Apparently the art errors from yesterday's page were so egregious that they actually fixed them. Fyora has wings now!

I wonder how Luxinia will play a role in the plot.

On today's dialogue The Skarl-bashing never fails to amuse me XD
This is the first time I've seen such an angry expression on Nabile's face *cowers*

We were talking about it a bit on Discord, but... It's actually kind of annoying that any character who expresses reasonable concern about the safety of the void essence (mostly Skarl) gets immediately shut down by the other characters. Like why is the rebuttal "They seem trustworthy, and also, they're sad, so stop being mean!!!1!1" instead of, I don't know, some evidence of it not spreading between Neopians? They said in the first set of dialogue that it was safe primarily because the void essence didn't persist for very long in Neopia, but that is clearly not the case here. But whatever, it's safe because the plot said so, everyone laugh at Skarl now.

Yeah, PFA sums up the discussion well. I was going on and on how this is among my least favorite tropes. x'D The trope being "the evidence of their innocence is because we have to be nice and we can't be mean to our besties!! Now let's never question them again.".
We don't need evidence or discussion of the logistics that are otherwise present and could very well prove the safety of their presence. (Like say, the fact that Nyx and Juni spent long periods of time with Baelia and Tavi just traveling between cities. And the fact that others have been fighting voidlings with no ill effects. Or the ephemerality of void essences. Or even the device that stops the spread on Nyx. Or Luxinia's vision showing the very specific way Nyx and Tavi got voided. All of these things could be discussed in the same span of conversation as we got for that segment.)
Nope, they're best friends now, and we never doubt our besties. So let's belittle the one person who's asking for a very reasonable thing and turn it into a personal attack when they try to push their important point, and trust our besties blindly. Belittling, dismissal, and retaliation is a mark of great leadership and not a sign of a hostile environment, right?
I'd take this all back if it turned out that they were contagious and this decision and dismissal doomed them all, but I don't think the plot will go deep enough for that, at least not at this point. This is the same plot that made the distance between Brightvale and Altador, separated by several countries and a mountain range, just one hurried run away.
But Juni the genius dog is a pretty funny plot point and zany enough for Neopia, no complaints there.

To be honest the writing so far has failed to really capture my interest. ^^; We're on Chapter 3 already but I still feel like I barely know who these characters are or why I should care about what happens to them. The main characters seem to be Baelia, Nyx, and Luxinia - but they all have basically the same personality. They all have a hidden talent, are kinda lacking in confidence, and want to be accepted. And that's it. There's no difference between them in terms of how they talk and act, or what they want. Even the leaders talk in the same voice too. For instance:
The military leader talks in the same way:
And so does Dr. Landelbrot:
It's just... none of them have any distinct voice or personality. When you read good writing, you can tell immediately who is who from the way they talk. And you feel like you can get to know them almost as if they were real people. You become invested in their journey and their struggle. This plot doesn't do that, sadly. I really miss the old plots and wish I had been able to participate in them instead of reading up on them afterwards. ;u; Isca and Caylis were well-crafted, memorable characters. And so was Hannah.

Honestly yeah, it probably says something that the first set of dialogue originally came out super glitched with the wrong characters delivering the wrong lines, and there were only a handful of lines that felt explicitly out-of-character. XD

All the silent pages have been really good at conveying setting and action and emotion. There were the introductory narration pages, Nyx's flashback, the current page, and I think a few others.
It's telling that the comic is at its best when nobody talks.
(Side note, I'm still wondering about the theory that Nyx is Reina's mom, that could be who was waving to her in the first flashback page.)

Anyone else trying out Dr. Landlebrot's Voidworks? I tried to play it on my browser, and after completing the first puzzle, it says I won. displays "The End", and suddenly about 1000 items show up in my inventory. I tried again and over 1500 items showed up after the game crashed. I didn't get the task completion or any plot points. Obviously the game is glitched and I submitted a ticket.

It was fine for me, though apparently it's been glitching out for a lot of people, yeah.
Also, because it doesn't actually say in the instructions, you have to make a closed circuit with no open pipes. I did not know this and couldn't figure out the final level because of it XD

Is the new puzzle game a "One try per day" deal?

Is the new puzzle game a "One try per day" deal? Seemingly yes, as it's not letting me play it a second time. It remains to be seen if we'll be able to play it again tomorrow though.

I got a message from their Help Desk telling me that my problem is a known problem and not to worry too much about all the items I get every time I try to play it. Lots of these items are expensive, soooo...

The last location for Orion's Prophecy is revealed. You have until the end of the the Altador Cup (if you signed up) to locate the tablet locations Final prizes for participating have been given, which includes a trophy upgrade if you previously participated in the Festival of Neggs PFA and downrightdude-I can definitely confirm Voidworks is daily.
