Oh wow, this is awsome!
When I was in 8th grade 5-6 years ago, I helped out at my local food pantry and did community service. In my time there, I got to know the two people that ran it.
After 8th grade I slowly stopped going there, due to not having enough time anymore.
But just today, I happened to run into both of the people that run the food pantry. I recognized them instantly, even after 6 years. We caught up some, and I mentioned I was going into art and computers, and the conversation ended up leading to helping them out with stuff. Fun stuff that I would enjoy doing. But even more, too.
I am helping with designing the presentation and powerpoint for the pantry to get a 45k grant this upcoming year. O.O
Not only do I get to help out old friends, but I also get to put on my resume "Helped a non-profit organization get a $45,000 grant."
And at my college, I might be able to talk to the right people and see if it counts for work study, and get paid by the college.
Helping friends. Resume booster. Maybe getting paid.
This is a very awesome opportunity that has been sprung up out of no where, and will help me later on in life when I'm getting a real real job.
And after I do this, I might be able to get other such opportunities that my college might know about.
((And for the PP presentation, I'm going to use original artwork, which will be even happier.)) ^_^ ^_^ ^_^
Its going to be a ton of work, getting and understanding all the info that I need to know, but I know that I'm up for it! ^_^
