Someone I know from school (or at least she says she knows me - I don't really recognize the name [I'm bad with names]) neomailed asking to chat. So we talked for a while about Neopets and she talked about how long she had been on and how much she liked it, so I asked if she read the Neopian Times. She said she did occasionally, so I asked her if she had seen any of my pieces. She said she hadn't but that she would go check them out. Note that through all of this she was talking very casually - not in chatspeak or anything, whihc is nice, but still casually.
Anyway, she was appearantly very impressed with my writing, because today I found this message in my inbox.

I checked out your articles, and I have to say, they are quite spectacular and intellectual. I never presupposed of any of the elements you scribbled about. It was quite interesting hearing it from that retrospect .

Isn't that SO cute? She's trying to impress me with big words! Generally, people only do that if they think you're really dumb or really smart, and considering the context I'm guessing (and hoping) it's the latter. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

That IS cute. I do it sometimes, too. Only when I'm talking to people who I feel kind of self-conscious around, though-- which isn't that often.

Seriously though, I'm glad that she liked your stuff. It's sort of weird that she's write that way though. It doesn't sound natural coming from anybody...
