This feels like such a perfect Halloween night. The air is brisk, but not freezing. A few stars glimmer excitedly overhead. And you can hear the magnificent rustle of autumn leaves whispering, along with the distant hooting of an owl.
But--hmm. As you leave your last house and are on your way to the next, you pick up another sound. What is that? It maybe--clinks? No, that’s not the right word. Crackles? No, that’s not it, either. Shuffles? Clicks? Jangles? None of these quite fit. What’s the word you’re looking for...? Why can’t you put your finger on it?
You’re distracted from searching for a proper descriptor when you find the source of the noise: Lumbering toward you on the misty street is what appears to be a gigantic, weathered old book. It almost gives you a weird, suspiciously educational Muppet vibe, somehow. Its brown, beaten cover is covered in all manner of compartments and pockets full of eclectic objects hanging in all directions--air fresheners, banners, cords, decorative elastic, you name it. It looks like you could get lost just trying to find a zipper on its pockets.
At last, the odd object comes to a halt before you. The tome opens its own front cover with a creak and a cloud of dust, and you have a sudden thought--is it an enchanted spellbook on Halloween? Are you going to receive instructions for some kind of super cool spell??
The pages flip, and flip, until it lands on a page that is blank except for:
...Oh. ...An enchanted dictionary? Seeing this almost defies words. (Except it very much doesn't.) You try not to let your disappointment show on your face. It flips its pages again.
A long parchment scroll unfurls from one of the book creature’s multitude of cover pockets all the way to your feet.

Huh. Alright. Well. Quests imply some sort of reward when completed, so if you're up for it, you might as well claim one of these quests and try to do it!

Huh. Alright. Well. Quests imply some sort of reward when completed, so if you're up for it, you might as well claim one of these quests and try to do it!
Basically, post here saying which quest you’d like to claim, and then after you’ve completed it, please quote your sentence(s) here for the book creature to see so it can give you a reward!
Once you’ve successfully completed one quest, you can choose to do another quest if you like! But you gotta finish the one you claimed first. ^^
(Only one person can do each quest, and I'll cross them off/note when they're claimed.)
I won’t stop anybody from interacting and attempting quests in this thread, but I think it’d be fun if people tried to use their words/quests subtly in other house threads and made it suit what’s naturally happening there, as well!
(Also, feel free to conjugate any of the quest words. XD)
