I recently learned that there is a way to play some of the old Flash games on the site. The answer is a browser extension called Ruffle, which is a flash emulator written in the Rust programming language. You can read about it and download it here: ruffle.rs/ It is available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. Not all of the old Flash games work with this emulator, but I found a good many that do, and of those, I selected the ones with the best score-to-NP ratios which I have now compiled on a petpage: www.neopets.com/~EggeredThe ratios change on the 25th of every month, so on Jan 25 I'll be doing some exploring again (hopefully with help!) to figure out which games have the best ratios. In the meantime, I hope you find this page useful I'm also open to any feedback or constructive suggestions.

Hi, Stephanie, you might want to check if Ruffle is still available for Firefox. The link to the add-on page cannot be found.
Otherwise, thanks for this petpage! Time to go for more trophies now I suppose

Looks like an interesting project! I hope they get a FF plugin (again?), as I refuse to bow to pressure and switch from my beloved browser since I was a little kid.
...so on Jan 25 I'll be doing some exploring again (hopefully with help!) to figure out which games have the best ratios. Getting the NP ratios from the game pages sounds like something that could be relatively easily automated with a script...

Yes, I can't believe the Firefox app store no longer has it! D: I downloaded it on like December 27 and still have it on my Firefox browser. Getting the NP ratios from the game pages sounds like something that could be relatively easily automated with a script... A script could definitely streamline the process of gathering the NP ratios to look at, but in the end, it requires manual effort to determine which ratios are good ones. For example, scoring 70 in Snowbeast Snackrifice takes 1 minute and 30 seconds. But scoring 100,000 in Hubrid's Hero Heist to earn the same amount of neopoints according to current ratios takes about 20 minutes. There is the added issue too that not all the Flash games are fully compatible with Ruffle. For example, in Typing Terror, you can die on Level One for no reason. In Lost in Space Fungus, the game sticks at the end of Level One and won't advance you to the next level. I realized though that my page was trying to do 2 different things: 1) list which games work with Ruffle; 2) list which games have good ratios (in the tradition of these sorts of posts). Some people just want to know which games are playable, period. So I have now added a new section of games with relatively poor ratios that people might nonetheless want to play for fun, nostalgia, or to achieve a high score.

Ratios have changed.
These games have worse ratios than before: Itchy Invasion: previously score ~1K to get 1K nps, now the neopoint reward is halved. Jelly Blobs of Doom: previously score ~1K to get 1K, now halved. Snowbeast Snackrifice: previously score 70 to get 1K, now score 180. (still fast to play though)
These games have better ratios than before: Hubrid's Hero Heist: previously score 100,000 to get 1K, now 50,000 to get 1K. (still slow to play though) Goparokko (mirror): unsure what it was before, but now it's score ~1.5K to get 1K.
These games' ratios didn't change much and are still good for farming 1K nps per play: Bouncy Supreme Snow Wars II Sophie's Stew (mirror) Escape from Meridell Castle Jubble Bubble Warf Rescue Team Nimmo's Pond Faerie Bubbles (mirror) Scourge of the Lab Jellies (mirror) Crisis Courier (mirror) Web of Vernax (mirror)

Ratios have changed. Good news! Ruffle has improved compatibility with ActionScript 2. These games, which were previously glitchy, now run smoothly with Ruffle:Stowaway Sting Typing Terror Usuki Frenzy According to Ruffle's developer patch notes, the team is working on compatibility with ActionScript 3 next, which means many games that currently do not work (Kou Jong, Assignment 53 and Dungeon Dash to name a few) could potentially work with a future update. These games have worse ratios than before:Chia Bomber II Ghost Bopper Turmac Roll Snow Wars II Meerca Chase II Warf Rescue Team These games have better ratios than before:Bouncy Supreme: score 1,050 for 1K nps The Usul Suspects: score 890 for 1K nps Stowaway Sting (mirror): score 344 for 1K nps These games' ratios didn't change:Jubble Bubble Sutek's Tomb Escape from Meridell Castle Sophie's Stew (mirror) Crisis Courier (mirror) Faerie Bubbles (mirror) Scourge of the Lab Jellies (mirror) Web of Vernax (mirror) Goparokko (mirror) Also, here's something I learned from the Avatar Chat. Volcano Run II currently partially works with Ruffle in that if you fly higher than 50% of the screen, the game glitches and makes you die. BUT, somehow the bottom part is limitless and you can fly as low as you like without dying. You can even fall down right to the edge of the screen, passing through the walls, and not die. Soooo if you're missing the Volcano Run II avatar, the game is still playable... sorta... lol.
