I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but lately I can't go to any non-beta page on Neo without it either crashing my browser or freezing my entire computer.
Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me? And if others are, is this a neo problem? A Chrome problem? Or what?

Ads. *ominous crack of thunder*
If you have adblock (presumably do) and look at the number of ads blocked on a given Neopets page, it easily stretches into the thousands. Word on the boards was that it helps to move from Adblock to Ublock, but that made a difference for me for only a few days and now I'm back in the same page-crashing boat.
The one way around it is basically hit-n-run tactics: open a page, quickly do what you came to do and close the page before the ads start piling up. Which I'll grant is an immensely dumb way of playing what's supposed to be a nostalgic recreational petsite.

I'm pretty sure it's not a Chrome issue as I'm running Neo on Chrome with no issues. Then again, I'm not on the site as much, especially non beta pages, so I haven't experienced the site crashing the browser and/or computer

I mean, sometimes its so fast that I can't do ANYTHING on a non-beta page. Like the battledome or the food club.
Am I just supposed to wait until those get converted, or do I need to switch browsers?

I just looked at the daily puzzle page and it was 159,037 ads and rising fast.

Do you use adblock, as Huntress suggested the problem may be?

Do you use adblock, as Huntress suggested the problem may be? I use uBlock Origin.

I also use Chrome with Ublock and still have the site-crashing problem. In fact, just ran a quick test since I stay logged in in two browsers for my two accounts: Chrome and Ublock are virtually unplayable (y u no give me my stocks? D:) whereas Firefox with Adblock Plus do generate the same issue, but more slowly - I would be able to at least poke around on a page before it starts giving me problems. Except there isn't much I can do on my side account xP Odds are somewhat good that it's a problem that varies by location, not by computer specs - ads vary by location, after all. I know that Fraze has the same problem on Chrome, although I don't know his adblocker off the top of my head. Interestingly, disabling the adblock doesn't make a difference. I can't see any ads but the page is getting bombarded by some sort of requests that eventually freeze the page. Same with Adblock Plus on the side account (ads not blocked but not showing, blocks 13k requests). As in, we're not even talking about excessive ads per se, but some kind of a *vague I'm-not-a-computer-person handwave* network request tsunami of heck knows what kind of queries.

What do you suppose the fix is? Something TNT as to do?

I'm in New York, Queens specifically. What do you suppose the fix is? Something TNT as to do? Well certainly TNT can do something, it sounds like it's something that shouldn't even be happening but likely while transitioning things a few scripts broke. If it's location based, maybe changing your IP address could work?

The other option sounds like move to Firefox, anyone finding issues with that?

The other option sounds like move to Firefox, anyone finding issues with that? I use FF on Windows 10. It usually works well, and lags rarely; sometimes though the page freezes for a few seconds if it once had flash. I even play without disabling ads, gotta give 'em revenue somehow.

Been using Firefox the whole time, not a single crashy page problem over here, nope!
