“Merely a temporary setback. I was sealed away by that meddling Space Faerie, that much is true. However, I’d already foreseen that possibility.” Sloth steepled his fingers, a smirk crossing his lips and his holographic body flickered. “Prior to my imprisonment, I had developed an advanced technique to harness the power of Mira’s little token. I call it the Sigma Protocol, and it is perhaps my greatest accomplishment to date.”
Fear still remained on the edge of Korzara’s voice, but now she was also morbidly curious. “Sigma Protocol?”
“A method of shedding my corporeal body,” Sloth explained. “Using the very same magic that contained me, I converted myself into a being of pure data and escaped into the cosmos. Currently, I exist within the central supercomputer of this base, but I am by no means restricted to it. You’ve no doubt heard of my many replicate androids.”
“...You mean the Sloth Clones?” Korzara said hesitantly. “Those robots that look like you?”
“Correct,” said Sloth. “Apart from the occasional maverick, they have proven to be reliable minions. They now serve as a sort of backup hardware for myself. Should the system I inhabit fail, my consciousness will escape via hyperspace signal, and assume control of another body. In effect, I have become a living computer virus, one that can be uploaded into any of my machines.” I do wonder if anyone in TNT got this reference in my newest chapter. It's pretty on-the-nose, but then again I don't know how many of them are familiar with 1993 Super Nintendo action platfomers

Fyora, Queen of...Rubbish? by Melanie (surging) Melanie isn't on this forum (yet?) but I'll write a review for her anyway and share it with her offsite if she decides not to join.A really cute origin story about why Hidden Tower items can now be found at the Rubbish Dump. I enjoyed it. Sam's anxiety is very relatable xd I'm so glad he was able to find someone who appreciated him and didn't treat him like trash. (Pun intended.) Faerie Queen, Faerie Knight by KatI really enjoyed all the NQII details in this story! It's so moving to see a pixellated town made real. Even the innkeeper has a line: The last part, about Fyora and Aethia having known one another for millennia, is moving too. Overall a very lovely imagining of the aftermath of NQII, showing Aethia's character growth from self-doubt to self-acceptance - and the ability to let love in that comes with this acceptance - in just a few hours.

Copying over my comments from Neoboards Discussion thread for preservation and visibility. www.neopets.com/neoboards/topic.phtml?topic=162327207&next=1#bottom(we started making these boards a couple issues back to try to include people who might not come here) KatFaerie Queen, Faerie Knight by precious_katuch14 (Short Story) The pain of Aethia pouring herself into her work to avoid her own regrets and and feeling of shame at not being able to fulfill her role is really palpable. I like how Fyora reassured her. Every action counts even if it's effects are acunmulative instead of direct. Congrats on getting the little cheek peck in! LexA Royal Blunder by kuroneko_kitty (Comic) www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=588659&issue=984The way you simplified the BGs are great! HOW DID YOU EVEN DO THIS? (I got my answer. Efficient use of cutout filters!) I like the way you fill up the page with colour. You do a great job balancing your contrasts with such high saturation. Also your expressions are once again ON POINT. TwillieBlossoms~ Meeting Part 4 by twillieblossom www.neopets.com/ntimes/index.phtml?section=588652&issue=984I really like the way you handle the vertical flow of text and break thoughts up into smaller text bubbles. I'd think doing so would feel like it takes up too much space but instead it breaks text walls into easily read pieces and helps it flow around the imagery. Sleeping Johnathan is precious! the perspective with the bed in the 2nd to last panel is really nice.

Ahh yes, need to post mine as well! I had every intention of doing more, and may still, but the AC has been monopolizing my allotted neopets time A semi-review/progress update on Blossoms for Twillie (update, I've since read more and should hopefully be able to make a more formal review of the series soon!) I'm up to Games Night right now, and I've been jotting down little notes about things I like. I'll save those for a bigger review once I'm done, but I did want to say how impressed I am with how long you've been working on it and how far it's come. I admire the pace you've kept- I have to imagine you have the main story beats planned already, but how you've broken up each comic comes off as very well designed. Each story moves into the next chapter seamlessly and doesn't make the reader feel like they're missing anything (hard to do with the NT's short comic format). Each break makes sense and the progression feels natural. I'm really enjoying it so far.
A review for Life Improvised: Like A Fyora Tale by Kengplant I mentioned before how much I love Lar's angry face... and I'mma do it again C; But I think my favorite visual gag in this one is how her story gradually and literally pushes poor Griff off the page. Also the dynamic shots for the flashback/retelling panels are great. Excellent at conveying movement and energy as always! Review for N1GHTM4R3: Strength of a Guardian p1 my shellshocks I know your characters are not generally considered part of the Neopets world, but fun to see how you're integrating them into on-site lore. It'll be interesting to find out exactly what being a guardian entails. I wasn't able to figure it out from prior comics, but did look at your character page. Xac and Ultimo were once the same?

Lol, at least Fyora is able to take the criticism with grace! Also has me wondering what's got Ralvy so dressed up for Meridell, perhaps the start of the Altador Cup? I bring that up mainly because I love the mental image of her dressing like that for no particular reason, and you could catch her like that on a normal day xD Also, small little detail, but when I first saw the tiny Meridell logo painted on her ear, I thought it was a smiley face, and now that adds an extra laugh for me haha.
I think I saw you mention before how you made the backgrounds for this comic, but I'm trying to remember again. Did you use background items from the site, or were they hand drawn? Either way it turned out great, but if the former I also gotta commend you for editing them so they fit seamlessly in with your art style!
Life Improvised: Like a Fyora Tale by Kengplant
Love seeing Griff's lab ray adventures continued! It's like a little easter egg each time he shows up as something new, I'm interested to see what he may be next lol. It's also cool that his Tuskaninny form came in handy for when he saved Lar!
Love the creative way you introduced Lar and her story with Griff, I think it's a great use of the comic medium and the unique visual storytelling you can do with it. I'm also impressed with how much you made Lar's version of the story look like real colored pencil! (I'm assuming it was also drawn digitally)
I look forward to seeing more of Lar! Love her design and how tiny yet big in personality she is, and the pun in her name is great as well haha.
This is a fun format for an article, I love how niche it is and thus how much creative room it gives you when coming up with Fyora rumors!
Neat to see where some of our Faerie headcanons may be similar, such as how much sleep Faeries need. I also imagine that they do need to sleep, but less so than Neopets or humans. Maybe a good night's sleep every two days or something? Although if a Faerie has a particularly strenuous day, they may need some extra sleep of course, lol.
Also love the cartoon logic that Fyora has multiples of the same dress she rotates through xD I guess if it isn't broke, don't fix it, even with fashion!
With that last rumor, who knows, maybe Fyora's just had enough practice now that she can pass off for a real queen >> Does anybody today remember how well she ruled back in her earliest days?
Poor Crow by the way, for whatever Skarl did/said to him and what he may have done to put Skarl in such a mood lol. Guess it all worked out now that he has his dream boss, though.

Either way it turned out great, but if the former I also gotta commend you for editing them so they fit seamlessly in with your art style! Thank you so much for all these lovely reviews btw! You've been busy! They are indeed official site backgrounds. I run them through the cutout filter on PS until they are simple but recognizable; typically I always try to do my own BGs, but for something like this, when there's a ton of great images available and when the comic itself is essentially a one-off gag, I don't mind taking shortcuts. When I drafted this comic I was like "she's vising because Meridell is playing an away game at Faerieland!" only to remember no, that's not how the AC works LOL So it's probably "she's just weird and walks around like this" but more specifically "AC season is starting so she's turning it up to 11".
