Hi fellow humans! The Dragon Prince is one of my favourite shows, and I've been planning a rewatch. But rewatches are always way more fun with friends along for the ride!
I thought we could do this like the NTWF movie nights: I'll load up my netflix, we all hop into discord chat, and we watch TDP together! Whether you're rewatching as well or this is your first time seeing the show, I'd love to see you forumers there. <3
Current plan is to start with season one, see how that goes, and we'll continue from there if people are keen. Season one has nine episodes, so if we plan to watch three for our first 'session', and then three more each time after, it should work out well. That would come to 1-1.5 hours per session, depending on episode length (they vary a little.)
All that remains to be decided now is the time and day for watching those first three episodes! I'm thinking 8:30pm UTC some day next week, but have definite wriggle room around that suggested time, and haven't decided on the day. Only days that are out for sure on my end are Sunday and Thursday.

I definitely would be excited to join you for this if I can!! =DD It's been awhile since I saw TDP, and I definitely have never watched it together with friends!
Time-wise, I also wouldn't be able to do Sunday, but probably could do most other days as long as I know in advance. *looks up UTC calculator* I think I could do 8:30 UTC if I can plan ahead! I also could do some hideous hour later in the evening, too, depending on how late it runs, because I'm more likely to have time to myself then. I think that'd be around 3-4 am UTC, but probably not much later than that? XD

That would be too late for Celes (who is keen to join us!), but maybe we could wriggle a bit later than my initial idea to like...9 or 10pm UTC? If we did this time on a...Saturday, maybe? Because that's normally EuroAtlantis day and so I am less likely to be asked to work last-minute or whatever, but we don't have EuroAtlantis on Saturday 19th. I am still open to other suggestions though, besides the days I already ruled out! For anyone who hasn't watched the show before and isn't sure whether or not they're keen: here's the season one opening! And also the season one trailer which, as trailers tend to do, does give you some spoilers for the early series. But it also gives you a good idea of the direction the story takes, whereas the season opener above is a bit more vague. |

Yeah, 8-10pm UTC would be fine for me! That's only 4-6pm for me here, so it's just a matter of finding a time that'll work for everyone. (And I've seen it before, so I could always tune in late if it's better for the Europe folks! ^^)
I probably could do a Saturday, but I'll defer to everyone else for the date, because I'm currently in "What day is it? What month is it? Time has no meaning" land. xD

8pm UTC works for a European Friendo who just checked in with me, so unless somebody else is keen and this wouldn't work (and thus we need to move the time a bit later), looks like 8pm UTC on Saturday 19th would be A Good!!!

I'm sure you'll be able to join us for at least some of the rewatch, as we'll be watching it over multiple Viewing Sessions anyway!!

I've never given TDP a watch before, so any watch time I'm able to make I'd be happy to join in! :3 I don't believe that 8pm UTC on the 19th would work for me, as that's right when my shift for work starts, but if that time and date works for most others interested, then don't worry about changing things just for me xD
Just in case it comes in useful down the road, my typical availability is 1pm UTC to 7pm UTC, and then a couple hours between 3am UTC to 5am UTC. On my days off, I should be free any time, but those days rotate throughout the weeks, and I'm not familiar enough with my schedule to predict when they happen off the top of my head xD

So 1pm to 7pm UTC is 1am-7am my time, which sadly won't work (unless we did a shorter, hour long viewing between 1 and 2 am, 2am being the absolute latest I'm willing to stay up!) But when we get talking about future viewings, you can tell us your days off for that specific week and we can take it into account, perhaps? If you don't mind jumping in halfway through a season, that is (there are recaps at the starts of episodes anyway!)
(Or we could watch a catch-up viewing of the first three together since you'll miss the 8pm UTC start time, I'm always down for more TDP. =P)
3am-5am UTC works for me, but not Celes and Liou. Dunno about the others.

Lol yeahhh, while it's nice not having morning shifts, my new work schedule has unfortunately wiped out my availability for those magic hours when our night coincides with the other side of the world's morning xD More likely than not it'll come down to my days off in the coming weeks indeed (for this coming week at least, I'll be off the 10th and 11th, and then next week the 15th and 16th).
And yeah, I don't mind jumping in at any point, I can prep beforehand or catch up on missed episodes another time! :3

15th and 16th? Hmm. I am free for either! Those are weeknights/weekdays though, so I don't imagine they would work so well for the group as a whole...but if they do, maybe we can try one of those days instead. What do you think, other Interested Parties? If the 15th or 16th don't work, we'll just stick with the Saturday.
Do you have netflix yourself for the purposes of Catching Up, Twillie?

I've added a poll to the first post with the dates we're deciding between.
Please vote for all the dates you would be willing and able to make!
And then we can finalise the date for our First TDP Watching Session from there...=D
We should be finished up by 11:30pm UTC if we only watch the first three episodes.

Gonna leave the poll open for a couple more days! So there's still time to let me know your availability if you'd like to join us for this one.
I finally did the obvious thing and checked the runtimes of the first three episodes on netflix. They are 24, 25 and 26 minutes long, totalling 75 minutes. Should be a nice easy watch!
