Nice to meet you all, I'm Zenn. I returned to Neo after a several-year hiatus (which in turn came after a hiatus of over eleven years), and decided I'd try my shot at writing for the NT, which was a childhood dream of mine that I never quite managed to make happen. Since I've had some fairly extensive experience writing fanfics at this point, I figured now would be as good a time to chase this old dream of mine as any.  |

Hello Zenn! I'm curious, what sort of stuff have you already written, and what sort of stuff are you looking to do in the Times? I was quite active in the My Little Pony fandom back when FiM was still airing and I do still have a (technically still uncompleted) series there which crosses over with the Magic the Gathering storyline. My current "main" fic project is an ongoing crossover between Hollow Knight and another indie video game called Bug Fables.
As for what I write, action-adventure stories are generally my forte, typically with large-scale conflicts that have high stakes at play. My Times stuff is probably going to follow in a similar vein, with the main difference being that they'll be shorter and some of the more edgy content will be toned down a bit. I've already submitted a story to the Times for the March 10th issue, which is a six-part series based on the backstory I gave to my Pirate Techo, Korzara: www.neopets.com/petlookup.phtml?pet=Korzara |

Where would you locate the MTG storyline these days? I used to play back in 2011-ish but got tired of how often new sets with new rules kept coming out. I only ever interacted with the cards themselves
I love Korzara's customization! Great to see such a cool Techo. They're very underused pets. The summary on her petpage is intriguing. I hope your series makes it in soon!
I don't know how series have been handled lately, but be warned that often only one new series is published per issue (they've been making exceptions for themed series in themed issues) so if it gets Too Many Good Entried keep resubmitting, (or check with the writers here if you think something might be too grey or the NT rules)

There was some confusion w/ the change in policy (no longer holding stories over, etc.) but I did confirm w/ the current editor that they'd received the submission, hoping it gets in this time. As for the MtG story, you check it out on the official Magic: the Gathering website, which updates regularly with short stories for each new set. I'd personally checked out of the Magic storyline after 2018's War of the Spark: Forsaken novel, which was absolutely terrible for reasons that are too numerous to get into here. |
