.
I'm probably forgetting a lot, but yeah, that's all I can remember right now.
6.7/10 -- rating may improve upon further viewings which skip the ending credits!
