As a major lover of Chinese culture, it's no surprise that I'm very curious about Shenkuu in general, and particularly about its imperial family. As we know, there's the Emperor, a Gelert, and two daughters-Lunara, a cybunny, and Terrana, a Gnorbu. The former appears more refined and princess-ly, while the latter is a tomboy who goes mountain climbing whenever she gets the chance.
But who else is curious about other facts of the imperial family? Their ages? Their life stories(other than what we know)? And what happened to the princesses' mother?
Let me know in the thread!
**Edit**
Wow. I can't believe it.
It's been over a year.
Just, wow.
I'm sorry I was gone so long, if any of you missed me. I guess I procrastinated or something, more or less.
Anyway, I'm eager to talk about this fascinating topic once again, especially since there's not as much we can do these days as there used to be.

Some additional info that may explain some things to noted: Lunara is the eldest sister, and thus she's next in line to inherit the throne. That'll explain why she looks the most princess-ly. This also means she's kept to the palace, though lately she's been allowed to go to other worlds and events as an ambassador. Terrana is the youngest sister which seemingly gives her more "freedom" to do as she pleases, such as training to become a warrior and climbing mountains. While we know plenty about Lunara it's Terrana who is a bit of a mystery as we don't have a lot of stories about her. Even if she's not next in line she's still a princess so why is she given so much freedom yet Lunara isn't (comparing them to another famous royal siblings in the Lost Desert, Vyssa is just as much kept in the palace as Amira, having to disguise herself and sneak out to explore the city)? There is this comic from the Neopets magazine showing a bit about her character and relation with her father, the Emperor (also giving him some more characterization; also the same magazine also has a story concerning Lunara being kept in the palace). Finally there is a "fourth member" of the Shenkuu royalty: The Guardian of Shenkuu. Most of her info is told in a story about her in the last issue of the Neopets Magazine. And before anyone begins theorizing, I highly doubt she's the mother of Lunara & Terrana (though I wouldn't argue if they revealed she's their aunt and that her sister was the Empress). But that's possible fanon talking, officially all that is known about her is that she is from a noble clan sworn to guard Shenkuu and it's royal family, always watching and setting plans in motion to stop bad events from happening.

Shenkuu is definitely a Neopia location that'd be cool to know more about! For myself, the Neo comic I write is partially based in Shenkuu, so a lot of my interests lie in the day-to-day living there, what its landscapes look like, what kind of traditions it has, etc.
The imperial family I haven't much thought of before, but as you mention it, there certainly is an intriguing dynamic going on there that could lead to some neat character development. Terrana especially has always caught my eye between her design and personality, and learning more about her role in the family and for Shenkuu could be set up for some neat storytelling!
Also didn't know about those stories in the Neo magazines =o (really gotta give the magazines a read sometime) I remember seeing art of the Guardian before, but never realized who she actually was!

Aha! I was wondering who that beautiful Aisha lady was! I don't think she's a member of the imperial family, though. She's from an ancient noble clan who has always trained the finest warriors in Shenkuu. In that case, she'd be the perfect mentor for warrior wannabe Terrana.

She's not part of the royal family, but her duties are effectively to guard the royal family from harm. In terms of the royal court there's also Hinchiro, an advisor to the Emperor, and potentially the blind Ogrin Master as the head of the Imperial Guards.

Got any pictures of Hinchiro? Sadly Hinchiro is from a short story from the Neopets Magazine which focused on Lunara, so there's no image of him. What we do know is that he's an elderly Mynci. It's me again! Guess what I just did? What?
