;D
Today was...awesomeness.
Things didn't start out well, but ends on a high note.
My day began with me waking up before my alarm...again. I hate that. I try to keep my eyes shut when I wake up now so that I won't see I only have 5 minutes of sleep left before it goes off. Yet I always wake up before it goes off and it's quite annoying.
Especially considering I wanted to see if I made it out of the compound alive, in my Resident Evil dream. I was so bad, shooting those zombies left and right. Booyah. XD
School today, was...different. Every now and then we have a day where we watch a classic movie for this Literature and Film class or whatever. Today we watched The Graduate.
That was actually a good movie, despite the overplaying of some good Simon & Garfunkel songs.
Then it was off to work. I get inside, and Chris (one of my coworkers) shouts some joyous praises for Tiffany and I showing up. He then drops the bombshell(s):
Jared called in sick
Tanya called in....for something (probably because she started a new job today, that lazy... )
It was going to be just me, Chris, and Tiffany. Kenny (assistant manager) would help out when he could, and Tim (another assistant manager) is supposed to come in.
Tim was supposed to be there like at 10:00...he's not.
He still isn't until it gets to be about 1:10 to 1:30 or so. X.x; Something had happened to delay him or something like that.
So I take my station (Drive-Thru) and then more bombshells are dropped:
"Oh yeah, Andrew, we're out chicken fingers." Gah. Turns out someone had stolen a bunch of them. We bought like 9 boxes of them and they were in stock Wednesday (stock day). Friday night, Kenny finds 1 box left. Nuh uh
We do not use 8 boxes in 1.5 days.
"Oh, we're out of soup, too."
"No one came in for Prep today, so I have to get that going." (Prep being things like getting certain salads prepared ahead of time, slicing tomatoes, onions, so forth)
"Paul is coming in today" (Paul being our district manager. We can be seriously understaffed and slammed, and he'll yell at us for how dirty the store looks, because we haven't had the time to do things like sweep the line).
"We got robbed Friday night. About 2:45 or so, (someone) started to take the trash out, through the back, like always. Some guy with a gun bursts in and holds me [Kenny] up, tells me to open the safe and took all the money out of it. He got away with three thousand dollars or so."
X.x;
But we actually did quite well for being understaffed, in the middle of open fountain (which means I make the shakes that all those greedy, shake-coveting, customers wanted. -.-) So well that Tim comments how well we were all working "You guys do some awesome work. Great job, people." and hands out some "Way to go" cards...which are cards that when accumulated can be traded in for free stuff. =B
My shift ends and all. I'm also $4 richer, due to tips. Yay.
I get home, decide to lift weights at the Rec-Plex and so forth. I get there, workout in the room for about an hour and a half, as well as talk to some old friends headed off to swim practice (since I quit this year).
On the way home I stop by Walgreens...and this needs some backstory (enter IM log for rest of the story):
GreyStalosFreezr (6:55:10 PM): Enjoying the freedom of having a car, I went out to get myself some Coke last night, being totally out.
GreyStalosFreezr (6:55:28 PM): So I went to the Walgreens that happens to be on the corner like 2 minutes away.
GreyStalosFreezr (6:56:28 PM): I grab 3 20 ounces of Cherry Coke. My sister owed me 60 oz. of soda, so I made her give me the cash to buy those.
GreyStalosFreezr (6:56:41 PM): (She took 5 of my cans, and I wanted repayment)
GreyStalosFreezr (6:56:57 PM): Then grabbed a one liter of Coke, as well
GreyStalosFreezr (6:57:04 PM): Trek up to the checkout.
GreyStalosFreezr (6:57:15 PM): The girl behind the register was kind of giggly.
GreyStalosFreezr (6:57:23 PM): Commented on all the cherry coke I had
GreyStalosFreezr (6:57:35 PM): Stuff like that
GreyStalosFreezr (6:58:06 PM): Chuckled a little when I didn't have quite exact change, and so forth. I don't mean ditzy giggly, but flirty giggly.
GreyStalosFreezr (6:58:35 PM): It made me feel good, and I was smiling as I left, but I passed it off as my imagination
GreyStalosFreezr (6:59:15 PM): So tonight, I go lift some weights. On the way home, I pull back into Walgreens to buy more soda (I got $4 in tips today, so time to add a little more to my stock)
GreyStalosFreezr (6:59:30 PM): Grab 2x20 oz of Cherry Coke. Get in line.
GreyStalosFreezr (6:59:33 PM): Same girl.
GreyStalosFreezr (6:59:52 PM): She's checking the other people out, but starts the same little giggles when it gets to me again. "More Cherry Coke?"
GreyStalosFreezr (7:00:09 PM): "Cherry Coke's the best type of soda."
GreyStalosFreezr (7:00:16 PM): "Oh, I know. I drink it a lot myself."
GreyStalosFreezr (7:00:43 PM): I pay "Hey, you have exact change tonight!" giggle
GreyStalosFreezr (7:01:38 PM): So I'm start to leave, and she comments that she likes my necklace (dragon pendant) and shirt (Inu-Yasha). I thank her of course, and tell her to have a good night and so forth.
GreyStalosFreezr (7:01:42 PM): But it makes me feel great.
GreyStalosFreezr (7:01:52 PM): That's the first time in my life, anyone has ever done that with me.
[friend] (7:05:25 PM): She was snorting something.
GreyStalosFreezr (7:05:56 PM): XP Oh hush. Maybe someone actually found me attractive and was flirting with me or something.
[friend] (7:09:44 PM): More likely she was snorting something.
GreyStalosFreezr (7:10:07 PM): ...
GreyStalosFreezr (7:10:26 PM): Doubt it. she didn't look like she was high. Heh. She was pretty cute, too.
[friend] (7:15:52 PM): Oh dear.
GreyStalosFreezr (7:16:13 PM): It is not a sign of the apocalypse. XD
GreyStalosFreezr (7:16:26 PM): 'Sides, I'm holding out for Yui anyway.
[friend] (7:16:40 PM): Nah. But it is a sign of America's declining taste.
GreyStalosFreezr (7:16:47 PM): ...
GreyStalosFreezr (7:16:49 PM): harsh.
GreyStalosFreezr (7:16:50 PM): XD
And that pretty much is how my day ended up being so great. Yay.
