Yeah I ended up buying the prizes that I've been trying for, since I figure why not get them while they'll probably be at their lowest price (at least for the books and stamp). And then, after buying the stamp, guess what I got after foolishly choosing the Charming Negg again? xD Welp, at least now I have a spare to hoard hold onto in case it becomes more valuable once the event ends. Kat If you need an Ona, I have two extra! Thanks, Twillie! Onas are cute in general, I'd like one if you can spare it. Are you looking for any prizes in particular? I'll see what else I have lying around...

Kat Yeah, I can gift it your way! At this point, I don't have any specific prizes I'm looking for! If anything, maybe the background, but it sounds like everyone else is having a hard time getting that one as well xD Thank you, though!

Isn't it always the case that the best NC item is always the bonus one?

So a sudden twist in the story. The Negg-napper...
Alright, not going to complain just yet, but TNT, you're going to HAVE TO explain where the Neggnapper came from.
Don't know if you read up on the Clockwork Negg event, but the Neggbreaker was an ancient (seemingly unintelligent) beast sealed away for hundreds of years. So, if you're going to introduce a "big brother" to the Neggbreaker you're going to need to answer:
1. Where did he come from? Was he also sealed within the Clockwork Negg? As I said the Neggbreaker was sealed for hundred of years so either these monster Hasee species can live that long or he too was sealed with his brother.
2. If he wasn't sealed away, where has he been for all these years? Why hadn't he helped his brother get out?
3. If he was, why didn't he appear alongside the Neggbreaker when we released him? Did he not care to help his brother?
4. Why is he seemingly more intelligent than his little brother? OR why is the Neggbreaker a hulking monster if the big brother is the "norm"?
Now it's a cute idea. Like, in my mind, how I would have it work is that the Clockwork Negg was sort of like Pandora's Box where the Neggbreaker was just one Negg-related beast and there's a whole batch of them. This time its the Neggnapper which steal Neggs, but they could also have a Negg-eater, Negg... um... painter? Negg... well you get the point.

Looks like there's a short Neopedia article on that matter. Oh right, the final prizes If you found the Neggs on the day of release, you'll get the five Neggs featured in this year's festival, in addition to the Negg-napper Plushie, the Negg Gazer Charm and the Kari Inspired Dress. The Dress is also a day of release prize, by the looks of it.

Even if they never gave me the Illusory Negg or the other Negg that you could trade with the Neggery. Rats. Guess it's time for us to open our prize stashes and see if we can swap duplicate prizes around.

Me: has actually been nice and active on Neopets recently, all enthusiastic about my current goals, did the negg hunt every day, nice long slew of gold checkmarks.
Also me: somehow completely missed the very last day.
agharghaghagh :'D HOW? Not that it really matters, none of the final prizes do much for me; I'm usually after stamps and books and backgrounds, and got everything I wanted from this year's neggs themselves. Still, I might need to start setting myself daily reminders for stuff like this, because clearly I'm getting too old.

So here's my prize final haul: Grand Marbled Armour (1x) Floral Nature Charm (2x) Exquisite Book of Nature (1x) Mages Satchel (1x) Stamp of Spring Charm (5x) Charming Comb (5x) I also got all gold so got all the final prizes (Kari's dress, Negg-gazer Charm, Neggnapper plush, set of Neggs). If you want any of the day-to-day prizes just ask, heck I'll just give it to you no strings attached. QUICK FINAL THOUGHTS:While it was the same setup as last year, I'll give TNTJS some small credit for trying to add a story/mystery to keep us engaged. Sadly it ended no differently than past years despite it seeming maybe we'd have a new Battledome challenger, though I guess they sort of established the Neggnapper wasn't really the brawling type.
On that note I guess I'll also give them some credit on the twist ending. While at first I was skeptical, we had a discussion on the Neobaords and it was actually brought up the Neggbreaker wasn't said to have come out of the Clockwork Negg. It just seemed like that, but the text only said the Neggbreaker suddenly appeared after the Clockwork Negg was opened and after it was defeated it ran back into the cave where once it came. So that seemed to suggest the Neggbreaker was just a different entity who may have been looking for the Clockwork Negg or the power that it has? Course seems odd the Clockwork Negg just so happened to have a weapon specially designed to take out the Neggbreaker in one hit (and during this event the Neggnapper revealed to have broken). Gives me an idea for a Neopian Times article, a series I haven't done for a while.
I do like the design of the Neggnapper, especially that its a Purple Hasee to match the Neggbreaker being the Orange Hasee; monstrous Jimmi and Woogy. I like he's pretty much the polar opposite of the Neggbreaker: slender not muscular, stealthy not loud, patient not rash, and intellectual not bestial. The drawing has a nice bit of creep factor to it with him having long arms, visible rib lines, yet he does have strength of his own as he's hauling a giant bag of Plastic Neggs. While we didn't battle him this year maybe next, now that they established the character, we could have a more battle-oriented event next time. We got the Neggbreaker and Neggnapper, who's to say there aren't other monster Hasee with their own version of Negg hatred? Or at the very least we can battle 'Breaker and 'Napper by themselves then have a special battle where they team up as one opponent.
Got really nothing to say about the prizes this year (at least not without going through each one and giving it a sentence or two). Surprised the final collectible charm wasn't the gold item, though even if it's not it's still selling more for Kari's dress, lol (that said I do like Kari dress as a prize, always like clothing based on established Neopian characters). I also like we got a set of the Neggs this year, I always liked how the Neggs we collected looked and wish they were released as items. Though if they wanted to take inspirations from past Festival of Neggs I wish they also brought back the Plastic Neggs of 2012-2014. Give us some extra Negg hunting a a small bonus prize to boot.
Overall a year that showed promise even if it didn't quite deliver, maybe next year (once the site it converted to HTML5) we could get something just a little bit more?

No, the Neggbreaker was certainly tied to the opening of the Negg. The pages specifically said he woke when the Negg opened. You can argue that maybe he was magically hibernating in the cave until the Negg opened -- but in that case, it would make absolutely no sense for Rutu to hide the Negg right next to him or to stay there for the remainder of her life without moving it. The only plausible thing is if he was inside the Negg. Otherwise the Secret Negg Society were idiots, which given the lengths they went to, they were certainly not.

The only plausible thing is if he was inside the Negg. Otherwise the Secret Negg Society were idiots, which given the lengths they went to, they were certainly not. I'm looking through TheDailyNeopets recount of the event which has screenshot and text quotes and it technically doesn't say the Neggbreaker came out of the Clockwork Negg. Plus when it was defeated it ran back into the cave from whence it came. Of course, that could also just be the point-of-view of the adventurer who was temporarily blinded by the dark matter smoke. Also something odd about the remains of Rutu: they look perfectly intact and similar to what she wore when she went on her journey. She's also sitting upright and she has a staff of some sort in her hands. It's as if she suddenly died upon reaching her destination. Or, maybe she was killed? Maybe upon reaching the cave she got attacked by the Neggbreaker, it delivered a fatal blow (since her clothes are intact maybe just threw her hard against a wall), and she then did something to either suck it into the Clockwork Negg or caused it to go into a deep sleep. Then she crawled back to where the Clockwork Negg was placed and sat up beside it, dying having protected it as she was sent to do. But eitherway, it's still hard to wedge in the Neggbreaker having a brother.
