Re: Killix - I know that motivation feeling so well. Dealing with that and my executive dysfunction is like, half of my work. And it's been stressing me a lot lately; I recently had to check myself because I realized that I was worrying myself about how much I could be doing and trying to put too much on my plate, even when I was actively in the middle of a task.
I managed to make some lee-way yesterday. I took advice from my advisor for how to approach something, and just getting started on that helped pave the way for everything else. Helps to see my big tasks as a web than a big stack; means I can just ride it from string to string where I need to, and it'll make sense.
...Sorry, I'm rambling about myself in case something clicks. Yay for you getting the important things done today. ^^ Take it easy indeed.

I can relate. :'D
Sometimes I have a really hard time just starting something, even if it's a task I want to do. This is how things tend to begin to pile up on me. Then I look at the pile and start feeling overwhelmed and have trouble starting anything because I get caught up in worrying about how much stuff I have to do. It's a situation in the shape of one of those ouroboros snakes. X'D
Yes, I did all of my tasks! I'm going to head off to Cafeteria and have a hot chocolate.

Yuuup, that describes so much of my life. A lot of it can tend to boil down to my mental state, which is, uh. *Waves at my entire mostly ramble/rant-pad of a diary.* xD
And then it's like, "okay, but I can pick one and at least do that," and then all the other tasks go "what, and I'M not important??! >O ". They're very sensitive that way. (And then I get overwhelmed and none of them get done. \ o / )
I still have some tasks left; I have several tasks in Thesis to do. I'll keep the fact that you're in Cafeteria in mind, though............ ^^

Gotta love when they fight for your attention in your brain. "I'm more important! You should start me!", "No!! I take longer to do, you need to start me first!!", "I'M DUE IN A WEEK!!!!!"
Ah yes, Thesis is one of those Long Tasks, right? I wish you much luck in your swift completion of those tasks!
... I think I'll enjoy my hot chocolate over by the emergency button.

Absolutely. ='D Even better, when one task is all "I'm due in two hours!", but one task goes "hey, I'm due weeks from now but I'm more fun, aren't I? ;D ". Stupid sexy nothing-tasks!
I create a to-do list to keep track of them all, but it only goes so far. I sort of need a system for getting things done, and reminding myself to just pick one, dangit. Ride the web if I have to, if they connect.
Indeed it is! And it's multi-part, so all the running around the ship. Thank you very much! I will need it; I keep having to run from it when someone starts acting suspiciously, which means starting over, ugh.
A wise choice! I sure hope nothing else happens in the cafeteria that's just out of your line of sight! That would be very..... inconvenient.

Ugh, tell me about it! Gotta watch out for those. Don't want to get seduced into choosing all of those least important easy nothing-tasks so that at the end of the day when you're most tired, you're left with a list of nothing but critical simon sez, diagnostics, and dumb weather node maze puzzles.
I certainly hope so! I would hate for my cozy hot chocolate moment to be interrupted.
It will be inconvenient for you, too, if I have to report anything amiss! You'll be just about to finish penning one of those Thesis tasks and then... surprise meeting called! (and we all know that it is imperative that one literally immediately drop everything to go attend an emergency meeting as soon as it is called!)

Ugh, those are the worst. D= Gotta remind myself that I can do them while I'm by myself and no one is around and nothing's likely gonna happen for a while, and that I shouldn't not do them just because they're long and take up my entire screen.
Of course, that would be terrible! You'd have to throw out your hot chocolate if any reports or meetings were to happen!
And yesss, that happens all the time! And it'd be done if I were just given one more half a second, but nooooo! "Someone just died, you have to come right away." Some of us have jobs to do!
((There were two games where I just completely ignored it*, but all functions on the ship stopped too, so I was interrupted anyway. Boo. =<
*As in it either bugged or there was a hack going on that kept me from going to the meeting.))

Random Question. What do the stars under/next to your username mean? I think it has something to do with rank, as people with more posts tend to have more stars, people with a higher NT rank tend to have more stars, Admins have exactly five stars, and so on. But I don't know exactly how they work, and I've been curious about it.

But I don't know exactly how they work, and I've been curious about it. Y'know, I remember asking this same question as a mod a long time ago (I think in a mod chat), but I forget where to find it right now, and even then I don't remember if there was a clear answer xD I don't think the stars have much meaning on their own, but rather they're another way to distinguish ranks from each other with the differing colors and amount of stars (some mod ranks also had/have(?) icons besides stars, like buckets and mops, but this might depend on the skin you're using). I could be wrong about that though, but that's what I vaguely remember at least xD

The stars are based on post count, except mods and admins who have the fixed five stars.
Certain ranks seem to give you big starnumbers too, I know Times Legend does and I assume the equivalent ranks? Not 100% on this.
EDIT: comparing poster ranks and star numbers on this thread, I'm second guessing myself. Maybe it is just based on rank here. xD I just know on the forum I used to admin, it was post count, but also that forum just had the standard ranks that change automatically as your post count does, like 'frequent commenter' etc here.

It's based on rank. Different ranks have different star sizes, colours and amounts. Here's the basic posting ranks (as seen in the settings page) for example:

Ah yeah, this looks familiar! It's been a while since the other forum I mentioned closed, so things are a bit fuzzy. xD Thanks Killix!

Yeah, I always thought it just denoted your rank, nothing more. I was in other forums in the past and they were kinda like that, too.
Nice to know I "May Need an Intervention".
Also can confirm that as Times Demigod one star fell off the star rank row and is now sitting by its lonesome at the bottom. Poor star. It did nothing wrong.

Hmmm, I'm having trouble deciding who to use for my Spirit Weeks original character. Dunno if I should go with someone I've talked about before or someone completely new to others, someone who I've written for or whose story is still in prewriting *thinks*

Twillie - Yeah, I'm having a similar conundrum. Though at some point I'll probably just pick one so I have it done with while I focus on other things. I think there's good argument for all of those. Though I think someone you've at least talked about and shown art of before may be good, as it may give people interaction ideas. I can see it the other way, though, especially if you initiate more interaction, which can help others see more of your character, though it would require more proactivity on your part. Up to you, ultimately; I'll support all those options.
