Report on it and It's due on the 18th. I started it but I kinda need somemore ideas. I explained about 'sameness' and how the world has no choices and everything...

I've never actually read the book, but my sister and my friend have read it. Actually my friend is still reading it, because she's in my class ;D

I've read it...I think I still need to return it to the library (heh...I checked it out sometime in '02 ). You could write about the colorlessness...I like colors...yay for the tie-dye shirt! WHOO-HOO! Or not.

Well, I read it...sameness is a good thing to talk about, but maybe you should bring up the importance of the passing of memories, and why it is called "The Giver". Those are the most important aspects to me. Also, never forget the colors!

I've read it, but I'm not sure what you mean...is there something specific you need to focus on?

If your teacher is anything like mine, she likes to hear about "controversy." Write about the advantages of Sameness as well as disadvantages, a sort of "Safety versus Freedom" issue. Tell which one you think is more important and list consequences, good and bad.

There's also the character analysis option. Play psychologist and analyze Jonas's (or any other character's) actions/thoughts. Explain his reactions to everything- the Selecting, the memories, the color. Compare him to his peers, who live in blissful ignorance. What would you have done?
