It's November for me already. As I've mentioned once before, I'm no longer used to writing longer stories so I've been leaning on the Neopian Times to help me with that before I embark on my original novel idea...or ideas.
I have a bunch of series still unfinished and series ideas that are only ideas so I might use NaNo to get started. One of them is A Hero's Journey: Rivalry which will be the first series chronologically in the second arc of A Hero's Journey. Here is the basic plot, which continues to tie the NQII plot with the rest of the Neopian timeline.

Whatever.

One of them is A Hero's Journey: Rivalry which will be the first series chronologically in the second arc of A Hero's Journey. Here is the basic plot, which continues to tie the NQII plot with the rest of the Neopian timeline.
Following the events of NQII and the downfall of King Terask in Faerieland, Rohane, who led a team of adventurers to victories across five Neopian lands, is officially inducted into the knights of Meridell (the actual knighting will be the plot of the short story in progress, A Hero's Journey: The Next Step, which I need to FINISH by TODAY to get it out of the way). But tension escalates between him and Jeran, who currently commands the knights, leading to a lot of jealousy and resentment, much of which is rooted in the fact that Jeran's knight-master is Rohane's father.
Jeran is jealous because he failed to defeat Ramtor, and has to deal with many Meridellians still talking about Rohane's victories all around him. On the other hand, Rohane thinks that his father probably spent more time training and mentoring Jeran than he ever did raising his family. A simple bet to find the lost locket of Sir Reynold within the castle explodes into an all-out competition that culminates in the most brutal duel to ever be fought on the grounds of Meridell Castle, and perhaps that is what these two heroes need to finally understand each other.
