I needed to say this. My graduation was on the Friday before last. Now, I am switching schools, so it was my last day there. I won't miss the school, but I will miss some really special teachers for all that they did for me.
[glow=red,2,300]IN 8TH GRADE[/glow] First of all, my French teacher, Mr. Boussard. Yep, he's from France. He was perhaps the funniest teacher that I ever had, and one of the nicest. Even though daily quizzes may seem hard, they were fun and help you if you want to learn the French (or any other) language.
Next, my English teacher, Mr. Peed. I sometimes think he created our Words-of-the-Week (100 vocabulary words + etymologies, 5 per week) just so we could use them for a laugh. We thought it was a riot when someone used the word "stevedore" in a sentence. We even went so far as to give that word as a nickname to a person on my baseball team. Plus, he gave us an awesome poetry slideshow. Good luck getting that book published! Thank you both!
[glow=red,2,300]IN 7TH GRADE[/glow] Mr. Haslam, my science teacher. His course was perhaps the easiest to take. He graded with points, and the most you could get was 2,000 per quarter. But get this: he gave you points for showing up for class! Awesome guy! Thank you!
[glow=red,2,300]IN 6TH GRADE[/glow] Mr. Zahner, my homeroom teacher. This guy had a fanatical devotion to all things Boston, whether you counted his Larry Bird poster or his Red Sox memorabilia collection. He was also witty, and gave us several interactive assignments. Oh, he also has a huge collection of snowglobes. Thank you!

Wow! Sounds like you've had some great teachers! ;D I'm ALMOST finished Gr. 8...three more days! I don't particularly like my school...but I've had some awesome teachers, like my grade 7 English teacher Miss Christenson. She's retiring this year, and she always made us laugh and taught us lots of interesting stuff.

Good teachers I had in my middle school career? (I just finished Grade 8 as well.)
8th Grade: English teacher Spanish teacher Geometry teacher
7th Grade English teacher Spanish teacher
6th Grade Science + Math teacher
I had several more teachers that I hated, and several more that I was indifferent to... I hated middle school....><

Ooh...good teachers...this'll be a long list ^^; Gifted Program: Mrs. E., at my first school; she did a lot with poetry, introduced us to all different styles and some of my favorite poets (...metaphorically...most are dead ^^; ), and taught us lots of mnemonic stories to remember geography. (Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl named El Salvador who was in love with a boy named Panama. El Salvador also loved broccoli. She ate it so often she turned green! Well, Panama wasn't interested in a green girl, but El Salvador didn't care. She started chasing him, but Panama was faster; she hasn't caught up with him, but she hasn't given up, either. Beautiful green El Salvador has never caught Panama. Belieze, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama. Unfortunately, it doesn't help with spelling... ) Mrs. C. was great, too, at the middle school of the school system I currently go to. So was Mrs. B. Elsewhere: Mrs. W. and Mrs. F. were good English teachers. (Mrs. W. once started arguing with a friend of mine about whose Voices were controlling whose. Mrs. F. helped out a lot with a paper that got to the state finals.) Mrs. St. was my second-grade teacher; she was really, really nice. Mrs. So. was my kindergarten teacher; see above Mrs. R. was in middle school; see above again We always had to write spelling words in sentences in her class, which has always been one of my favorite bits of homework--the sentences didn't *have* to be related or anything, but it was always fun to try and work them together into a reasonably coherent story (especially in their number order!). Mr. B. was a GREAT math teacher--heh, I always kinda started daydreaming when he started lecturing (the information was in the book, so I wouldn't miss anything, and it was all so easy), but he was always really lenient and even PARTICIPATED in our weird, off-topic discussions and joked around with people. Coach H., a history teacher, rocked; he was always joking around and stuff. He showed movies a lot, though, and that was the last period of the day...heh Kinda hard to stay awake. Oh, and I can't forget Mrs. K. and Mrs. S. Our band directors are SO GREAT, although Mrs. S. is leaving Erm...yeah. I've had about three billion good teachers. This was probably waaaay more information than was needed, but...yeah.

Mr. H was the best band teacher ever! 40+ novice flute students, all rammed into half a portable, with not even enough room to hold our flutes straight out... those were the days. Within a year he'd shaped us into one of the most fantastic bands the area had ever seen; even if I can't play anymore, I'll never forget what he did for me.
Mr. von, my first friend at my old school - I'll never forget the day he gave back a math paper on which I'd been doodling random pictures of my hamsters and had actually written down a comment for me. We communicated through math paper doodles for the longer time... I miss him a lot.
The thing that makes a teacher really stand out is if they care about you. Being a good teacher is an entirely seperate issue, but you'll never forget the ones who didn't forget you.
To great teachers. *Lifts glass*

Hmm... My 1st grade teacher was REALLY great. We called her Miss Frizzle because she was so completely unpredictable.
My fifth grade teacher, Miss K, was always really sweet. Usually, by the time you get to fifth grade you don't hug your teachers any more, but everyone hugged Miss K. She was so lucky: all of the students liked her so much we would give her MASSAGES when we had the time.
My sixth grade Math teacher, Mr. A, was FUNNY. He was ALWAYS making jokes, mostly pointed at the math teacher on the other team. When he was teaching us matrixes, he drew out a matrix and at the top labeled columns "F", "M", and "O". He then proceded to put numbers under them while saying "In Mr. E's class, there are 12 females, 15 males, and 1 other. That would be Mr. E." he could ALWAYS make us laugh. Mr. E, on the ohter hand, would make his students groan with disgust when he talked about thinking about negative numbers "logicly". His idea of logic was that positives are good guys, negatives are bad guys, and when they meet they kill eachother off. In addition to being just plain stupid, it gave most of his students subconsciously wany ALL of the answers on their questions to turn out positive.
And of course, one of the best teacher's I have ever had, Miss Mom. My mom has been homeschooling me for two years now, putting the rest of her life aside to do so.
