New mobile game entering closed beta

Nobody seems to have made a thread, so: They announced in the news that there is going to be a closed beta for a third Neopets mobile game. You can apply for the beta here. Jellyneo mentions that this is likely the Neopets X game shown off at Comic-con.

I don't really follow comic-con announcements so this is the first time I've looked at the preview. Looks like a town-building/resource management game, which is very much up my alley (assuming the monetization isn't too aggressive) so I signed up straightaway. Anyone else hoping to get in, or have thoughts on the preview?

I applied too! When I first heard of this world-building game, I had hoped it would take place in existing Neopian lands. So I was a little disappointed when it didn’t. Still, it seems pretty cute. I’m curious about the gameplay, and I hope it’s fun. I really want one of these projects to succeed! (And be as fun as the past games like Treasure Keepers and Habi.)

Although I can already suggest one improvement based on the preview: There needs to be a Kau, lol.

Since I actually occasionally check my Promotions tab in gmail, today I found out that I'd been selected as a closed beta tester for this thing.

Funky business with that, because Fraze and I applied via the same form roughly at the same time, even citing pretty much the same games (since we kind of keep each other playing our various games) and he was selected as the mobile site beta tester about a week ago. So it looks like they allocated their applicants based on dunno, phases of the moon or something. So far I haven't developed a very clear impression of it but I'll continue poking around and see if the road forks into Townbuilding Game Addiction (one can hope) or "meh, can't be bothered" (I tried to like Legends and Letters, I really did e___e).

only thing is that according to the email, they only made a Discord server for tester feedback, which. well. I don't have a problem with making a Discord account if it came to that, s'just that I've never really had a reason so far and I'll have to really go down the Townbuilding Game Addiction route real hard to be wanting to also jump through that hoop and plunging headfirst into figuring out the ins and outs of Discord on top of the game itself. Doesn't look like the game itself has any kind of a feedback-giving button, nor is there a separate neoboard on Neopets like for the mobile site testing.
