Personally, I feel like "The Sea" and "Pirates vs. Ninjas" have a bit of overlap, at least as far as the "pirates" part of the latter goes. (Well, I suppose there's nothing stopping anyone from writing a story set in space about alien pirates vs. robot ninjas, actually) I went with "The Sea", since I think it's a bit broader of a category. And also for purely selfish reasons, since I already have a story idea that would fit the theme.
...though considering that Pirates vs. Ninjas is such a classic battle, I'm kind of surprised we never chose it for a theme before. xD

I first learned about the great unending rivalry that is Pirates vs. Ninjas here on the NTWF, after all, back when Kat was but a wee high school lass trying to fit in with the cool kids in the forum ahahaha Of course I picked pirates. Anyway, I think it's safe to say that regardless of which theme wins this poll, the other themes will definitely become other collabs in the future. I have no idea what to do about The Surreal but let's be real here, I write in the NeoQuest II universe so it's only a matter of time before I come up with an idea and everyone is like "OH KAT NOT AGAIN" |

Nothing wrong with doing so, but even if we don't, "bizarre" is considered by some websites to be a synonym of "surreal". The surreal can be considered to include the bizarre, and besides, it's ultimately up to the authors and artists how to interpret "surreal". |
