Well, I thought I had received all the cards, but Pixie's card arrived a few weeks ago. A nice spring surprise. And I love the panda. My second favorite animal behind the sloth.

>____> <____< IT'S CHRISTMAS! =D No, really, great timing actually. Here I've been trying to wrestle with the fact that summer is coming to a close and fall is approaching and maybe that comes with its own brand of lovely things and enjoyable activities to look forward to. And just now I was coming back home with a bag of foraged apples (people leave them outside their fences to be taken for free when there's a big crop year) pondering a new apple pie recipe I got from this French guy we get pastries from (I asked him for an extra bag for the apples and we ended up swapping recipes), and lo, Ginz ❤ 's card is in the mail. This is exactly how you get me excited about the change in seasons. (really tho, the outbound stamp says 22 Dec and inbound stamp says 2 Sept and I really gotta wonder what adventures it's had inbetween.) This card is a work of art in its entirety, really - the pretty picture and the kitty drawing and the gorgeous handwriting and the little hearts that tie it all together into a whole <3 Thank you so much - for the good wishes, for the thought that went into this card, and for what it bridged for me today.

W-wow, that card must have traveled literally all over the world. That's a really long turn-around time. @_@ Glad it made it safe!

Huntress - oh my goodness, that's an unexpected surprise! To be honest, when I saw the notification that you had tagged me, I thought you had started this year's thread early or something. I have no idea what happened or how my card took this long to arrive, but hey, I'm glad it made it! \o/ MERRY CHRISTMAS IN SEPTEMBER! XD Thank you for sharing the holiday joy! <3 Also, apple pie sounds lovely.

Oh my goodness. I want to hear this card's story! And it totally feels like the plot of either a really cheesy Hallmark Movie for adults, or a really cute cartoon movie for kids. I'm going with the kids version.

And it totally feels like the plot of either a really cheesy Hallmark Movie for adults, or a really cute cartoon movie for kids. I'm going with the kids version. *Clears throat* Once upon a time, there was a cheerful little Christmas card. It had nice drawings and a beautifully written message inside, and it was covered in stickers. It even had stickers on its envelope! The envelope said that it was going from Mexico to Estonia. The card was very excited to go on such a long trip! The card was taken to the post office, where it was loaded into a bin, and then into a truck, and then through machinery into another bin. There were more bins and trucks and there might even have been a plane, and it all felt like a very big adventure to the little card. But eventually, the card got put in a bin and left there. At first it waited patiently. But its patience soon turned to curiosity, and then to worry, and then to sadness. Had it been forgotten? Was it no longer wanted? The card was afraid that nobody would ever get to see its stickers or beautiful handwritten message. The card sat there at the bottom of the bin for so long that it almost gave up hope. But then one day, it heard a voice. "Hey, when's the last time someone cleared this out?" "No idea," came another voice. "Probably not since the other guy quit." A hand reached out and picked up the card. "Wow, there's mail here from last Christmas." "Go send it to get sorted, then." The card was dropped back into the bin, and began to move again. Was it finally going to be delivered? The card went on another plane, and then into a few more bins, and eventually into a truck. At last it was put into a narrow box with a few other pieces of mail. When the door of the mailbox clanged open, the card nearly burst with excitement. "Whoa," said a voice. "Whaaaat?" said a second voice. "Ginz's card just arrived!" "Seriously?" The envelope was carefully opened with a sword-shaped letter opener, and at last the card saw the beaming faces of its recipients. The card was opened and read. The recipients complimented its stickers and drawings and beautiful handwritten message. "Oh man," one of the recipients said. "This is the first card we're hanging on the wall this Christmas." At last, the card was very happy.
