In order to keep the main thread tidy and focused on just prompts and writing, this is where we'll have responses and comments to works written during the prompts and any other related chatter. You don't have to participate in the prompts themselves to comment on someone's work so if you saw something you liked or wanted to comment on, post that here. To see this week's prompts, and people's responses to past prompts, head over to the main thread!

Would people like me to use my moldy modly powers to move the posts with just responses and comments here?

Ooh go for it! I did not actually know that was a thing y'all could do. xD

It absolutely is! ...Although disclaimer before I do it. It will still order posts chronologically. I don't know what that'd do to the first post. xD EDIT: Breakingchains -- Okay, I looked it up, and apparently moving posts would have the first chronological moved post be above your initial post here. That... may be a problem. You could either go with it anyway and have the title speak for itself, or take the first off-topic post (which I believe is yours anyway; I could quote it in my post as a reply) and edit its contents so that it becomes the first post of this thread. Leaving it up to you as it's kind of a weird logistics thing that may depend on personal preferences. xD

Ohh. Honestly even that sounds kind of strange. xD May be best to just leave them as they are?

Sure thing; that's fine with me. ^^
*Shakes fist at Proboards limitations.* ....Eh, I can't complain too much, this forum has survived this long without blowing up. xD
Now to actually consider this week's prompts! (It's been a brain-static/brain-ennui weekend/week for me.)

It doesn't bother me personally, just thought having separate threads would be tidier going forward. Hello, shiny new thread! <3 I have no ideas for any of this week's prompts so far, but I'll think of something! Also Gelquie: thanks so much for your lovely comments on my pieces! <3 It makes me especially happy that you think I convey non-humanoids well. Because yeah! The fiends in this piece and in EuroAtlantis more generally do have quite different needs from humanoids, and I do try to make that clear when I get the chance.

I sat down with no real idea what I wanted to write, and finished drafting Chains' prompt in one sitting! An original piece too, not using any of my existing worlds or characters, thus meeting that goal for this week. Yay!

Nice! I've got something combining "Starry-eyed" and "Undisturbed until now", if I can actually finish it EDIT: Surprise! It's another Murder Plot(tm)! Oops. xD

My new piece is up. Thorn and my prompts combined made me think of a statue with special/weird eyes so I took it in a ruins-explorer kind of direction. Plus I seem to like writing long descriptive passages about reality falling apart so there ya go.

Breakingchains - That was a really fun and intriguing piece to read! That was a great passage describing reality falling apart, and fits well with the reality that it was a death curse. That was also a nice touch at the end, regarding why she was getting the idol. x3 This was great!

Responses to last week's pieces:Gelquie Amani: The opening dialogue feels typical of kids everywhere. xD There'll always be that one child!!!
Interesting take on the lifespans thing, and how bratty elf kidduns might view humans. Good of Amani to defend their mum like that! Sword: Yay sword! I love this- my main experience with sentient weapons (besides Dave the Barbarian), is with D&D, and this would fit right in as the backstory for many a magical weapon companion, moments before it is found by a New Wielder. <3
Breakingchains I really enjoyed the description of her bracing the magic! And 'death curses that can be warded' is a cool take I haven't seen before. The murdery twist at the end is again surprising and casts a new light onto the previous text and the protagonist's actions!

Sorry I'm late, thoughts! Gelquie : Interesting take! There's a lot of sentient weapons in fantasy, kind of cool to see a take on one that gets deliberately sealed away.
Thorn : I like the character voice here and I'd love to see it developed further. And I like the idea of something that has been around long enough to just... accidentally miss out on human evolution xD It cuts off kinda suddenly but that might have been intentional on your part? Either way, neat piece.
