Hello, Neopets Community!

My name is TNT Petrichor (Petra, if you'd prefer), and I am the new Community Manager for Neopets here at JumpStart Games. I am absolutely delighted to meet you all and am looking forward to our future adventures together in Neopia!

While you can often find me in Faerieland, I am originally from Australia and now reside in Oregon where I chase rainbows with my wonderful family and fur babies. I've worked as a Community Manager in the Gaming Industry for over 11 years on various projects and I have a passion for helping gamers more deeply connect with the products they love. Like many of you, my adventures in Neopia began as a child, and after a long time away, I am excitedly returning to help serve this amazing community.

When I'm not learning about Neopets, you can find me indoor gardening, badly playing the guitar, or doing some Yoga to calm my nerves after playing through a scary video game. I love cooking, the smell of rain, and coffee.

I'm here to help make sure your voices are heard within JumpStart and to communicate on behalf of the Neopets team. You should expect to see improved communication, more ways to engage with each other, and spicy memes.

On that note, let's start things off with some fun!

We're excited to Introduce the "Share Your Story" community event, and all you need to do to be eligible to win some NC is to share your favorite Neopets memory with us! As someone new to Neopets, I feel honored to be able to learn the game through your memories and experiences.

From 8/13/21 to 8/31/21 leave us a post in the '"Site Events"' : www.neopets.com/neoboards/boardlist.phtml?board=7 section of the Neoboards sharing your favorite Neopets memory with us! This could be an in-game experience or perhaps a story about how Neopets has impacted you. (I'll be lurking in the section waiting for amazing stories to read!)

Make sure your thread title contains the word "My Neopets Story".

There will be 5 winners selected who will each receive 1000 Neocash!

The 5 winners will be selected by the Neopets team.

We're suckers for heartwarming, exciting, and/or interesting stories. If you don't win, please know we still appreciate your time and effort! <3

Winners will be announced on or before 9/10/2021.

Please try to keep your stories to a reasonable length; we simply won't have time to review them if they are too long.

Petra likes the smell of rain, huh. Hence "petrichor". I agree, I hope this smooths things out more; the staff have been trying to reach out more often to the users for input for new items and ideas but they can still do much more than that.

Anyway, I joined the contest. I won Neocreation last year by spinning my entry into a poem, I don't know if that same stunt is gonna get me anywhere this time, haha.

I submitted my story also. I doubt it will win, but I hope at least some people find it to be a cool story. Basically, the story of the Battle of the Obelisk Plot (which I just realized I likely gave the wrong title/plot name in my story.... *palm to forehead*) and how my "Band of Seekers" helped support me as I was recovering from my hip surgery.

Okay. So I at least gave "War of The Obelisk" for a title. I was thinking I had completely misidentified it, because I don't remember misspelling Obelisk (as I almost always do if I don't have it typed out to look at) and correcting it. Ha!
