There was a brief bubble around r98-100 items. Some of the cheap ones shot up to ~30k, but prices seem to be settling down again. (Nobody seems interested in the lower rarities, I guess because everyone's trying to maximize their potential prize points.)
Just to note: Scroll of Dark Nova is currently one of, if not the cheapest item in the r98-100 range, due to being a Premium BD drop. It's like half the price of other items in that range. There's loads of them being sold right now, if anyone wants to stock up.
EDIT: I just saw that the point allocations got adjusted, so the above isn't really relevant anymore.

I think the r102-179 are like... quest prizes and stuff. Jhudora, Illusen cheese, and the like. Hopefully these won't hit the stratosphere as well, but just in case I bought like 100 some poisonous lollipops. TNT is really, er, embracing chaos this go, aren't they?

I had a quick look through my SDB and it seems like some Battledome prizes, e.g. Bang Bang Negg from the Tyrannian Battledome if you were in the habit of battling for the Obelisk, fall in that 102-179 category.
Some omelettes, Coltzan's Shrine items, and rewards from Brain Tree quests are in that category as well.
Definitely makes the event more accessible to the average Neopian, although I wish TNT had done this from the beginning instead of suddenly changing the rules.

Rather than chaos it seems to me like they're trying to make it impossible for hoarders to preemptively hoard all the good stuff before the event, which I doubt can be stopped entirely but I can only hope the changes in rules have punished some who drove prices ridiculously high.

Mm, fair point, Liou. Although I wonder if that was their intention or if it had that effect (making it too short notice for hoarders to jack up all the prices (for the most part, anyway)).

Awww, yiisss. Got a Fountain Faerie Quest -- didn't even notice, thought it was just a Water Faerie -- and Stephanie (swordlilly) sent me the item I needed and now Neoi_Wong is a Peach Chia!

...I got the Fountain Faerie two days in a row. Wish I had that kind of luck 10-15 years ago when I had actual pet goals. Anywho, could anybody here do me a favor and look up Grapefruit Gelert Lollypop for me on the Shop Wiz? The Neoboard filters won't let me post it. :T

I got a second FFQ today too, but my item is worth well over 100K.
At this point, I might just keep this quest active until the event ends/the item decreases in nps.

Mm, fair point, Liou. Although I wonder if that was their intention or if it had that effect (making it too short notice for hoarders to jack up all the prices (for the most part, anyway)). I dunno. I appreciate schadenfreude as much as the next person, and the chaos has been hilarious and the memes top-notch. But changing how an event works to punish a particular style of gameplay - even if it's a style that's widely disliked by the playerbase - really isn't a good look. The Sticky Snowball Situation a few years back was more understandable because that stood to massively throw off the balance of the CC that year - although they really should have said something before donations opened. The changes this time just seemed unnecessary. Reversing the point tiers for the r90-97 and r98-100 items seemed like a quick backpedal to reverse player behavior that should have been very predictable by now. They should absolutely have been aware that people will start hoarding and driving up the price of the highest-point-value items, especially since donations this year are so heavily limited. And the Tombola Squeezy Toy nerf... felt completely unnecessary and meanspirited. I really can't imagine that it would have imbalanced the game enough to care about. This all makes me slightly cautious about participating. The line between "stocking up on items to donate and maybe make a bit of profit on reselling extras" and "artificially hyperinflating the price of common items" is very blurry. If I was to, say, buy a couple hundred omelettes, which side of that line would I fall on from TNT's perspective, and am I likely to be punished for that with another rule change? Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to this CC and I'm definitely participating. But I'm apprehensive about what else TNT might decide to change in the spirit of fairness. EDIT: Oh yeah, I also got a second FFQ. Except the item had been inflated to 1.5M and I don't really want another paint job that badly, so I. Rejected it. And then felt a bit dirty, but at least I can use the Shop Wiz again now.

Man, senpai really isn't noticing me. Four faeries in this year's quest pool and so far I've gotten Aethia, Baelia (who referred me to a light faerie) and on two occasions now Fyora. So far every item has been affordable, at least. Now watch me either never get a FFQ or only get FFQs with insane inflated requests. meanwhile Fraze is going around being mildly guilty about his second FFQ in as much time Not that I even need an FFQ aside from maybe using it to doublepaint Tsuki and then doing some dreamies with my lab pets for other people but I've never had a FFQ in my twenty years on the site and this is very much a matter of principle now.

just me becoming BFFs with Aethia after she gave me a few quests in a row before Naia and Fyora ruined our moment
Seriously though if I get another FFQ while I still have one from this event I'll probably IDK paint a Xweetok on my side account a nice shade of...chocolate, or paint my ghost Lupe stealthy or something else. I honestly don't know what other converted pet colors I want - I'm just sitting here waiting for a Valentine Blumaroo to happen, really. Then who knows what else I'll do with the spare FFQ?
I've been insanely lucky so far that either the items asked from me are cheapo or in one case, a kind soul gifted me the item they restocked.
