As usual, I won't be writing a novel specifically, but I wanna take advantage of the NaNoWriMo energy to make progress on an original comic series I've been working on! I also used the October daily drawing prompts to do this, which you might've seen with all the drawings I made for my ghost character, Gibi. Since I've started on this story some months back, I've made good progress in some areas, but there's still plenty more that need a lot of work lol.
I don't have any specific number I'm working towards, but I do have a couple daily and end-of-the-month goals I'd like to work at.
-Do some daily writing to plan out the plot and/or characters -Do a daily sketch that details plot points or explores character designs (since basically everyone but Gibi still needs one lol) -Have at least one draft of the plot from start to finish completed by the end of the month
Said draft doesn't need to be a certain length, but I want to at least be able to detail the basic story- beginning, middle, and end- by the month's end, since right now I can only do so for the very start and finish. The middle is always the hardest part to make decisions for, so I want to push myself more with it.
Not sure which I'll be doing more of, writing or drawing, so that'll be interesting to discover throughout the month. I'd like to take a page out of many anime studios' creative process wherein they don't create a traditional script, but instead storyboard everything first, thus letting the visuals be the anchor to the story and its atmosphere. I feel it'd help me find a distinct visual voice for the comic, and it could perhaps be a better way for me to brainstorm for areas I'm stuck on.
I'll try and update here when I can, whatever form those updates may take!
