This is a tie-in event to the mobile game Faerie's Hope. Your goal is to search Faerieland and Faerie City for any shards of New Faerieland. It's actually similar to the Moltaran Worms sidequest.

The prize shop is actually great. Anti-inflation TNT is fun.

This is a tie-in event to the mobile game Faerie's Hope. Wait, is there something to do in the mobile app as well or just on the site? The prize shop is actually great. Anti-inflation TNT is fun. Yes!! Very glad to see the re-release of Faerie Paint Brush, Faerie Petpet Paint Brush and Faerielands Destruction Background in particular. I like the new wearables, too. And the bomb is a welcome upgrade to my set. My battle pet can one-shot the Space Fungus on hard now. O:

Interesting idea, that there is some part of Faerieland still in the air and from it they're going to essentially "grow" a new sky Faerieland. I actually had this thought myself, though I don't remember if I ever put it into one of my NT articles or not. Neat we get to see the prizes early! And also neat they have old plot prizes, retired items, or just hard to get items in there. Though, gotta say I'm not sure how I feel about them having Hidden Tower items in the shop. Speaking of which, Varia's Bomb serves as an interesting rival to Ghostkerbomb, both having their pros and cons. I like it, though still debating should I get one with my points or just buy it off someone. ----- However already there's controversy because they didn't do a 1.5 day so a lot of players who play Neopets only in the morning only got 5 points instead of 25. And I gotta say, even if they did a 1.5 day, the punishment for being a day late is kind of major. Really? We only have a max 35 crystals to collect, and if you're a day late the other day's crystal drop from 5 points (for a total of 25 points) to 1 point (for not a total of 5 points; a 20 point loss!)! Why? There is NO reason that, if you can still collect yesterday's crystals, that you only get 1 point from them instead of 5. What about the crystals that they need to be delivered on day of release? Do they lose their power? If so, then why are you giving any points for the old crystals? Just give the full points, the "punishment" for a person beginning late should just be having to spend extra time finding all the crystals to catch up. Honestly I think they should get rid of the "have to complete task on release day" requirement for most events, if not all of them. All it does is punish those who either forget to do the daily task required of them or put an unnecessary time limit on a task (and when it's something like a tough GMC score, you're being double punished for not having the free time). Another example was the recent Neopies. I missed one release day. I forgot. BUT I still voted in EVERY category. Because, even though if you miss the release day you don't get the final prize, they still give you 72 HOURS (3 DAYS) to vote for a category! Sure, we get the prize for voting, but if I voted for every category just like a person who voted on every day of release, which should be the BARE MINIMUM requirement, why was I locked out of the final prize? What does it matter if I voted on day of release, the 2nd day, or the last day? The votes aren't tallied up until the voting time is over, my vote still counted! I get the idea on paper, it awards those who does their diligence and completes the tasks every day. But, as I went over with the above examples, not only doesn't it make sense, why should anyone care about the time someone else completes the task? If someone wants to spend extra time on a task or forgets, that's their business, I only care about doing mine. I don't mind if we both get the same final prize even though they spent a few extra days on one task and/or had to catch-up. Or, at the very least, give some wiggle room where it's a few release days we have to miss instead of being one-and-done.

Totally agree they need to stop having release day requirements--the fanbase is almost entirely adults now and it's not always reasonable to be online every single day. Not to mention the obvious time zones issue.
The event itself is fine. A simple scavenger hunt is no problem and it's always good to see more re-releases.

I love seeing the shards appear before the Faerieland map loads. Makes them easier to find.

Oh hey!! That bomb item is amazing! I can 1HKO the Space Fungus, I'm all about that. But yeah, no 1.5 day was... not a great plan. I can see why folks (especially those who are, you know, not in the Americas) wouldn't be thrilled.

I actually sent in an editorial question asking them to at least specify whether the 1st day will actually be 1.5 days. I learned about the event on Reddit after I had already logged off my computer. I didn't want to get on on my phone (and don't know my password anymore. Which I need to fix for other reasons... Ha!) and assumed the first day would be 1.5 days. I realize I shouldn't assume, especially if they don't put that in the FAQ, but old habits die hard.
And I also agree that "day of release" requirements are pretty dumb. Should have added that to my editorial.

I'm gonna ask the editorial about the extra shard counts people are getting.

Folks are getting extra shards? Is it capping out at 35, I hope?

downrightdude and Carolyn-If I remember correctly, it's 5 shards per day, so if someone misses a day, then they'll find more shards, although missed days will only award 1 point for shards found instead of 5.
