INTRODUCTION:
For the past few years TNT had been running a week long competition on NThe Official Neopet's Twitter where for the first four days (increased to five in 2020) they tell Neopet players (with a Twitter account) to create their own item/character/locations/etc. to showoff their creativity (whether from drawing or writing) and maybe win a few prize codes!

Though I missed the first year (2018), last year I decided to create this thread where we could share and chat about the entries we liked. This Introduction section I'm editing in will be used to archive the links where you can see all past entries (if they aren't deleted) via using the secondary hashtags:

Neotober!

INTRODCUTION:
Starting in 2020 and similar to NeoCreation Week, Neotober is Neopet's contribution to Drawtober, a social media event during October which calls on creative types to make something (be it a drawing, sculpture, poem, etc.) to several day-long prompts, usually relating to October and Halloween.

We're technically 3 Days in but for right now I'm just going to focus on Day 1's theme: New Paint Brush (Colour)!


Already a pretty interesting theme to start out on, considering every few years or so they need to create some new Colours as the Aisha keeps running out of options. Makes me curious if TNT are scouting out for ideas, not sure what the rules of idea ownership are for this contest (at the very least it's illegal to directly lift someone's art), but whether they are or they aren't taking notes doesn't matter at the moment. For right now let's just see what other users have come up with.

Now this is how I'm going to do my posts. I'm going to mention the PB idea, give a link to all the Twitter people that had that idea, and then a link to the image they made. Unfortunately if I post all the images this post would be HUGE. The link to the PB hashtag is here however it looks like some entries didn't make it on it for some reason so if I mention one that isn't on there it's because I got it off Neopet's main twitter.

Day 2's Theme: Create Your Own Faerie


Now obviously this one comes with a lot of OCs (do not steal) so I'm going to be a bit more strict on which one I include (generall I'm looking for a Faerie who has a theme or role). That said plenty of them have nice art so for those I like but can't fit into a category I'll include at the end. Anyway I'm super stoked to see all these entries! Already saw the Dr. Sloth omelette, it's amaaaazing. And we have mummified jelly (do we? I vaguely remember a mummified something) so it makes sense to have a corresponding omelette.

Yes, there is a Mummified Jelly.

A few of the Omelettes they had pretty much were expies of some Giant Jelly Omelettes. I recall seeing a Poisonous (with the same color scheme), Dung (mentioned), Rainbow (mentioned), Snot, Water (mentioned), and Glowing (it and a few of the others I mentioned even said there was a Jelly version so why not an Omelette version). Thinking about is Smooshed Omelette is probably a reference to the Squashed Jelly.

Yesterday's topic was a really interesting one: create your own #MyNeoHero!

This one started out slow though probably because takes a bit more to draw a full fledged character than it is to draw an Omelette. But after a few hours we got some ones I think are worth looking at. Just going to stick a few that stand out to me, there's of course a few ones here and there meant to be comedic (and I may include a few I like) but overall I think I'm going to be a bit more strict on this one as I want to comment a bit on each.

• Kind Kau Carer (Hey, not all heroes need to be strapping youths ready to share fisticuffs. Might be because I'm a Meridell supporter and we have a granny on our Yooyuball team, but I like the idea of a granny superhero who helps the younger heroes by baking them fresh treats that heals and energizes them. I can just imagine before all the heroes go off on patrol she has packed each of them a brown paper lunch bag with each of their names on them)
• The Tinkerer (A sort of MacGyver character that knows how everything works so can make almost anything with raw materials around them. Thinking about it we don't really see a lot of those characters, usually such characters already has a gadget on them or they have a matter creating/transmutating power, so it's a pretty unique character-type)
• Queen Nera (Not really much on her aside she's Queen of Altador (does not mention whether she has a relation to King Altador) and fought with the Darkest Faerie. I like the design for a royalty character, though not sure about a hero character, at least without knowing more)
• Frank, the Food Club Friend (He may not be the hero we deserve, but is definitely the hero we want. Why yes, I would like an automatic Food Club better on the site that'll pick the best possible bets for days I can't think of some of my own)
• Sully/Slorg Boy (I can see him being the Squirrel Girl of Neopets. Villains underestimate him at their own ego, but just before they claim victory they discover their plans tripped up by the gooey, sticky slime of Slorg Boy's Slorg friends!)
• Glitter Twinkle (There was another magical girl hero I skipped over cause the poster didn't write up anything about them, but this one did so I'm including them. Going to guess Sailor Moon-based by the description and clothing. Cute, though disappointing they forget the Usul's tail in her magical girl form)
• Little Bell (Going by the name you'd think a Tinklebell-like character but is more like the Lorax if it was a D&D Druid. A fallen tree turned into an Xweetok that can transform itself into other creatures. And it's a pretty nice design)
• Sea Sentinel (Now this is what I imagine everyone was expecting! A Maraquan Hissi that finds an ancient & powerful Utilifish and protects the seas using its power. Sort of Aquaman meets Blue Beetle. The artwork is nice, though is the "Armorfish" Utilifish the helmet, neck guard, and gauntlet? Think they could have made a clearer picture is all I'm saying)
• Red Cutter (Hey, sometimes to be a hero you just need a sword... with the supernatural ability to cut through anything (and no doubt throughout his comic book series he often times encounters exceptions to the rule cause otherwise conflicts would kind of end too quickly). Just a quick note of the design, I like the choice of the Neopet (in this case a Xweetok) being White while their clothing is what red, really draws the eyes to the red parts which are the superhero parts meanwhile not completely overshadowing the Neopets underneath the red thus having them standout in their own way)
• Xuana Zelea, the Spirit Seeker (A psychic spirit hunter which dual wields blades of lightning, you know that old trope. Poster took some inspiration from Ahsoka Tano and I can see it in places (duel wielding, "psychic/force" powers) though definitely took their own creative spin on things after that, lol)
  
• P.B. & Jelly, Space-Time Travelling Scientists (A rather nicely done & striking drawing of a Split colored, two-headed Wocky, don't see that everyday. The name and rough title description is the only thing the poster gave us and I kind of have more questions like why does she have two heads, but sometimes the toast lands PBJ side down and you just got to accept it and move on)
• Nube, the Cloudy Hero (She's a Cloud Jubjub riding on a Flying Nimbus, it's just too funny not to include, lol! Unless affecting the weather also comes with controlling the clouds I'm not quite sure how effective cloud control powers are)
• The Defenders of the Realm (So a bit of a different take on "hero", we essentially have a Dungeon & Dragon quest party (or NeoQuest if you prefer something more Neopets)! Tourin (Fighter & Mote Whisperer), Lilly (Alchemist), Kai (Monk), Rose (Sorcerer), and Jabari (Thief). I really like the character designs here even if they're more fantasy hero than superhero. May their dice rolls be nat 20s and their opponent's be crit 1s)
• Usuki Girl (Only here cause I like the art. I guess a Santa Claus-figure is a hero in another sense of the word. At first I thought it was another Usul Magical Girl using the Magical Hair Usuki Doll as a base (was going to comment for Glitter Twinkle could have used the hair for the magical girl form but then again its their creation so didn't want to get too critical on their interpretation of their own character))
• Grace, the Cake Bringer (On a similar note, have some cake! Tooth Faerie gonna be busy...)
• Chiabane (Hm, not sure naming a hero "bane" is the best of choice, lol. Anti-heroes are still heroes and this one has plenty going for him to have a Dark Horse Comics series about him)
• Isidella (Remember, always thank the healer even if you have to wait till after the battle to do it (otherwise they may not make your healing a high priority... well, alright, they would, but it's still a nice thing to do)! Not really much about them but I like the sort of psychedelic design of the character)
• Miss Valentine (Cranky Halloween Acara by day, superhero spreading love and positivity by night. Mainly here because I like the design)
• Isalletha Fenn (Another concept I like. We have a villain who goes around bottling Faeries, why not have a hero who goes around rescuing bottled Faeries!)
  
• Maxus, "just" a mailman (Another fun idea, an Alian Aisha pretending to be an average Neopian with an average job... until he must defend it. Remember everyone, support the mail service!)
• Vandagyre Knight (Because we need at least one Batman knockoff, and before you complain I say that the creator essentially said the same thing so I'm in the clear!)
• Super Rock (It's a superhero Pet Rock. What, you were expecting me to say more? It's a superhero Pet Rock, what else more is there to say? SUPER ROCK!)
• Esdras (A Darigan who's mission is to protect Meridell, how counterculture. I guess he could be the "Yuri" to Jeran's "Flynn", that's a reference for you Tales of Vesperia fans out there )
• Falconer (Continuing from the above, every side has its hero even to those who seemingly didn't participate. Always wondered what Brightvale was doing during the second Meridell-Darigan War (where Kass was definitely in the wrong), even if the entire kingdom didn't participate would be nice to think some Brightvale soldier joined in the fighting)
• Ria (As we've seen heroes don't need to have super powers to make a difference, and sometimes they have disabilities of their own to overcome to save the day )
• Grudo (Didn't provide a name but misspelled "Grundo" as "Grudo" and that sounds like a good name for a Grundo even if its unintentional and derivative. Thinking about it we don't really have that many Mutant Grundo who are "good" (only ones I can think of are Gargarox and Welder, at least for recent significance). Other times Mutant Grundo are treated like brainwashed minions and only when turned back to a small Grundo are they good again. So yeah, I like the idea of a hero Mutant Grundo who has survived the evils of Sloth with his mind intact and now uses his new strength to protect others from Sloth)
• Jazlyn Solarine (This one caught my eye not only because of the art but for some reason the art is hidden behind a "sensitive content" warning, I don't know why. But reading her description, well, if you change "Mystery Island" to "Angel Island" and "Sloth" to "Eggman" you pretty much has a Sonic OC, lol. Hey, Sega Team said Sonic OCs are heroes according to Sonic Forces so I guess Jazlyn is in the clear)
  
• The Super Usuki (I guess this is Usuki Girl when its time to get serious!  )
• The Egg Beater (Another funny one, what really helps this one is the comic book setup, lol!)
• Lyla (Another D&D inspired character, this one a bard! The art is nice even if I'm having a bit of issue telling what is going on with the left wing and the what they have hanging on their shoulder (is that their instrument? Can't tell what it is))
• Bubbleri (Sort of strikes me as a main character for a kids superhero cartoon that DC and Marvel tend to throw out there once in a while)
• Lilac (Sort of looks like a Mutant version of Gilly. A general protector hero (this time for Neovia) but I like the art so I'm including it)

Gosh, I really wish I could draw because I'd draw Reuben for this in a heartbeat despite the fact that he doesn't do a lot of protecting or hero work. He makes weapons for a living, carries up to a dozen daggers on his person, and happens to be Rohane's older brother.

His super "power" is just being a Knife Nut. (I actually have an explanation for why he went Knife Nut instead of carrying a sword.)

If you have a Twitter and you have an idea, I say go for it. No one is asking for you to be the best drawer, if you have a cool concept/design for a character than even if its a rough draft drawing it gets your idea out there. Also some people just made a Customization and posted it as their hero (and some did that but added additional things to it so it's not completely a customization), so if you feel unsure about drawing the entire picture you can use official Neopets images as a base (JN has that image database; good for both reference images & re-purposing).

Not sure if I'd call it a "cool" concept lasjdflasj this character has just been in my head since I was in high school, and is quite possibly the NT character closest to my heart.

But yeah, customization could work. (Maybe when I'm not supposed to be working.)

Day 3 we're chillin' like a villain! #MyNeoVillain

• DNAisha (Poster didn't give this villain a name but I figured this was the most obvious name. Granted it looks more like an Umbreon and Espeon fused than an Aisha, but cool design nonetheless. I think it's been a while since Neopets made a "chaotic" villain like TNT did in the early days, so nice to see someone made another)
• Lest (Like her design, though wouldn't guess the main thing she'd be known for is turning kids into candy)
• Xuantana Zelea, the Phantom Hood (And so we start with the connections to the #MyNeoHero. This is the twin of Xuana Zelea, the Spirit Seeker (the one inspired by Ahsoka). Likewise, Xuantana is based on several Dark Side/Sith, namely Ventress and Vader... and Raven from Teen Titans, that's a random one to throw into the mix, lol. Possessed by a phantom who corrupts spirits, thus Xuana seeks out the spirits to send them while trying to redeem her sister; a simple backstory but has plenty of room to work with)
• Tomatino (So sounds like a food version of Boochi... too bad TNT got rid of Colour changing Random Events. Still, if they haven't this could be a neat one to get, especially if your Neopet was a Chia. Wait, this is supposed to be a villain, um, I mean how terrible it would be to have your Neopet to change Colour! Which, to be fair, if your got your Neopet the Colour you want it to be it would. I remember the time Boochi changed Firo into Baby in the middle of the Faeries' Ruin plot, you know, the plot where I couldn't use the Rainbow Fountain dip I had! Gah, I changed my mind, this is evil!)
• The Corruptuous Kyrii (Do you think just because the Kind Kau Carer works behind the scene she doesn't have an archenemy? She's a superhero, of course she has an evil counterpart that gives away poisonous treats! He also has a rather complex backstory which draws some parallels to the Kind Kau Carer and, like with the above DNAisha, reminds me of early villains TNT made which were usually results of experiments gone wrong)
  
• Jae-Beom (This feels like its based on something, the only thing I can think of is Vega from Street Fighter. A reverse Robin Hood pretty much, paying off the rich to stay above the law. Feels like maybe could be on the edge of being a Defender of Neopia villain)
• Tooth Decay Faerie (Another thing I expected, evil counterparts to official Neopet heroes. However what I was expecting was the first one being an evil counterpart to the Tooth Faerie. Alright, it's a gnarly design so works)
• Siles (This is from the same poster as the hero Queen Nera and I guess would be her archenemy. Evil brother of Altador (geez we're learning all sorts of things about Altador's family) who sided with tyrants but was frozen and sent to Terror Mountain. Yeah, pretty much the opposite of Altador, might as well be named Rodalta)
• Retroctor (Ooh, I like this idea! Using cut artwork as basis for a unique character. A glitch in the matrix mixed with an identity crisis, pretty fitting)
• Jrench & Koat (Another one the poster didn't give a name for, so I gave them one. Poster didn't really say anything about them, though I do like the artwork and the idea: a Jubjub (Jrench) and Kiko (Koat) team who stack atop one another to make a "whole" being with two minds. Maybe not mastermind level villain but certainly a high-level right-hand man (men))
• Beast of Kiko Lake (I like the presentation, a blurry image hidden in shadow seen from the glass bottom boat tour. Did you see the beast or was it just some loose seaweed? The sound the scratching of a long nail on glass or some driftwood? That water coming from a leak or someone did a very bad job mopping?)
• STEANK (... now, I really like the art, but a living fart monster? Like, yeah, we do have Meuka which is living snot and we have the color Swampgas, but I don't know this feels like it's going that one step further than needed)
• Sborg (We have a hero character that uses Slorgs, so how about a villain character that uses Slorgs, NO, IS a Slorg! It's a funny design but also not a bad one. I also like Sborg is a Halloween Slorg, giving him a bit more character than had it been a Red Slorg)
• Uvita (An evil genius Petpet in a robot suit not your thing? How about an evil genius BABY in a robot suit (but this time a four legged walker than bipedal)!)
• Myran (Two, there always be, a master and an apprentice! Well, poster never says Xandra was Myran's master but Myran might as well be, getting revenge against the Faeries of Xandra. Myran having robotic parts is a nice way to show a distancing from the Faeries and makes her distinct from Xandra who was a mage that wanted to gain the Faerie's magic)
• Madame Marbelle (A Moltaran villain with a pretty obvious motivation, I could actually see this one being a Defender of Neopia villain mission)
  
• Hilata (You know village elders, maybe the Ixi with orange and red fur might have fire powers and throwing them in a volcano is only just going to make them more powerful, just saying. I like the design, though not quite sure what's so villainous with this one (I'll just assume she likes setting villages on fire, seems like a thing a fire elemental villain would do))
• Vespidopple (Like the design, you would think there would be more Darigan mercenaries)
  
• Anti-Space Faerie (Now THIS was what I imagined for an evil official Neopet character counterpart. Sorta getting a Shego from Kim Possible vibe from her. Also, I would have thought if Dr. Sloth made an evil Space Faerie he would go the Eggman-Metal Sonic route with it being a robot duplicate using technology to replicate the Space Faerie's powers)
• Dr. Cyborg (Pretty much if you made a Bionic Cybunny into a more developed villain)
• Wizard of Inconvenience (A funny idea for a villain, especially if you get the one where he puts your Neopets clothes back into the closet; probably will be dubbed villain #1 by all customizers, lol!)
  
• Abismo (Looks like an evil Kelland. Always interesting when you have a villain who wants to take down another villain but do so in the way that's probably more destructive than the villain their after. Probably would be a foil to Captain K, a dark reflection of what he could become if he let his rivalry with Garoo get out of control)
• Myah (~Myah De Vil

  , If she doesn't scare you
  , No evil thing will~ Petpet smuggling ring, there was something I didn't think about until today. But hey, this sounds like a villain for the Petpet Protection League Secret Agents (you remember, from the Petpet Park Event). With Petpet Park closing they probably need something to do)
• Zeah L4 (Now I like the art, though at the same time there's really isn't anything "Neopets" about it. Like, I'm sure it would fit fine within the Neopets world, but aside it carrying Dr. Sloth you wouldn't even know it was meant to be a Neopets character)
• Nixy & Candice (Poster didn't give name so I game them ones I feel appropriate. Ixi Sisters who are major NC (Mall) stars, you're at first to think the Darigan Ixi (Candice; from the word "candid") is the villain but its actually the Faerie Ixi (Nixy; from the mythical creature) who runs an NC monopoly thus why most NC stuff is cutesy. A fun idea, even if it sounds like the poster is getting out some frustration of the lack of gothic clothes and abundance of pastel & cutesy stuff)
• The TaxMaster (Just when you thought you've seen the most evil creatures people can think up, here comes the most evil one yet: a banking & finance lawyer! A+ on the business presentation, especially the testimonials on the bottom, lol!)
• Night Aisha (A simple villain though she sort of reminds me of the likes of the Ghost Lupe or Shadow Usul, a dark figure with ambiguous origins and motives who pop up here and there. At the very least would provide a nice set of clothing)
• The Terror Trio (Another "nuisance" villain, though this one has a sad twist to it. They're orphan Baby Neopets who never got adopted so are not taking it out on everyone else. T-Rex the Grarrl, Baby T the Pteri, and Tess the Cybunny. I can see them being pretty much like the Bug Brothers, having a Random Event where they cause you trouble and take NP, steal an item, cause some minor damage. They also have nice designs, pretty much taking the base Baby design and adding additional traits to make them standout, even the Baby Pteri)

And that's all the villains for now! I'm really excited for tomorrows because it's a category I'm sure many Neopians with strong Neopets have been wanting to do for a long time...
