Today I did I bit of writing for my homework. The subject was what types of books are in your house, where are they located, and what do they say about the members of your household. Well, i get it finished five and a half pages of handwriting, a bit more than most people will do. There are a LOT of books in my house. Anyway, my mom asks to read it, and I let her. I said something sort of nice about her somewhere in the middle, and when she gets to it she starts getting all choked up and says "Emma, that's SO sweet of you! And this is SO well written! It's beautiful!" So after she finishes it, she starts passing it around to my visiting granparents to let THEM read. And they're all "Wow! This is AMAZING!"
PLEASE, you guys! It's JUST a piece of homework. Yeah, it's well written, but it's STILL just a piece of homework, and not on a very interesting topic, either.
*shakes head* Oh well, it's an egotrip. And I guess it's good to have family who thinks that much of me.

Some people are easily immpressed. Our principle at school had an assembly and was very immpressed by some girl who had picked up a piece of paper in the hallway when others had just passed on by.
We had to give her a round of applause. We gave a stading ovation to a girl who picked up a piece of paper!
I felt so dumb.

Everyvody acts all humble when they get credit, yet act all frustrated when they get none... how odd.
Anhoo, if I woulve done that, it would've been 11 pages long, cos my mom filled up the hosue with cooking books.

You could have just said "In this room are my mother's cookbooks. Many, MANY cookbooks. She likes cooking, rather obviously." Maybe you would list a few titles, but not every single one. If I had done that, the paper would have been FIFTY pages long.

WHAT?!?!??! You FREAK! YOu must catch up now! *shoves all of the story books in her house under Tomi's nose* I don't read that much either. I've read the five Harry Potter books, quite a few books about animals, a few ghost and horror stories, two books about kittens, a book about babysitting, a comical book about talking fish, loads of informative books about weather, the world, animals of the world etc etc. It really isn't that many in 17 years.

My mom talks about how great everything I do is ... she always hangs up my art, and when I was younger I actually thought it was good because she made such a big fuss over it. Don't think I'm saying it sucks and your parents are just being nice; I'm positive it was great. However, sometimes adults get a little over-enthusiastic ... for example, our old prinicipal instituted a "Book of Merit" and the first person to sign it for being "consciencous(sp) and religious" got a standing ovation in our gym from the whole school...
