Annually from 2008-2015, and again in 2018, there was this neat little event called ‘Spirit Weeks’. For this event, we dressed our forum profiles in accordance with a new theme every 3-4 days. Some people got really into it and did lots of in-character posts with their chosen ‘costume’, others dressed up their profile for a single post- there's no right or wrong way to do Spirit Weeks! There are people who dress their profiles up for every theme, others who dress up for just one, and everyone in between. There were even photo booth threads so people could document their costumes for posterity.

I think Spirit Weeks is an amazing way to foster community spirit, and to provide a much-needed bit of fun in current times. Therefore, I’m hosting this 2020 NTWF Spirit Weeks event! Yay!!!

As someone who has been around for the first two Spirit Weeks, I am so in. (Also if we're doing comics TIME FOR SCOTT PILGRIM - )

- Cartoons (yeah, gonna nominate that right off the bat)
- Anime/manga
- Food
- Book characters
- Anything goes (you pick your own theme! I suggested this during the first Spirit Weeks and I think we ended with that.)

I think there was one Spirit Week where forumers mixed and match profiles from other (active) forumers, often to hilarious results.

And seeing as we are the NTWF, Neopian lore or Neopian characters.

I didn’t realize we hadn’t had spirit weeks in so long! I don’t have theme suggestions right now, but I just wanna say this is one of my favorite events and I’m really excited it’s making a comeback! Thank you for bringing it back! 💖

Wow, so many already! =O Thanks for the suggestions, folks!

I've combined a few themes that are similar (roleplay characters can go under original characters, for example.) I'm also not sure whether Neopets is too narrow, as not all of us (including myself) actually play Neopets. I'll keep the theme on the list for now in the spirit of the forum's origins, but in general submissions should be a bit broader.

Maybe for one that's more broad and includes Neopets, Pet Site lore/characters/pets? (Or just Pet Sites)

Pet Sites could be cool! I think that would allow people who play Flight Rising and similar sites to take part as well. Will update the list now.

"Virtual Pets" might also work and encompass all pet sims and web games.
