Aw. Okay, that ending was cute. The Talpidat is honestly super adorable, and I like the "subterranean water creature" idea, like they actually gave a bit of thought to its habitat while still making it stupid cute. I chose the unpainted one--I'll have to think about which pet to give it to. |

Okay, I wholeheartedly approve of this cute lil elevated-storyline-not-quite-a-plot. It's a little bit more than a standard "take your neggs and shoo" but simple enough that it holds together well and adds to the world at large.
Also managed to get all prizes I had my eye on, which wasn't much this time; generally I'm after wearables, foods and books. And the stamp, but I'm yet to take stamp collecting very seriously.
(my only actual gripe with the whole thing being that they seem consistently insistent on dropping commas from their direct addresses, arghaghagh.)

The ending was adorable. And the professor reminded me of my professor who encouraged me to write... He told US that his former students had named him "Ramblin' Hamblin." XD

Blueysicle Thanks but I just ended up buying a few before the event ended.  While posting guess I should post my ending thoughts: Not how I thought it would ended (even had a funny joke about how some were suspecting another Neggbreaker reappearance/relative) but I like how, unlike the craziness of last time, this time it ended on a rather smaller & reined in. Turns out it wasn't some new antagonistic force powering itself on Negg juice, it was just a little cute Petpet which diet consists of Neggs. "Talpidat" is a bit out a mouthful to say, but I like its design (even if it doesn't really fit Neovia's aesthetics).
If you're curious on my pick, I decided to pick the Spring Talpidat. No real reason, just that it looked distinct between normal and Eventide. Not sure why they went with Eventide as the other Colour though, feel Zombie or Ghost may have worked better and been more thematic.
Going deeper on the story, I like the inclusion of characters and feel they're getting better with characterizations. They've grown accustomed to writing Kari as the point-of-view character though try throwing in personal bits only pertaining to her. Tippens remains the excitable yet professional gentlemen host who things sometimes gets over his head. Sophie was a surprise inclusion and aside from an odd statement of having "old bones" (I think canonically she's in her mid 20s early 30s), I liked her cranky attitude of being pulled into this nonsense. Kuger was an especially surprise inclusion, the name sounded familiar so knew he was an existing "character" though wasn't until the specific mention of his Gruslen discovery did I remember. He was fun, though felt his parts did kind of drag things out for how wordy they got.
Well looking forward to the final prizes tomorrow.
