The attack didn't work. In fact, did the bamboo shoot get a little bit taller? "Princess Sunshine!" came the voice of that weather person—Era, wasn't it? "If you can do something with flash, this is your chance!""Huh? But..." Princess Sunshine started, trailing off as Era started taking pictures. Using the camera flashes wasn't a bad idea—her powers were light-based, after all—but what was she supposed to do? That last attack did nothing! But she had to do something, she thought, especially as Evi joined in and started taking pictures, too. She was Princess Sunshine; she couldn't let them down! Maybe she just needed a different approach... She twirled her wand in the air, light gathering around it as she focused. If she couldn't destroy the plants, then maybe she could at least calm them down. " Summer Sunshine Relaxation!" Light shot from her wand again, but it was softer this time, and generated a soothing warmth. Maybe she could have used this spell while wandering around in the snow, she realized belatedly. Then again, Anton probably wouldn't have liked it. From the corner of her eye, she noticed that somebody was able to successfully uproot one of the bamboo shoots using some sort of magical gauntlets. "Hey, keep it up!" she shouted at them. Princess Sunshine is confused by Era ( Gelquie)'s suggestion to use the light from the camera flash, since her earlier attack only seemed to make the bamboo shoot stronger, if anything. But, when Era and Evi ( RielCZ) start taking pictures of her, she decides that she has to give it another shot, and tries a soothing spell instead of an attack this time. She also passively realizes that Anton ( Fraze) probably wouldn't much like her sun powers. Also, seeing that the Gardening Gauntlets were effective, she cheers on whoever used them!

Flashes were going off at a rapid pace, coming from multiple disparate directions at once, and the bamboo plants swayed in a rising state of aggravation. Each flash was like a small, disorienting pinprick of unnatural light against them.
But from the local magical girl came a warm, soothing wash of light magic. The bamboo shoot relaxed and started to grow again, and the large stalk of bamboo seemed to pause--but this only lasted a moment, and they became angered again almost immediately as the spell faded. It was like further enraging an angry person by telling them to just calm down.
The giant bamboo, now even more incensed, bent down and swiped its lower branch at the explorers again. Someone cried out in alarm, and seizing the Sheer Shears and taking advantage of the bamboo stalk’s close range, they leaped forward and caught the bamboo between the shears’ blades.
The bamboo recoiled upwards with a snap, nearly taking the Shears and its assailant with it. Its roots roiled deep in the earth, and the stalk, while cut and damaged, was still hanging on, and now doubly furious. Someone hurried forward and tried to stop its movements using the Ethereal Earplugs’ magic ability against it, but the bamboo would have none of it.
The smaller bamboo shoot angrily jabbed at the explorers within its meager reach, and it took two of the puzzlers to pull it up from the ground with the Gardening Gauntlets. This shoot, too, rolled away in submission, but not before passing the snake plant farther away, who, wound up in righteous fury at the assailants, surged its roots forward, moving through the dirt until it was right beside the damaged bamboo. It spread its pointed leaves in a flourish, unfurling like the fins of a particularly angry betta fish.
From her perch on the flamingo’s back, Holiday curled her leaves in disbelief. She bore an exaggeratedly neutral expression, unable to process the utter chaos of the situation. The flamingo silently mouthed incredulous sputterings. Erratic paparazzi photography, sparkly magical girl poses, monstrous plants on the warpath, frenzied blows shooting wildly back and forth-- ...How had this even happened. Previous Status - Front: 1 Large Bamboo (A) and 1 Bamboo Shoot (B); Middle: 1 Snake Plant and 1 Kudzu Golem.

Results - The Earplugs’ magical ability has no effect on the Large Bamboo (A). The Shears attack the Large Bamboo (A) and damage it! The Gauntlets successfully pull up Bamboo Shoot (B) from the ground! Shoot (B) has been defeated! + The Snake Plant moves forward into the front, and is now accessible.

Aggie jumped away from the kudzu as it recoiled from her touch. However, the kudzu retreated, allowing them inside. Nevertheless, the Tea Witch was wary. She had learned enough from the maze on the way here to know that this will not be so easy. Whoever the Lady of the House was, she took her protection seriously. Nevertheless, Aggie put on her biggest smile, smoothed out her skirt and blouse, and stepped inside, already thinking of what kind of teas to summon to appease the lady. As they walked inward, she could not help but admire the vast array of impressive plants. Aggie's garden of tea was good but this was something else. She just had to ask the Lady of the House for some gardening tips. Though perhaps not too many tips. Just as they got close to the Lady of the House, the kudzu blocked their path, followed by several shoots of bamboo and a snake plant. "H-oolong, please try to get to her!" The owl took off but his path was blocked by the snake lily. He hooted and clawed at it, but his small claws barely made a dent. Annoyed, H-oolong returned to Era's shoulder, hissing and clicking his beak at the plants. His plumage puffed out in an attempt to make himself look scarier. In practice, he looked like an oversized ball of lint. Purr-eh had run off as soon as the plants had begun to attack. That was when she saw Mr. Snuggles try to get close and get knocked down by the bamoo. Stupid cat! Why did he not watch where he was going? Except now this gave her a chance to prove herself a better fighter than him. She jumped from Aggie and rushed over to be by his side, giving him a smug look. She hissed at the bamboo, snatching a claw in when it got too close. Aggie looked at the plants, trying to think of what to do. She did have teas that they could use but she did not want to throw him and accidentally hurt either the Lady or her companions. However, at that moment, one of the teams, Princess Sunshine stood forward and began to attack. Era cheered her on and Aggie joined them. Perhaps they could do this. "I suppose we will have to deal with these annoying weeds," she remarked. The gauntlets were on her hands and she pulled them up over her sleeves, making sure they fit snugly. The small piece of bamboo had gotten close to the two cats and Aggie yanked at it. "Oh no you do not!" she yelled and pulled it out, throwing it aside. Princess Sunshine noticed and gave her a shout of encouragement, to which the Tea Witch replied with a thumbs up. Right after she pulled out another shoot of bamboo. Era and Evi were taking photographs and Aggie spared a moment to flash them a smile. "That is an excellent distraction too, keep it up! she called out the two photographers. "This is definitely a moment worth remembering. H-oolong was less keen on all the flashing. Being on Era's head still, he was a bit more exposed to it. Still, it was what the mistress wanted, and there seemed to be no better place to be. To Princess Sunshine, Aggie reached into her basket and tossed a fairy cake. "This should make your attacks a little bit more magical," she said, flourishing a smile. Helping herself to one, she brushed some stray leaves off the gauntlets and looked at the large bamboo. Its smaller cousins were taken care of, now it was time for the biggest weed of them all. "Purr-eh, Mr. Snuggles, darlings, do keep it distracted for me. I'm going to have a go. I have been wanting new utensils for a while, and this may provide just the materials..." Hope nobody minds I am taking the Gauntlets, since Aggie was wearing them in the first place. H-oolong tries to get the attention of the Lady but he is blocked in his attempts. He resigns himself to remaining on Era's ( Gelquie) head, even though he hates the flashes. Purr-Eh, in an attempt to show up Mr. Snuggles, goes to join him in his fight against the bamboo. Because someone needs to teach that silly cat how to fight. Aggie begins to use the gauntlets to pull things up. She has experience dealing with weeds. She gives some encouragement to Princess Sunshine( PFA) in the form of a fairy cake to help strengthen magical attacks before preparing to deal with the big bamboo.

Taking Aggie’s cue, Mr. Snuggles marched nobly from behind Rose, taking a moment to brush by Purr-eh, and then darted in front of the large bamboo, howling. The cats ran to and fro, back and forth, around and around the group of explorers.
The giant bamboo stalk, bombarded not only by camera flashes, but by speeding, screaming cats, feverishly swatted its branch at the group, trying to reach the cats, but always narrowly missing. While the travelers were reluctant to attack with the sheers, they had kept them in hand-- so they used the flat side as an improvised shield to defend the cats from harm.
Quickly taking advantage of the commotion, Aggie slipped close to the bamboo, and armed with the Gardening Gauntlets, grasped its stalk with a firm, glowing hold of magic, and pulled.
--And she pulled. She heaved and yanked with all her might, but even with a damaged stalk and the Gauntlets glowing with magic, the bamboo’s roots ran deep and thick, and with deep displeasure, they continued to shift and stir the earth beneath her feet.
“Aggie!” someone shouted, in between dodging the bamboo’s angry swats. “Aggie, look out!”
The Tea Witch leaped back just in time as the roiling roots and earth reached a peak--and a new bamboo shoot shot up from the ground just where she had been.
Moving across the churning dirt, the snake plant joined the chaos and reached forward with its long leaves, trying to break up the group, or trying to corner the two cats, or trying to swipe people away from the bamboo. Someone grabbed the Ethereal Earplugs and attempted to take it on with the Earplugs’ stopping magic--but the snake plant merely reached out one of its manifold leaves and slapped the Earplugs clean from their hands and into the crowd of puzzlers.
Meanwhile, intermittently visible behind the flurry of foliage and spells, the Lady remained oblivious to the leafy chaos taking place just behind her, and could now be heard singing quietly but definitely offkey. At one point, she picked up what appeared to be a long magic staff from beside her and air guitared it wildly, which resulted in a tiny, barely perceptible puff of cloud.
Drawn to all this concentrated chaos, a familiar aer spirit appeared with raucous laughter. It seemed Airin had stuck around the greenhouse to further pester the puzzlers, or at least Holiday. She found her pot taking on a garish plaid, and then saw a miniature dust storm pick up in the area around her.
Holiday took a moment to look down at her pot, and then face leafed. The flamingo groaned, “Yeah, because this is exactly what we needed right now.” Airin just laughed.
And behind them, the hulking silhouette of the kudzu golem loomed back into view, its viney leaves still swirling and seething about its form. Previous Status - Front: 1 Large Bamboo (A) (damaged) and 1 Snake Plant; Middle: 1 Kudzu Golem.

The leafy ivy-like plant abruptly parted, letting the Blue team through. Jess took the top hat with Taffy inside from Cass, and headed through the door. Mr. Snuggles made a beeline for the Lady of the House, but was stopped by plants, big, huge, plants looking for a battle. And a battle they were getting. The Lady of the House, Iris, was busy listening to her headphones, and couldn't hear as the combined efforts of all three teams fought against bamboo, snake plant, and kudzu. Jess hung back, seemingly not involving herself in the action. Instead, she knelt on the ground, and set the hat with her guinea pig on the ground. Taffy for her part hopped out. The two of them stared at each other, and then with an understanding chirp, Taffy started running. Low to the ground, a guinea pig could run quite fast on the dirt of the greenhouse. Jess stood up and silently rooted Taffy on as she quickly and silently made her way around the outskirts of the battle. A determined, small rodent might just be the thing to get past the plants and alert Iris to their presence. It was chaotic, but the mayhem only aided the guinea pig's stealth, making her very easy to miss. Things were looking good, but then the plants started moving. Another bamboo sprouted up. The kudzu golem moved forward. Taffy, trying to dodge them both, ran straight into the writhing snake plant. It happened so fast. The snake plant's leaves twisted this way and that. Taffy tried to back up, to avoid them, but one knocked into her, sending the guinea pig flying. "Taffy, no!" Jess shouted, dropping the top hat. She fruitlessly started running, reaching out, trying to catch Taffy. But she was much too far away. Just as Taffy was about to hit the ground, Jess dived for her. Jess reached out, hitting the ground. But her hands came up empty. It was too late. Jess propped herself up, tears already welling in her eyes. She looked at the spot where Taffy was headed. But the guinea pig wasn't there. Confused, Jess got on her knees, and scanned the ground nearby. No sign of her. Then Jess heard a loud, shrill, wonderful squeal coming from behind. Jess turned around, and there was Taffy, climbing out of the top hat Jess had dropped in her rush. Jess clambered up and ran to Taffy, picking her up. "Taffy, you're okay!" Taffy chittered and nuzzled Jess' hand. Jess hugged the guinea pig close. "Taffy I'm so glad you're okay." They shared a moment like this, relief washing over the pair. Then Jess looked from the top hat to the spot where Taffy should have landed, ten feet away. "Taffy... how did you get all the way over here anyway?" Taffy gave a sharp chirp, and you could almost see the smile in her eyes. Taffy tries to sneak past the battle to Iris, but it knocked back by the snake plant. Jess dives to try to catch the flying guinea pig, but misses. But Taffy doesn't hit the ground, instead appearing safely in the top hat ten feet away. Jess hugs Taffy, but then wonders how exactly Taffy magically appeared in the hat instead of hitting the ground.
Ooh, a mystery~

" Why is nothing working?!" Princess Sunshine protested, when her soothing spell somehow managed to make the bamboo shoot even angrier. What else was she supposed to do? She was running out of spells! Before she could come up with an answer, Aggie the Tea Witch tossed her a fairy cake. "This should make your attacks a little bit more magical," she said, before going after the bamboo shoot again. "Thanks!" she replied, taking a hefty bite out of the fairy cake. She could feel the magic coursing through her, filling her with renewed confidence. She couldn't give up yet; she had to keep trying! The bamboo shoot seemed to be pretty strong, so maybe she'd have better luck if she switched targets. Turning her attention to the kudzu golem, she raised her wand into the air yet again. " Solar Power ATTACK!" Princess Sunshine is annoyed that none of her attacks seem to be working! But then Aggie ( Celestial) gives her a fairy cake, which makes her feel better. She decides to try a different target, and Solar Power Attacks the kudzu golem instead.

The Uffnewt Weather Station television screen flickered and fizzled more than it should have as it suddenly cut away from its children’s documentary about the water cycle and to a frazzled man covered in lizards and coffee stains as he hurriedly tried to tidy the unruly mess of papers, red thread, and cotton balls that was still scattered about his broadcasting desk. Suddenly he noticed he was now live, and someone out of the frame motioned him to rush himself down into his chair, and he quickly pulled one of the lizards from a web of red thread and onto a more secure head location. “Good afternoon, Uff--... Good eveni--... ...HELLO, Uffnewt, this is Ray Nextpected, and we interrupt our current programming to bring you this emergency broadcast.
“A tornado seems to be preparing to touch down near the outskirts of town. It has been pulling local Err Bears into its--its-- This is NOT a joke forecast, Richards, stop snickering! I didn’t run all the way here to pull a-- I saw it myself, I tell you! Our weather may have been insane recently, but the Err Bearnado I predicated ha-- yes really, Richards-- come to pass. Please--”The broadcast flickered and fizzled again, and a grand, reverberating crack of thunder was heard from both sides of the screen. And indeed, the thunder did truly roar. “--Please take shelter if you have not already,” the broadcast continued, a note of pleading in the weatherman’s voice. “Try to hunker down on a lower floor in a central room, under stairs or in a sturdy bathtub, and if possible, avoid navigating away from any important pages on your online forums and social media, and make sure the claw-resistant setting is functioning on all your data servers. Remember, Uffnewt, please stay safe, and DO NOT FEED THE BEARS. Power outages are expect--”And with another multicolored flash as bright as a TV test pattern and another earsplitting roar of thunder, the broadcast broke off with a static pop!, and the gathering storm caused the network to lose connection. The lights went out simultaneously, and the lizards snuggled in for warmth as the station shook in the thunder’s wake. “We got the broadcast out, though, right? ...Where’d we leave that flashlight?” Ray grumbled. Ray reports an incoming Err Bearnado before the station loses power. Stay safe, folks!

Era cheered when the local photographer Evi added to the flashing, which Princess Sunshine put to good use to try to relax the plants! However, what was distressing is that it… seemed to have the opposite effect? Between that and the shears managing to damage the bamboo, the bamboo seemed to be going wild. Well… that may not have been so effective. Maybe they should put away the camera, or stick to recording video… Then Aggie cheered them on for the distractions. Era smiled; they supposed it was doing that! The rainbow lightning above wasn’t enough, after all! Though Era couldn’t help but feel through Hoo-long’s feet the reticence about the flashing. He really was good at hanging on, considering how he stuck with them even after they got knocked over earlier, decided not to get up, and now felt iffy about the flashes. “Hoo-long, it’s okay, I think I’m just gonna stay down here. It’ll be easier on me, and then you can do something. Don’t worry about me, worry about the plants! Maybe drop some stuff down on them from above! Or something! Aggie, it’s okay, you can give Hoo-long another command!” The battle continued on, and so did the plants’ retaliation, including…. another bamboo shoot! “Agh! Are they connected?” Era wondered aloud. “Nevermind, get that too!” Era couldn’t help but look over at times to Iris, the Lady of the House. Especially as she started singing and air-guitaring with uniquely toned spirit, emitting small puffs of clouds around her, obviously having the time of her life. She definitely knew how to have a good time with her studies! If only she’d turn around… How Era wished she could get there, to discuss the weather phenomenas and finally crack the case, to stop the plant attacks, and to really soak in Iris’ cool vibes! They could all be important! In the chaos, it seemed that Jess almost lost Taffy. For a moment, Era was silent, unsure of what to say, not feeling it was appropriate to even take a picture. But then, it turned out Taffy was okay! Unexpectedly so! Era breathed a sigh of relief, and turned their attention back to the battle. Best to get rid of these plants before something more serious happened, or they missed the big weather event of the century… They had to hurry. Era heard a laugh, and saw a dust storm kick up. They turned to see… “Oh, Airin! You came back! Just in time for all the fun but emergency chaos! This is kinda important, but maybe you can shoot that at the plants if you wanna help, I wouldn’t mind seeing that! I’ll be down here!” The kudzu golem took a step closer, and now shared space with the other big plants. Era stared. “...Look, behind you!” Yay, teamwork! Except for where it doesn’t work. Phooey. Still, they keep on taking pictures, but they slow a bit. They notice Hoo-long’s ( Celestial ) discomfort, and notes that since Era’s not gonna bother getting up, Hoo-long doesn’t really need to stay, and can fly off and help out. They still think the weather and Iris is really cool, especially with her latest stuff! All the more reason to get to her, aside from the multiple emergencies going on right now!! But then Era starts to be a little serious about the gravity of the situation a bit, when more plant enemies come, and Taffy’s not-death gives Era pause. They see Airin returns and has kicked up a dust storm. They suggest that Airin direct his pranks towards the plants if he want to help, and draws Airin’s attention to the kudzu golem.

Cassidy may be a healer, but she was also a squishy healer, with absolutely no fighting skills or offensive magic knowledge to speak of. But she had enough sense to stay well away from the front lines, knowing that her magic was best spent on other people who would get injured from the plant battle than on herself if she wound up getting in trouble. The rain beat against the roof of the greenhouse; the pounding noise made her glance up briefly before focusing on the matter at hand. "I'm a healer!" she cried over the cacophony, clutching her Sheer Shears. "If anyone needs my help - " When the snake plant reached forward, Cassidy tried to swat at it with the shears, emitting a small, shrill yelp and missing entirely and deciding that she really did belong with the rear guard by sprinting away and stuffing the shears into the same bag where she had put the fruit that had come from the tree in front of the kooky house. "Taffy, no!"She gasped when she heard Jess' voice and saw a flying Guinea Pig. Guinea Pigs were not supposed to fly. But before she could do anything, Jess dived for her but seemed to miss. Dread filled Cassidy's gut until she also spotted Taffy coming out of the fallen top hat, and she let out a breath. Did Guinea Pigs have the power to teleport, though? Cassidy pushed through the other explorers to where Jess and Taffy were, holding out a hand. "Let me see Taffy." Then she looked the girl over and placed a hand on Jess' shoulder, ushering her to a safer spot away from all the fighting. "Actually, let me see both of you." Raising her voice to be heard and drawing her pewter wand, she added, "Can someone cover all three of us while I treat them?" Cassidy is not made for all this fighting. Instead, after a failed attempt to swat at the snake plant with her Sheer Shears, she runs to the back lines where she feels she belongs, but immediately springs into action upon seeing Taffy get tossed about and Jess diving forward to grab the Guinea Pig ( June Scarlet). Time for healer action after seeing some flying Guinea Pigs and a poor girl going after said Guinea Pig. Also, support pls?

Airin nodded in Era’s direction and took their well-intentioned suggestion to heart-- by tossing some dust at the plants, and making sure it was also in the path of the folks fighting the plants. The fluffy black cats found their fur turning greyish brown, and everyone’s footwear looked like it had just come back from a long trek. A few bigger clods of dirt bumped into people’s legs and surging plants alike.
Amid the chaos as people shifted around--dodging, protecting, shouting, devising, photographing, tending wounds, and wiping dust from themselves--Princess Sunshine stepped forward once more, raising her wand with renewed ferocity. Her powered up Solar Power Attack hit the enormous kudzu golem right at the top of its massive shoulder form, and in immediate succession, the viney leaves there bleached from the sun attack’s power, then browned, crumpled, and dropped to the dusty greenhouse floor, leaving a gaping hole at the top of the kudzu mass, as if it had been gouged by a colossal flamethrower.
Before much celebration could be done, however, the kudzu gradually pulled more leaves up from its rooted legs, and its entire lumbering mass reformed itself, its arms and legs swallowed by the swirl of leaves and vines before re-emerging just as large and just as intimidating as before. The kudzu golem took another step forward, its lower vines beginning to lap at the heels of the people at the front of the group.
Mayhem may have reigned behind her, but she was still within range, and especially after nearly being attacked by the new bamboo shoot, Aggie needed little prompting. She hurried back forward, pulled her sleeves up once more, and hauled the intruding bamboo shoot from the ground with a satisfying snapping sound.
Even as the shoot testily rolled away like the others, the large bamboo swung around, momentarily forgetting its anger at the screaming cats and the flashing explorers entirely, and it directed its sole attention to where the shoot had been pulled. It hunched and drew back its long branch to retaliate at the group, and with no time to ask, one of the explorers swiftly grabbed the Sheer Shears back out from Cassidy’s bag, and lunged forward with them through the low-lying kudzu toward the towering bamboo stalk.
They were poised and ready as the bamboo swept its branch forward to attack--and in the same instant, the wielder of the Shears seized the bamboo stalk between their blades just at its damaged spot. This time the Shears finished cutting all the way through, and with a great, resounding series of crashes, the bamboo stalk broke through the tree canopy overhead, and collapsed to the ground at last. It was cushioned and briefly overtaken by the dust and low-lying kudzu before it reluctantly rolled away as well, following the bamboo shoots and tripping up as many people as it could as it went.
Nearly tripped by the bamboo, and again by something at their feet, someone picked up the Ethereal Earplugs and chucked them in frustration back to the base of the snake plant with all their might. They bounced off, not having anywhere to attach, and having no effect but to further annoy the plant, which volleyed them back to the tosser in a single swipe. As swiftly as the bamboo had finally been pacified, the snake plant was proving more stubborn. Previous Status - Front: 1 Large Bamboo (A) (damaged), 1 Snake Plant, 1 Bamboo Shoot (D), and 1 Kudzu Golem.
Turn 4 - Use Ethereal Earplugs (physical) on Snake Plant Use Sheer Shears (physical) on Large Bamboo (A) Use Gardening Gauntlets (physical) on Bamboo Shoot (D)
Results - The Earplugs’ physical ability has no effect on the Snake Plant. The Shears attack the Large Bamboo (A) and further damage it, this time cutting it all the way through! Rose nearly tripped over Mister Snuggles as he hid behind them. Typical cat thing. "No Mister Snuggles, this is no time for scritches! Excellent timing for being in the way, though. I'm sure felines all over the universe are very proud of your expert catting." They ducked just in time to avoid the bamboo's swipe. "Hey, that was dangerous!" Oh no, Era had been catapulted out of the parka! Rose dropped to their knees next to the weather enthusiast, checking for scrapes or boo-boos and fumbling for bandages in their dungaree pockets. Era seemed both unhurt and pleased with their bamboo-appointed horizontal relocation, though. Rose was about to ask whether the scientist needed anything when their camera burst into flashing lights and the group's photographer joined in and Princess Sunshine continued her thing too. Rose covered their eyes with a whimper. It was a bit much. Squinting at the scuffle between their fingers, Rose began to wonder. "Hey? Are we just going to fight a gang of plants with a pair of gloves, a pair of shears, and a pair of earplugs?" They paused, looking around for any confirmation, similar disbelief, or more appropriate tools choosing this moment to sprout from the ground. "Could we maybe get a hoe? Or at least a trowel? No? Is it because we're only allowed to use things that come in pairs?" Lost in their musings, they glanced at the ceiling that had so fascinated Era. An Err Bear stared back, sprawled flat against the glass. Further above, another flapped its paws elegantly as it rode the wind across the greenhouse, while a third feigned swimming through the buffeting gusts. It was very difficult to focus on any single point of this fray. Rose got up and zigzagged absently among the greenhouse explorers. They gave thumbs-up to every blob in their vision, using their borrowed parka as a makeshift shield against the swatting bamboo, who would surely be afraid of such a swelteringly hot garment. "You're doing great, and you're doing great - no, not you, plant, you're doing terrible - you're doing just lovely, - you get off me, you big blade of grass! - you keep it up... Aggie, look out!" Not only did the bamboo refuse to be gardened by a more-than-qualified tea witch, but its snake plant crony even stooped to attacking an innocent guinea pig. Rose puffed out their chest. "I say! You lot are the rudest plants I've ever met!" Rose planted themself across from the snake plant, fists on their hips, raised their arms and began to wiggle menacingly, mimicking its unfurling leaves. "Can someone cover all three of us while I treat them?" asked their very magical healer, a proper wand in hand. "I've got you!" said Rose, stepping in front of Cass and Jess. No sooner had they taken position than they heard a satisfying snap from Aggie's vicinity, and an alarming creak. The thin shadow of the bamboo stalk widened above their heads. Rose plucked the shears out of Cassidy's bag. They dropped into a loose crouch and bounded forth, head low, eyes not leaving the charging bamboo stalk. It came within range. They lunged and snapped the jaws of the shears. The injured part of the stalk was caught. Rose kept crunching with all their strength, holding steady while the weight of the toppling bamboo jostled them. They only let go when the last segment has dropped. They tripped over the rolling stalk, dropped the shears and fell. "I'm okay," they whined in Cass's direction, so that the healer knew not to check on them. "Had to borrow those shears, sorry!" Starting from a few narratorposts back, Rose praised Mister Snuggles' ability to be in the way, checked that Era was okay on the ground, was quite confused in all the flashing, wondered aloud about the adequacy of the group's gardening weapontools, saw Err Bears, generally cheered on everyone, warned Aggie against a bamboo swatting, was very offend at the pants, uh, I mean plants, good thing we're not fighting three giant pairs of pants, went to protecc Cass and Jess, but ended up doing an attac with the shears. From his perch, H-oolong looked down at Era with a look of deep irritation. He did not need Aggie to give him orders. He could do it just fine himself, thank you very much. Unlike his cat sister, he was an intelligent and wise owl. If they no longer needed him, well, he was free to work as he pleased. He took off and flew around the battlefield, waiting for his opportunity. Only thanks to Rose's warning did Aggie avoid being badly hurt by the bamboo. She gasped, taking in the sharp end of the new bamboo shoot which had almost impaled her. For a second she stood paralyzed. It was not until she felt the sweat tickling her brow that she remembered there was still a task at hand. Taking off her hat, she wiped her brow, exhaling. "Thank you, Rose, darling!" she called, giving them a thumbs up. "Keep watching my back, my dear. We'll get them yet." At this point, her eyes were drawn to the lady of the house picking up a wand and conjuring what seemed to be a storm. Above them, the sky suddenly became dark as stewed tea. She glanced up at the greenhouse roof just in time to see an Err Bear sail by and splat down onto the glass. It gave a comical look before it slid off in a manner that reminded Aggie of H-oolong when he forgot about the existence of large glass windows. It certainly bore that surprised, annoyed and embarassed look. "This...this really has to stop," she remarked. Looking up at the golem, the bamboo and its new offspring, she cracked her knuckles. "I am very sorry but we do need to speak with your lady." With Princess Sunshine attacking, Era and Airin throwing dirt to distract the plants (Aggie did have to wonder if it would affect their way of navigating, given they did not have eyes, but throwing dirt would be a distraction no matter what), she felt ready to tackle the bamboo again. Facing the small bamboo, she gripped it tightly and pulled with all her might. Unlike its larger cousin, its roots were not as deeply ingrained and it came out. "H-oolong, catch!" Aggie threw it up and her owl familiar caught it in his claws. He carried it to the top of the dome and threw it, attempting to hit the lady. His aim was, however, thrown off a strike of lightning and another err-bear landing on the roof with a cry of what sounded like "oh no, not again". The bamboo clattered down beside the lady, not quite striking her and getting her attention. "Oh, drat. It's alright. The important thing the bamboo is gone!" Aggie cried. She looked back as she heard Cassidy cry out but Rose, sweet dependable Rose, was there for her. "Thank you, Rose, darling! Don't you worry, you focus on helping them and watching our backs. We've got this, for now. Though if things don't keep going so well, I may need your help, Cassidy," she took a deep breath and faced the kudzu golem. "Ooh, I do have to get a cutting of you for arrowroot tea. Of course, I am going to keep you suspended in a planter five feet in the air." Aggie drew out some matcha powder, whisking it in a small cup before chugging it in one. She felt the speed, energy and vitality of the spell spread through her almost immediately. The gauntlets gleamed too, sensing the magical power of their wielder. "I'm going in, cover for me! This may get messy!" she shouted towards the others and rushed towards the kudzu golem. Purr-eh, once she had gotten some of the dust from her fur, did the same, doing her best to ignore the literal rain of bears. H-oolong is offended that he needs to be given orders, Era( Gelquie) and takes off on his own, circling above. Aggie, meanwhile, is saved from gruesome injury by Rose( Liou) and their timely warning. Seeing the storm, she knows they really need to get to the lady and gets her revenge by pulling up the bamboo. H-oolong grabs the bamboo and yeets it to the lady. His attempt fails but there was an attempt. Aggie prepares to take on the Kudzu Golem. She tells Cassidy(@amataeurwriter) that she may need some help. Then asks the others ( June Scarlet, PFA) for cover and, after a drink of matcha tea, prepares to face the kudzu. Purr-eh is also there, despite her fur getting all mucked up.

They were left with two furious and formidable plants between the adventurers and an oblivious Lady of the House.
One of them saw that Rose had been felled by the defeated bamboo, leaving the Sheer Shears strewn beside them. Despite the pigtailed individual claiming to be okay, they had been knocked over by a giant, spiteful stalk of bamboo. And as Rose had protected others, the adventurer retrieved the Sheers without hesitation and jumped to their defense as the snake plant now began to lob chunks of dirt into the crowd of explorers.
The Shears’ magical blast of slicing wind struck the snake plant with all the force of the gales outside that had hurled flailing Err Bears clear over the glass ceiling. The snake plant’s multitude of fanned out leaves involuntarily caught the wind altogether too well, and the magical gale took full advantage, pummelling and pushing against the snake plant’s massive leaves until the entire plant began to be forced backwards. It whipped about wildly, struggling in vain to reach forward to smack the Shears from the assailant’s hands just as it had done with the Earplugs before. But the wind drove the plant farther and farther back, back along the path its roots had forged in order to come to the fore.
And then, at last, the Shears’ magical wind abated, and the snake plant was almost halfway across the room. The wielder of the Shears took great gulpfuls of air, fiercely prepared to fight more, but also deeply grateful that that gambit had even worked. They watched the snake plant from this distance, waiting to see if it would return to fight with even more fury and ferocity. For its part, the snake plant thrashed around angrily, but then finally slowed, and at length curled many of its leaves against the base of its stem (as if contemplating the Shears ahead). And then it finally bowed its leaves in acquiescence to the group of explorers. They had fought it well enough, with enough tenacity, it seemed, that it was satisfied to call them its victors.
The Kudzu was now the only one standing, and determined to use the full battleground to be as big of an impediment as possible. Its vines immediately filled the space left behind by both the bamboo and the snake plant, swirling into pillars and barriers to block the way forward. Even when its main golem form was confronted with the Ethereal Earplugs’ powers of “eugh, stop it,” it only gave it momentary pauses. The kudzu continued to march forward, leaves overtaking the greenhouse floor, overtaking over the bamboo roots, nearly overtaking the smaller creatures like the cat who now charged at it. The destabilizing effects of Gardening Gauntlets sparking magic from Aggie’s hands did cause part of it to flop over, but only briefly as it just kept rolling forward as a verdant sphere of menace. Those nearby got faces full of leaves, and it came quite close to engulfing them entirely, as even nonmagical kudzu is eager to do. Only through quick reactions and a bit of gymnastics could they escape. The kudzu in turn dodged and shapeshifted around their erratic punches and swats as it spread forward, almost cornering the explorers by the doors from which they had entered.
“Ha! Never back a squad of puzzlers against a wall!” someone shouted defiantly, even as their ankles were covered in vines. “We’ve deciphered codes, unscrambled messes, dismantled lies, uncovered flowers, cracked puzzles, broken glamours, and put up with crazy biomes! We came together over a jigsaw, but we’re finished putting all this together! Also, we kudzu without your nasty attitude!” Previous Status - Front: 1 Snake Plant and 1 Kudzu Golem.
Turn 5 - Use Ethereal Earplugs (magical) on Kudzu Golem Use Sheer Shears (magical) on Snake Plant Use Gardening Gauntlets (magical) on Kudzu Golem
Results - The Earplugs’ magical ability has no effect on the Kudzu Golem. The Shears’ magical attack blows the Snake Plant so far back that it acquiesces to your resolve and power. Snake Plant has been defeated! The Gauntlets’ magical ability has no effect on the Kudzu Golem.
Current Status - Front: 1 Kudzu Golem.

As Jess and Taffy stood there, Cass went into full healer mode. Cassidy rushed over and ushered them away from the battle, checking on Taffy, but also Jess for some reason. "No, I'm fine, check on Taffy," said Jess, holding her guinea pig out. But as the healer quickly realized, Taffy was completely unharmed. Didn't even seem rattled by the event. Jess meanwhile had a few scrapes from when she hit the ground in her effort to catch the flying guinea pig. Jess tucked Taffy into the top hat, then set the top hat on her head, showing no sign of the guinea pig at all. "She'll be safer that way." It took a bit of convincing, but Jess allowed Cass to heal her scrapes. "It's really not a big deal, though, they'll heal up in no time." As the healing took place, Jess pondered, "How did Taffy end up safe in the top hat anyway? You don't think... maybe it was magic?" Taffy is fine, but Jess is healed by Cass Kat (whom I gave vague responses in the interest of time). Jess wonders if it was magic that safely landed Taffy in the top hat. (Spoilers: it was.)
