Up to 1074 words for "The Normal" Let's pull the opening paragraph out, shall we?

Rabbit and I finished Edna's Quests with Rabbit and June. It was fun. Would have been nice to have a proper wrap-up post, but we didn't have time. I was a lot busier than I planned on being that week. For not being in college anymore, I sure do find a lot of ways to use up my free time.
Speaking of using up free time. Knitting.
See, my aunt who lives out of town is downsizing. And she knits. And I mentioned one day to her I like yarn. So now I have tons of yarn from her, and nothing to do with it. So I figure it's time to learn to knit. Went to the local craft store today and found some knitting needles on clearance, and bought a beginner's book. A different aunt said she'd teach me, but I figured having a book would be helpful as well.
So that is why I'm learning to knit. Because I have too much yarn. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When life gives you yarn, you knit.
In other news, I need to get around to seeking Beta readers for upcoming projects.

Finished with "The Normal," except it's at 1199 words, and needs to be over 1200. There's gotta be a sentence I can add in there, and I did add some words. But I also removed words, and this is where I'm at right now. There's a certain flow to the story, and I don't want to interrupt it, but I might have to in order to up the word count.
Whatever, I've moved on to the Beta reading step with that short story, so hopefully a second set of eyes will help there.
"The Normal" explores what Saskori is afraid of. Though isn't doesn't answer why she's afraid of it. Which is definitely a question I find myself pondering now. Still, I plan to leave it unanswered for this short story.
Some books I've read come with discussion questions. I feel like this story short could use some discussion questions. There's a lot to think about.

"The Normal" is at 1382 words, thanks to the feedback! The feedback was helpful in other ways as well.
Little unsure if I want to angle the story in such a way that it fits the birthday issue of the Times, so I'll think about at work tomorrow, and probably submit it after work.

We'll see if it's meant to be birthday themed or not!

Things are moving quickly with this story!
I've noted elsewhere, but I'm already thinking o=about more Saskori stories now. This one left some loose threads, and I keep thinking about them. Of course, I have other projects to work on as well.
Got that final needed Neohome screenshot.
I worked on the Web of Vernax Game Guide some. Kind of don't know where to go with it, but that;s why I'm writing it with Kat.
Also worked on the Main NT article update.
Had the day off, so I had time to work on stuff like this. It was nice.

And The Normal was published yesterday. I was curious what quote Aesop would pull from the story, but he ended up writing his own little summary, here:
Which sums up the story quite nicely, I suppose, though it's a bit more... cheery than the actual story.
I made a discussion thread for the Birthday Issue, I need to maybe reply to it when I have some time. Looking at a 40 hour week next week, though. I had 35 originally this week, but I was asked to come in to help on one of my days off, so ended up being 39 hours.
Since I'm using my Crime Show characters for Spirit Weeks this week, I figure I better work on that some. I think the next step is to find a beta reader for my scripts. There's all sorts of people to ask, but argh, they're all so busy, and I'm busy too, and it makes me nervous to ask. I could also make a general inquiry thread on the proper board here, asking for beta readers. Let people come to me, if they have the time and interest.
We'll see, I guess.

Started PM-a-friend finally, and uncoincidentally, I have a beta reader for the current state of Crime Show.
It was suggested by them I could make a schedule for progress. The thought had never occurred to me, somehow. But it's a good idea.
So I guess the next step is to figure out a schedule for my projects. Right now I just sort of do things as I have time. But then projects like Crime Show get put off, and I'd at least like to draw the characters every week so I don't lose them.
OF course, it's hard for me to plan my schedule too far ahead, but I figure I can at least have weekly goals, and not plan which days I do them. And I get my schedule on Thursday, so maybe I can plan ahead what I'll do for the week then.
Still reading through the birthday issue. I've finished the comics, and am halfway through one NTWF short story.
