Hey there, Holiday Jumblers! How are your submissions going? I hope you've shredded all sorts of calendars and greeting cards in there! Remember to send us your submission form or otherwise tell us about your entries so we know what to expect on our orderly not chaotic calendar, ohoho!

When is the deadline? A week before April?

When is the deadline? A week before April? The official deadline is March 18th, but a week before would probably be okay.

Mine is a very silly Illudora short story that's mostly Jhudora trying to keep her cool as they share a day.

I've got a comic in the coloring stage right now, so I'll probably be able to finish it by or over this coming weekend!

I'll be honest, I'm having some issues (I don't feel the theme fits very well with article formats) and I'm not liking what I currently have. I have an alternate idea on how to "fix" it, but it means starting from scratch. So consider me a "Possibly".

I don't feel the theme fits very well with article formats Agree.
I managed to come up with 3-4 ideas but they aren't enough to pull out minimum word count. They could be converted as comics, though I feel more comfortable with articles than with other formats. I still hope for miracle.

I'm doing an article (if my job doesn't utterly wreck my energy levels because lol tax season) by choosing a few holidays and saying they're combined now and how to best plan for a Christmas, Halloween, and valentines day hybrid lol
Maybe pick 2 or 3 and write about them as if they've always been together? Or have interviews on what folks are doing for these weird, hybrid holidays? Or idk, how to dress up for every holiday with chaotic customs and events?

Like, thinking about party-planning ideas for a multiple-holiday celebration!

I'm doing an article (if my job doesn't utterly wreck my energy levels because lol tax season) by choosing a few holidays and saying they're combined now and how to best plan for a Christmas, Halloween, and valentines day hybrid lol Maybe pick 2 or 3 and write about them as if they've always been together? Or have interviews on what folks are doing for these weird, hybrid holidays? Or idk, how to dress up for every holiday with chaotic customs and events? Using the non-Pet Day holiday on the official Neopian Calendar, I've written a list of "logical" combinations and writing down a 24 hour schedule of when events for those certain combinations are happening (with a short description of the event). The previous one I was working on was which holidays mixed together well and which didn't, but after writing a few pages it came out reading very dry and some I didn't feel were sticking with the theme of the article (some of the ideas of course will be recycled into the new more simpler schedule article). I'm of course not saying there aren't article ideas, but for this theme it feels like they fall in the same general ball park of describing what a combination of the holiday is gonna be like and then any additional info which matches the article theme (how to plan for them, their schedule, dressing up for them). I was thinking of doing interviews but decided against it for a personal writing reason (for April Fools articles I like to imagine the actual Neopian Characters don't know what's going on and I'm pretty much the first person most are hearing this from, and for this theme I feel that would be hard to have the character go "oh well I guess that's a thing"). It feels like if you were writing a story or drawing a comic it would be easier to think something up. Stories would be how the characters navigate the author's perspective how such an "Every Holiday Day" be handled which I doubt any two would be the same. Comics has a treasure trove of combination jokes they can do or lean into how this doesn't make any sense. There's a much bigger imagination pool to jump into with Stories and Comics than there is for Articles is all I'm saying.

Article concepts, hmmm... *tries to bend thinking cap back into shape*
What if... you... went the opposite way?
The holidays have to happen all at once, that is already established trufact. Either the characters were informed right before the beginning of the article, or you break the news at the start. But then... surely they cannot all literally be celebrated at once? It's not practical, right? So, one of them will have to go. Maybe more. SACRIFICE! MAKE THEM FIGHT for their celebrations! Let them make their pitches! Maybe some of them will try to team up by merging their holidays more practically than the others so you can truly celebrate the two at once! Maybe others will defend their own as the best holiday and roast all of the others!

Liou just brought in Obelisk War vibes and new fractions, lol.
I had a similar idea about a schedule like Duke Pikachu mentioned. Although I developed it until it didn't fall into "all at once", more like "one after another". Other one was kinda depressing and grumpy - a petition why we should have all at once holidays. That wouldn't even be a sad joke, it would just be sad.
I talked with my friend who doesn't even know Neopets about this theme. They listened to my ideas and reasons why I can't write about it and they said: "For God's sake - just write!" :D
Anyway, I appreciate the discussion about this theme and possible ideas for articles.
