Hello I don't quite know if this is the proper place, or what I'm truly doing here. I used to login to this board and post all the time, but that was years and years ago, almost a decade now even. I don't know if anyone would even know who am I, coming back in all aged and matured now. Lately I just felt nostalgic and wondered "what happened?" when was the last time that I logged into this site that was the nexus of my existence during my late teenage years? It's past midnight and I guess i just wanted to post something rather than lurk around awkwardly. Perusing through these threads the last few days has completely swept me up in memories. Last night I tried to find some of the old works I'd published in the NT and Storytelling and just got weepy with memories of how much this community meant to me back then. Obviously, I moved on from Neopets at a certain point, got into other hobbies and found less and less time spent in that group. I had the inkling to return though. Neopets and NTWF truly was a birthplace for me and my internet identity, I learned and developed so much just meeting so many wonderful and unique people here. Lately I've been doing a lot of work to get my life to where I want it to be, and one thing on my mind was just "what happy memories do I want to recreate?" and one that stood above the rest was just how I felt when something I had worked had on got published and people would read it. Not just the fact of having it done, but the community of it all. Knowing that there were others who would comment on my work, push me to be better, but encourage me to know that I would have a caring audience. I think it was tremendous for me in building that passion. I still don't really know if I won't just lose interest in my Neo account again within a month or so, but I thought I'd stop being a ghost and just post something about what this site has meant for me in the past. See if there's any old friends I've coldly left out of touch, or make new friends perhaps. Sorry for long sappy post, I saw Positive Spin and couldn't hold my beak. <3

Hey Parrot! I remember you from years ago, yes! I think I left before you did when I lost interest in Neopets and ran out of steam (or so I thought) for the NT, but just like you, I found my way back here eventually, older and hopefully a better version of myself. I also read back through a lot of old threads, dug up my old work, and got super nostalgic - nostalgic enough that I fell back into the NT and more besides. I'm really glad to see you again, and I hope you can stick around like old times. It feels good to know that there are people who felt the same way I did, who walked away but somehow found their way back. And don't worry about being sappy. This is the perfect place in the forum to get real sappy.

Glad to see you've been kicking around here too, makes me feel a little less like a relic of a forgotten era already. Thank you! I really do want to dive back into the community. I think growing up and living that adult life made me realize just how much time I had for hobbies like this in High School. But writing was a huge creative outlet for me back then, I want to find that spark again. How have y'all been?

I would have to agree that there is a wonderful writing community here, we push and encourage each other to do our best, or at least get stuff written, and edit it later.
It's lovely to meet you Parrot, I'm June, I mostly focus on comics around here. Were there any particular projects you were hoping to tackle as long as you're here? What did you work on in the past?

Hi June, great to meet you too! I mainly wrote stories and series for the Times (though I tried my hand at storytelling and poetry a few times as well). I had a few overlapping "shared universe" series ongoing back in the day. I always had bigger plans to keep it going but at some point just ran out of motivation. I'd love to get back into writing and seeing my stuff show up in the weekly editions, not sure what I'd want to write though, possibly picking up some of my old projects though if I felt the inspiration for it.

It's definitely been a while, but I vaguely remember you, Parrot. Although the community has diminished over the years, it's still a place where creativity is encouraged.
You know, you're not the only 'veteran' of Neo and the NTWF that has returned over the past months. Hopefully, you'll be able to channel your creativity again, just like Kat.

Don't worry, you're with fellow relics, heh. If I can find that spark again, so can you. I sorely missed doing a lot of writing too while living my adult life and getting my life together in general, and now it's becoming an outlet for me while I'm unemployed and struggling with some mental health issues. Hopefully, you'll be able to channel your creativity again, just like Kat. ...and get buried under a bundle of WIPs, that's my life now. SMH

Hi Parrot! Welcome back, I hope you enjoy your time here again, whether you choose to stay for a little or a while :3 I think I joined some time after you left, so we never got to meet proper, but I'm Twillie! Indeed, the NTWF may not be the same as it was years ago, but the people still here continue to be creative both on and off of Neopets platforms :3 I've got a long-running NT comic series I've been making (and at this point will continue to make even if it kills me xD).
That'd be really neat to read any new stories you make for the NT! Continuing old ideas sounds like a fun idea to sort of fulfill past dreams, but I can also get starting off completely fresh with a blank page for your creativity :3

It's good to see you, welcome back! I joined about six years ago, but I started writing for the NT before then, and I still remember your username as one of the great old ones that inspired me to begin when I was a wee nooblet. I remember your story about the Kau Defender and being thrilled to see a story focusing on a lady defender, and stories about faeries and Sophie and being delighted to discover the personality you gave some of my favourite neo characters. Have a good time here and best of luck getting back into your creative projects.

Best of luck in your endeavors as well; I need to get back into the swing of checking out what people have been writing! And of course, thank you everyone for the kind welcome back messages
