Into the Striderverse - A more fleshed-out Neopia

Okay, so. I've been playing on Neopets in some form since 2000, so I've seen pretty much all of the plots. I'm going to go down the major players (a mix of my OCs and on-site characters)

The characters

Hunter Riordan:

The central protagonist of the Striderverse. A White Lupe hailing from Meridell, he is the son of the legendary knight Sir Artair, renowned as the greatest hero in Meridellian history and the late mentor to Jeran.  His father was killed by Kass in the first Citadel War, but Hunter has found a new father figure in Lord Darigan, of all people. He has also made an unusual family in his travels; his wife is the Shenkuuvian ninja Miraja, and their housemates are Allorah, a Sakhmetian dancer; Rorik, a Darigani soldier; Vespin, an archer from Bogshot; and Davey "Bones" Mulligan, a crusty old sailor from Krawk Island.

Hunter is a kind soul, who prefers to not fight unless he absolutely has to. He tries to understand everyone; an idealist to the core, he once believed that everyone has some good inside them. While some villains he have faced proved this belief wrong, he nevertheless will try to rationalize with his enemies before coming to blows with them. Due to the survivor's guilt over his father's death and constantly being compared to his father, he lacks confidence and constantly downplays his achievements. He is easily flustered when women flirt with him, even moreso after marrying Miraja.

A skilled swordfighter, he fights with his father's holy sword kept in a reinforced sheath, striking his foes with his sheathed sword as a blunt instrument to avoid bloodshed. He only unsheathes it when there is no other option and he is forced to take down a foe for good. In addition, contact with the Orb in his youth has granted him holy powers, which he uses to heal and defend others.

Tien Miraja:

A Striped Xweetok. The estranged daughter of Shenkuuvian nobles, Miraja fled an abusive home and a forced marriage at the age of fourteen. She became a street urchin and pickpocket, but was adopted by Sensei Jirah when she tried to steal from the old Nimmo.

For the next few years of her life, Jirah was the parent she wished she had to begin with, training her in the arts of ninjutsu; Miraja specialized in hand-to-hand combat, training to harness chi to grow incredibly strong. After finishing her training, she decided to go out into Neopia as a mercenary, taking odd jobs to slay monsters and protect others.

She stumbled upon Hunter in the Lost Desert when the White Lupe was aiding the famous adventurer Hannah after she had been betrayed by a thief. Hunter and Hannah enlisted Miraja's services, and she joined them on their quest to rid Hannah of her curse. This was the beginning of a strong bond that would grow stronger through other adventures; eventually, she and Hunter decided to marry.

Miraja's personality can best be described as "chaotic;" she is hot-tempered and excitable. Extremely passionate, she gives her all in everything she does; her courageousness is dragged down by stubbornness, and she refuses to back down when challenged. She is extremely competitive and likes to demonstrate her incredible strength and agility to others. Despite her fiery temper, she cares deeply about others, and will never refuse to lend a hand to someone in need. She cares deeply about her friends.

Unfortunately, her boisterous, fun-loving nature fades into fearful submissiveness around her parents, Lord Batsu and Lady Hokori. They severely physically and emotionally abused her throughout her childhood with the aim of making her a "perfect bride" that they would then wed to an even richer nobleman and grow richer from the dowries.
