How often do they update the Story Telling competition?

Last week I tried participating but it seemed like it was updated inconsistently (March 19th, 23rd, 25th, 30th). I decided to give up since I would participate on March 19, 20th, 21st, 22nd came and it still wouldn't update.

However, the one time I don't participate, it's been updated the last four consecutive days. 

Does anyone know the trend of when it's suppose to be updated or is it random? I noticed the story before ran from March 02 - March 17 (almost two weeks).

That is... a good question. Since the contest has been "restarted" about a month and a half ago ("Week" 830), it seems to be either pretty sporadic or there is loosely one update per day -- I find that to be in the evening, after 4-ish PM NST.

And, from Editorial 894:

Since we just started the Storytelling Competition up again, we have understandably not been receiving many entires. We have been trying to end the most recent story but have not received any entries to finish it the past few days. So please submit! We would love to hear from you.

So it could be partly that it updates once there are enough (quality) submissions from which the judge can choose.

I'm hoping it will eventually get back up to 2 entries a day, one posted in the morning and another in the evening -- I don't think that will happen anytime soon, but I can hope!
