It's the most wonderful time of the year which is to say, pumpkin spice latte season, but I recall promising that I'd keep this just-a-one-time-event-I-swear going as long as interest remains and I've already been prodded about it this year (more than a week ago, in fact). And experience shows that cards keep taking longer and longer each year to arrive, and our postal system just rolled out a statement that letter prices will increase combined with increased delivery times, because people are sending fewer and fewer letters. Gotta wonder, right? You know the rules and so do I *brick'd to 2007* but I don't get to cut corners on this nonetheless. - Everyone who's interested signs up within the allotted deadline (read: my best guesswork).
- I get everyone's address to everyone else involved.
- Everyone then sends a holiday card to everyone else on the signup list, also within the allotted deadline (read: still my best guesswork).
- Everyone gets to feel happy holiday cheer preferably sometime around the holidays (read: results may vary wildly).
- We aim to not make this the first year when something goes horribly wrong =D
with only really one primary rule in place: - you need to be an established member of the forum to sign up
although if you're not, you should probably have a better use for your priorities and finances than hoarding a bunch of internet strangers' addresses and then throwing postage money at them. Still. So! Who's it gonna be this year? I reckon signups should end on November 1st, since experience shows that those who do sign up sign up pretty fast anyway and I'm trying to adjust in line with the increasingly messy wobblies of the postal system. 1. Huntress and Fraze 2. Twillie 3. Carolyn 4. Celestial and Thundy 5. Ginz ❤ 6. Birdy 7. dcathartiq 8. Kat 9. notooryous PM me your addresses, please and thank you

I'm considering it for this year. I happen to have some leftover postcards from a convention last Spring, and this might make a good way to distribute them. Still hesitant about sharing my address, though.

Still hesitant about sharing my address, though. Yeah, there's no way around the address-sharing part - this really isn't the sort of thing to jump into unless you're 100% comfortable with it. I have too many kids in public education to be condoning peer pressure xP

I should probably inquire with the local post office if they're no longer excluding certain countries - otherwise some cards will be late, again, sent through Japan next time I'm there.

I should probably inquire with the local post office if they're no longer excluding certain countries - otherwise some cards will be late, again, sent through Japan next time I'm there. One option would be for you to send a batch of cards to someone who could then ship them on for you. Of course, that's the sort of thing that should by rights befall me, what with being the event coordinator, but our neck of the woods specifically seems to be the problem, so :'D ...wait, hang on, ACTUALLY this is the year to potentially be clever about it, because we'll be going to the US right after Christmas. We could just give you the address of one of Fraze's relatives in the area and they can hold on to it for us until we get there. Were there in fact any countries other than Estonia that yours was all "lol hahaha nope" about?

Kat Huntress I know Mexico was a hassle for Kat to send a card to as well. Kat, I don't mind if you don't send me one this time, or if it gets here very late. I don't want to cause you stress. So, whatever is easier for you. <3

I want to sign up, it's okay.
I'll find a way - if the post office betrays me again I'll just ask for someone who can send the cards for me or hang on to them till my next trip abroad.

Well, the US option still stands if you'd like to take it. Even if anything was to go sideways with our US trip (I've seen too many Icelandic volcanoes and pandemics in my time to put too much faith in plans >>), Fraze's aunt sends postcards to our kids on the regular so I doubt she'd have any issue forwarding your card to us even if we don't make it to her at the end of the year. And on a similar note, you could hypothetically send Ginz's card to her as well, and I can send it on to Ginz once I get to it. The post seems to move pretty fast between USA and Mexico so it might be a way to bypass all of the past wackies with endlessly delayed cards. ...in theory I could also be super clever this year and send our card to Ginz from the USA because this way it'd probably get there much faster, buuut then I wouldn't be able to use my brand new set of custom stamps that arrived today :'D Ginz ❤ , any preference either way?
