(I take suggestions for a more creative title. I wasn't sure whether to call it Trolberg, or the Sparrow Scouts, or something else... so I went with the obvious self-descriptive name instead XD) Anyway, I recently kind of binge watched the first two seasons of Hilda that are available so far 1, and I loved the show! The characters are funny and endearing, the humor is amazing, and I just love how it embraces the magical and whimsical as part of regular everyday life. It's super entertaining and enthralling, and I thought it'd be nice to have someone to chat about it with! Anyone else who has watched it and liked it? Who is/are your favorite character(s)? Do you have any guesses or wishes for what might happen in the future? I'm not even sure how to answer my own questions, because I like pretty much everyone? XD But I have a special soft spot for Hilda's mom, I think she's the best. I kind of relate to her. Alfur is probably the one who amuses me the most, and Twig is the cutest! Hilda, Frida, and David are all awesome in their own ways, and they make such a great team! As for what I'd like to see happen... Season 2 spoilers: Would absolutely love to see the cute elf who was a fan of Alfur's work return. She seemed very sweet and awesome. I want her to join the adventures sometime!
Also, definitely want to see Frida learning more magic. That's always fun!
And I'd like to see Johanna continue to be more involved too, like their mom/daughter dynamic seemed to be going towards at the end. And speaking of... How about that cliffhanger finale!! How could they do that to us?! AAAAaaaaaa (I hope it's okay I tag Lizica I know you love the show too, and I love your Alfur avatar!) 1I would like to thank my sponsor, my boyfriend's Netflix account, for making this possible. I knew he liked the series, and we'd been watching it together on the weekends. He rewatched season 1 with me, but season 2 was new for both of us. It was fun to experience it together!

Aahhh, Hilda!! <3 Thank you for the tag, Ginz, I do love this show. =D (...I may or may not have watched the first season four times (once with my parents, two more times when I forcibly introduced each of my siblings to it, and again during my birthday week last year), read all the graphic novels, and am very ready to rewatch season two sometime. XDD) Anyway, I think I first heard about it from people chatting on the NTWF Discord server, so I have you all to thank, too. ^^ But yes!!! It's just so so good, you all!! Everything Ginz said. =D I love how the magical elements are so normal and everyday in this world, the characters are all so wonderful and endearing, and everything is just brimming with creativity and feels so warm and fresh and cozy (even if it can also be life-threatening sometimes xD). I once told Pixie that it's a show that in some ways sort of feels like coming home. And the art! *swoon* The whole atmosphere with its limited color scheme, the backgrounds, the designs, the animation (they animate dust motes floating in shafts of sunlight, like honestly, talk about dedication)--everything is visually steeped with so much love and care. To answer the questions-- It definitely is hard to choose favorite characters, but I think my favorites are Alfur and the Raven, and probably Tildy, too? But of course I love them all. <3 Johanna is such a champion. And for sure, Hilda, Frida, and David are all fantastic in their own ways that work so well together! Also, shout-out to the Wood Man and Tontu. They're all so good. What I'd like to see happen, with S2 spoilers: Quick preface to say that I got to read Hilda and the Mountain King, the last graphic novel and the one that follows the Stone Forest, but I will be very careful to either avoid spoilers or to note/hide them very clearly before saying anything about it. But I WILL say that of the graphic novels, it was far and away my favorite of them, so if the series follows suit, we are in for a treat, and I'm SO EXCITED to see how they adapt it!!
Seconding more witch development for Frida! As well as some more good hero moments for David.
I'd also love to see Gil from the Jorts ep again, I really liked him. XD
Would also really like to see more character development and a proper resolution for Victoria Van Gale.
Low key (high key) want to see Tildy and Mr. Ostenfeld casually talking, maybe even just in a background shot or something. Is it wishful thinking that I want them to be friends, at least? (The Fifty Year Night absolutely destroyed me, folks ;;_;;)
I have faith that the writers will address Hilda needing to learn from her mistakes, butyeah, that's a major character thread that I want more focus on in the future!
And for sure, more Johanna involvement, too! Just in general, more focus on her as a character would be great.
I hope the Great Raven comes back, even briefly. (All the recurring characters have been wonderful to see.)
...Probably forgetting lots of things, but basically, I'm full of excitement for whatever comes next! <3 Ready for surprises and resolutions alike! (And hmmm... XD I'm kinda coming up blank for other ideas for a thread title, too, but this one is also good!)

Haha, some coincidental timing! After keeping it on the backburner for so long, I finally started giving Hilda a watch a few days ago! I'm five episodes into it so far, so I don't have too much to say right now, but I am enjoying it! I was actually pleasantly surprised, as I wasn't sure how much to expect (the simplistic character designs tricked me I think), but it's so far exceeded what I was imagining it'd be. The characters are all very enjoyable, which is especially impressive considering how many are young kids, a group I think is difficult to write. I also like how they play with scale of characters. In one episode, Hilda's the giant to other characters, and in another, she's the tiny ant. I feel like it makes the characters and setting more in tune with each other. Everyone is smaller and bigger than something else, rather than maybe just Hilda being an outlier and sticking out from her environment. Not sure I have a favorite character yet, although so far I'm enjoying Hilda herself greatly. Probably because she's a nature lover who just wants to run around the forest all day, which I can relate to haha. I'm also open to see what the first season will bring before making predictions on events, as I'm still getting a feel for how far or deep this show will go with its stories. I remember recommendations from this show mostly from Lizica, and it's funny because as I watch, I can 100% see why you love it so much! If I didn't know any better, I'd think it was something that you actually made xD Like, every new character I'm like, "This feels like someone Lizica would write, that's the same sense of humor as hers, etc." xD

asdfghjkl Apparently Forbidden Planet is making a line of Jorts products, including tea towels and coasters. X'DDD
Do I need a Jorts hoodie? Nah, I've got enough hoodies. Is part of me still sorta tempted? Maybe. xD
((If anyone was curious, Gund and Forbidden Planet have Hilda merch! I caved and bought a plushie blind box from Gund awhile back when they were available, and got a cool little plush keychain of the troll mother. ^^ I can't vouch for Forbidden Planet, but it's at least very entertaining to look at their Hilda stuff. xD))

I just finished watching season 1 of Hilda this week. It was so good, then again, clever spunky elementary to middle grade girl is a favorite trope of mine.
I've been watching it while doing dishes, which works out nicely. I don't have the patience to sit and watch stuff most of the time, and I've only very recently gotten access to Netflix anyway.
I did read one or two of the graphic novels, I think out of order because I just grabbed an interesting graphic novel while at my library, as I often do.
Anyway, I won't read the spoilers until I finish season 2. And there's a movie as well, apparently, I think that goes after season 2? Very excited.

Over a month late in replying, but dang! Yeah, season 3!! I still want to rewatch the last five minutes, because I was probably feeling too many Feelings to fully take it all in at the time. ;;w;; Makes me want to rewatch the entire series, to be honest. <333 (Even though I wish S3 could have been longer, I'm SO glad we got it at all!)
